“The Lottery” lets us enjoy and review Old Forester Rye in all its newness. We also nominate and draft 5 Minnesota whiskeys for our upcoming July 4th liquor run episode. Micah tried to convince Andy that 90 Day fiancé isn’t hot garbage television, and Andy stresses the importance of a good window guy when throwing stones from glass houses.

“The Bridge is Up” highlights the ongoing feud of messing with your friend’s Spotify playlists through random song requests. We sip Nikka’s Coffey Grain, a Japanese Whisky, and discuss current cocktail preferences, how Micah got into whiskey, and what makes well written television.

Our return after a hiatus finds us tasting New Riff’s single barrel offering in a new space. We sip and admire Micah’s quick work of turning the his basement into a recording cave, and recall fond memories of favorite video games, arcade birthday parties, and cigars.

Andy makes a revelation around Micah's true opinion of sheltering in place. Construction plans around bar designs and the finishing of a basement. Andy and Micah talk about needing sports to come back as soon as possible and how amazing PJ Fleck is.

We review Old Bardstown, an earthy value-find that has popped up recently in Minnesota. A trip to Kentucky is plotted while also discussing how a technical mind can be a blessing and curse in sports while, Micah explains his thoughts on complexity and mocks Andy for habitually dabbing when he sneezes. Shrimp on a Plane returns us to whiskey with our first Minnesota distillery after a weekend of re-centering our chi and living with the voices in our heads. Pauly Shore’s 5 years of early nineties dominance somehow takes center stage. Micah relives being taught how to properly order a drink. We also debate the merits of boarding airplanes while eating a can’t miss shrimp cocktail, along with an (unrelated) long-held affinity for Kelly Kapowski.

Mezcal Music Hour, takes a week hiatus from bourbon for another smokey spirit. The title really says it all. How our friendship has expanded musical tastes, the golden age of Total Request Live, and our current quarantine music obsessions (hint: Megan Thee Stallion). We also touch on Taco Tuesday being the only universal meal our kids tolerate, small town bar bills, and whether we’ve reached our stress level breaking points.

Our first liquor run pays tribute to Beam Suntory, one of the largest whiskey producers in the world. While wandering through 4 distinct bottles from Beam-owned labels and Andy gives Micah a much anticipated gift, we dive into some television favorites and man buns. Even our wives decided to make an appearance on this extended special episode.

Disney movies, pipe tobacco, and a weighted blanket to calm Andy down. After the stresses of people becoming more lax and not staying at a minimum safe distance, a nice Manhattan can make it all better.
