In John 15, Jesus declares, “I am the true vine.” As branches, we are called to abide in Him—our source of life, strength, and fruitfulness. True discipleship means knowing our position in Christ, trusting the vine to provide, and embracing both pruning and blessing. When we abide, our lives bear fruit, our prayers are answered, God is glorified, and we experience the fullness of His joy.
Jesus tells us in Acts 1:6 -11 that we are His witnesses to the ends of the earth. In a world marked by sin and brokenness, we get to carry His light into our city, our families, and beyond. Love moves when we live as His witnesses. Phoenix Bible Church is a church in the heart of the city of Phoenix, Arizona. We desire to engage culture, uphold truth and love people. In a world where life can be heavy and confusing, we want to cover the hard truths - with grace. This is difficulty and messy - and so are we - but the love of Jesus meets us in our mess. Our rhythm is to gather to worship on Sunday and then scatter during the week to love, live and lead together. We are imperfect people moved by the perfect love of Jesus. Come as you are. Experience His love.

He secretly believed Jesus was the Messiah, but fear kept him silent. Then, after Jesus' death, Joseph made a bold decision that cost him everything—but secured his place in history. This episode explores Joseph's transformation from secret disciple to public follower. Why did he risk his reputation, career, and safety to bury Jesus in his own tomb? What can his story teach you about courage and faith? If you've ever struggled to stand for Christ in a difficult world, Joseph's journey will challenge and encourage you. In this powerful message, we delve into the heart of discipleship and its vital role in our Christian walk. The key scripture, 2 Timothy 2, paints a vivid picture of spiritual multiplication. Just as Paul mentored Timothy, we're called to pour into others and help them grow in faith. This isn't just about gaining knowledge; it's about transformation through intentional relationships. The analogy of living stones from 1 Peter 2 reminds us that we're not meant to stand alone, but to be built together into God's spiritual house. As we reflect on this, we're challenged to consider: Who are we pouring into? Who's pouring into us? Our faith isn't meant to be static, but dynamic and ever-growing. In a world that desperately needs hope, we're reminded that our mission is critical. We're called not just to gather, but to be launched into the world, sharing the love and truth of Christ with those around us.
As we approach the Gospels in our Garden to Garden series, we encounter the first-century world of Jesus, shaped by a deep devotion to the Text and the rabbinic discipleship system. Our journey continues through the narrative of the Bible with a closer look at Rabbi Jesus and the world of first-century discipleship.

This week we're diving into the disciplines of being an intentional disciple-maker. Just like Paul discipled Timothy, he connected with him both personally and culturally, using the examples of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer. We are called to disciple others, no matter their background or past mistakes, because of the promise of victory, the vision of winning, and the hope of a harvest. Disciple-making is always worthwhile when our goal is to glorify God, win people to Christ, and one day live eternally with Him. Remember: no past experience is beyond redemption. The church grows when YOU share your story!

What do bread, wine, and a simple meal have to do with the salvation of humanity? In this powerful message, pastor Chris Rieber unpacks the profound significance of Jesus' last Passover with his disciples. Looking at Luke 22, we see how Jesus transformed the traditional Passover meal into something entirely new—the Lord's Supper. As he broke the bread and poured the wine, Jesus wasn't just observing an ancient tradition; he was instituting a new one, a permanent remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice he was about to make. Join us as we explore how Jesus himself is the final Passover lamb, whose blood was shed to take away the sin of the world. Discover why he isn't just a part of the story, but the only hope for true redemption.
Expositional style teaching on John CH 1:34-39 utilizing the text in order to extract several truths that all believers need to consider as we decide if we are going to be disciples of Jesus Christ. This teaching will examine some hard truths regarding the makeup of true disciples, as well as expose the many skewed views of what makes a Christian a disciple, in the hopes of igniting a desire within each of us to take up this challenge in the name of Jesus. Prayer is not one-dimensional—it is a gift from God with many purposes and expressions. In his message on prayer, Pastor Andrew unpacks the different types of prayer that shape a vibrant life of faith: the power of corporate prayer when the church unites, the steady rhythm of consistent prayer that keeps us anchored, the intentionality of scheduled prayer that creates sacred space in our days, the focus of specific prayer that invites God into the details, and the intimacy of relational prayer that deepens our walk with Him. Prayer is more than a practice—it's a posture that transforms us.

In John 13:2–17, we witness one of the most startling and beautiful moments in Scripture—Jesus, the King of Kings, stooping to wash the feet of His disciples. On the eve of His crucifixion, with betrayal at hand and His glory before Him, He sets the ultimate example of humility, service, and love. This message walks through: 1. The Setting 2. The Scene 3. The Symbol 4. The ApplicationWe see the backdrop of pride, betrayal, and selfish ambition contrasted with the majesty of Christ's love. We behold the act itself—the Master of the universe doing what only a servant would do. We uncover the deeper meaning, that this washing points to the greater cleansing at the cross. And finally, we hear the call to follow His example, laying down our pride to joyfully serve others. In this powerful text, we are reminded that Jesus not only washes us clean from sin, but also calls us to live as people marked by humility, love, and selfless service.

“An Encore Performance by Ignorant Disciples”Mark 8:11-21Having recently completed our series “None Like Jesus” let's continue to “Behold Him” by embarking on a new study through the Gospel of Mark. Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels and it is action-packed from start to finish – as evidenced by the word “immediately” used over 40 times. Mark wrote to believers, probably Roman believers, who were no strangers to persecution. And he wanted to disciple his readers to be strong in their faith by encouraging them to look to their Mighty Messiah, the Son of God, who remained steadfastly faithful even while becoming their Suffering Servant who died for them. Mark's Gospel is a call to all believers to fearlessly “Follow Jesus” because they can trust Him completely.
