This week on The Tone Mob Podcast, Blake Wyland sits down with Steve Cobucci — guitarist, gear junkie, and founding member of Wolves at the Gate — to talk about the beautiful mess that is making music for a living. Steve kicks things off with the story of his first guitar: a classical hand-me-down from his mom, followed by a hard-earned Gibson Les Paul — because if you're gonna make noise, you might as well do it right. From his beloved B-52 tube amp to his first Tube Screamer, Steve proves that chasing tone starts early and never really stops. Blake and Steve rip into the realities of starting a band in college, the rollercoaster of recording in a real studio, and why having a good drummer is like finding a unicorn. They don't shy away from the sticky stuff either — managing egos, screwing up communication, and how growing up (just a little) changes everything you thought you knew about music and life. They swap war stories about live shows, argue the merits of production quality, and marvel at how revisiting old albums can hit you harder the second time around. Plus, Steve drops some hard-earned wisdom about why you should find your own sound, keep it loose, and remember: if you're not having fun, you're probably doing it wrong. Whether you're a guitarist, a music nerd, or just someone trying to make a little magic without losing your mind, this episode's got something for you.
We debate strategy, argue over prospects, and try not to completely destroy our friendships by Pick 22. Thunder vs Powderkeg. Draft boards will burn. Egos will bruise. Who comes out on top? You be the judge.

Send us a textToday we're diving into a topic that's often whispered about—but rarely addressed head-on. In every medical group, there's a silent script running behind the scenes. One that influences decisions, leadership roles, and even day-to-day operations. It's not in your bylaws. It's not in your policy manual. But it definitely impacts your group's future. We're talking about the politics of practice. The power dynamics. The unspoken rules of leadership that determine who really holds the keys in your organization. Understanding these dynamics isn't about manipulation—it's about mastering the art of influence, alignment, and strategic leadership. Because here's the truth: ignoring the political landscape of your group doesn't make you noble. It makes you vulnerable. So in this episode, we're going to unpack: What office politics actually look like in the context of medicine. The high cost—financial and cultural—of not understanding how the game is played. Why medical groups often have a unique cocktail of big egos and low EQ. And most importantly, how to lead in a way that cuts through the noise and creates a culture free of political mayhem.
True manifestation requires effort, reflection, and humility. According to Kabbalah, lasting manifesations require even more - consistency, trust and alignment to one's purpose. Egos beware - once we begin to take credit for progress, the process can experience delays and setbacks. Ultimately, everything we desire in life is Light, and desiring things or results is simply the awakening. Therefore, learning to detach is the secret sauce to any real and impactful manifestation. In this episode, we sit down with chef and pasta master Ryan Peters and our hilarious friend Ian Jones to dive into a fiery topic—why do chefs have such big egos? From kitchen hierarchies to wild chef personalities, we break it all down with plenty of laughs along the way.Of course, no good conversation happens without food, so we put a pizza to the test and talk about pizza ovens—wood-fired vs. gas, what's worth the hype, and what's just marketing. Ian keeps us cracking up with his signature jokes while we somehow end up on a wild tangent about VR and golf—because why not?Grab a slice, kick back, and enjoy the chaos. This one's full of heat, humor, and some solid food talk.
