Imam Bukhari began studying Hadiths while he was still young. He completed his initial studies, especially of Hadith, in Bukhara (his birth place). At the age of 16, he had memorized many books of famous scholars, At the age of eighteen, Imam Bukhari visited Makkah accompanied by his mother and brother. After performing the Hajj (pilgrimage), his brother and mother returned to Bukhara but Imam Bukhari stayed there for further education.
Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal [R] is remembered for many things. He was an Imam in Fiqh, Hadith, and many other sciences. Yet, the one matter he is most remembered for, one of the most defining moments in his life was his stance in the time of the Mihnah (the Inquisition)
Abu ‘Ubayd said: "If the intelligence of an entire nation was brought together he [Ash-Shafi’i] would have encompassed it." Similarly, Al-Muzani said: "I have been looking into Ash-Shafi’i's Risala for fifty years, and I do not recall a single time I looked at it without learning some new benefit."
Imam Malik was one of the most respected scholars of Islamic jurisprudence, he mastered the science of Hadith at the age of 17 and began to issue fatwa after 70 scholars confirmed his eligibility for the purpose. Shaykh Muhammad Abdul Jabbar It is reported that Prophet Muhammad [S] said: ‘The better ones of you in the Days of Ignorance are the better ones of you in Islam when they understand (the religion).” These wise words of Prophet Muhammad [S] were best proved in the case of our hero Khalid ibn AI-Walid [R].
Salman al-Farisi is known as the Imam, the Flag of Flags, the Inheritor of Islam, the Wise Judge, the Knowledgeable Scholar, He came from a highly respected Zoroastrian family from a town near Isfahan. One day while passing by a church, he was attracted by the voices of men praying. Drawn by their worship, he ventured in and found it better than the religion of his upbringing. Talha ibn Ubaydullah was a cousin of Abu Bakr, He was also extremely rich. According to al-Masudi, he made 1,000 dinars a day from his business ventures. He also owned lots of real estate in Medina. Once he was rich, he gave all of his income to charity, let’s find out more about him.
One of the ten Companions who were given the glad tidings of Paradise while they were alive. He became a Muslim through Abu Bakr. He was a relative of the Prophet [S] through his mother. The Prophet often complimented him saying, "This is my maternal uncle Sa'd. Is there anyone who as an uncle like him?"
The image of dignity and grace, a handsome, pleasant, well-spoken man with a tall, slim physique and bright sharp eyes. These were the physical good looks of a man whom the Prophet [S] said: ‘Every Ummah has a trustee: the trustee of my Ummah is Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah.’
He was a very active young man aged only 19 or 20. When he heard the divine call of the Prophet, he went to the presence of the Prophet with his wife without any hesitation and they became Muslims. Watch on to know more about this great man.
Abdur-Rahman Ibn Awf [R]was one of the close companions of Prophet Muhammad [S] and his life story is certainly one worth studying and emulating. He was one of the first eight people to accept Islam.
