William and Casey are back for more stiff riffs! It's The William Montgomery Show with Casey Rocket!
Legendary comedian Yakov Smirnoff owns a comedy club in Branson Missouri that bears his name and is appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week. He tells a story of working on a film with Robin Williams and his career talking a fall along with the Soviet Union. Yakov started out at the Comedy Store working as a handyman because he didn't know much English. He roomed with Andrew Dice Clay and had to deal with Pauly Shore wrecking the place. | Jay discovered a fun way to blow off steam. He starts complaining to Rammstein's "Du Hast" and trashes the place when the song gets heavy. Bobby and the listeners join in the "Midday Temper Tantrums!" It was a musical weekend for Jay because he also discovered a new theme song for his Philadelphia Eagles. *To hear the full show to go www.siriusxm.com/bonfire to learn more FOLLOW THE CREW ON SOCIAL MEDIA: @thebonfiresxm @louisjohnson @christinemevans @bigjayoakerson @robertkellylive @louwitzkee @jjbwolfSubscribe to SiriusXM Podcasts+ to listen to new episodes of The Bonfire ad-free and a whole week early. Hey, everyone - Dave here. As we get into the unbearable hellscape that is Summer, please remember to get your Air Conditioner checked regularly, lest you end up overcranking your system and turning one of your employees into an ice cube. The podcast you are about to hear is a cautionary tale of Air Conditioner negligence and stale, frozen comedy premises. I'm your host, Dave, and joining me as we wheeze the juice are fellow cinephiles and Cro-Magnon men, Mike and Ryan. Topics of discussion in this episode include a comedy premise that feels like it was frozen in the 80s; Sean Astin tests our tolerance with the loathsome character of “Dave”; and finally, we track the rise and fall of Pauly Shore, the Weasel of the 90s. Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Charles is back on the pod! And what better way then to talk about one of the most revolutionary films of the 90s, Jury Duty starring Pauly Shore. It's been a while since our Son in Law episode so we talk again about how Pauly Shore is a goddamn national treasure. We get into the many layers of this film and potentially why it has a coveted 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. I realize that I find the fashion in this film amazing but the quotes are legendary. Why are all the comedians getting sober? On this episode of Pauly Shore's PMS Podcast, we dive deep into the shifting culture of comedy and sobriety with three very different guests: stand-up veteran Josh Wolf, rapper and recovering addict Lil Xan, and everyone's favorite stoner comic, Stoney McBlaze. Taped live at Jam in the Van, this is Episode 77 and it's as wild, raw, and honest as it gets. Filmed live at Jam in the Van in Culver City, this episode explores the changing landscape of comedy culture-where punchlines are still sharp, but the haze of booze and weed is starting to lift. Josh Wolf reflects on life after getting clean, bringing the same intensity to recovery that he brings to the stage. Lil Xan opens up, performs live and Stoney McBlaze, true to form, rides the line between insight and absurdity, keeping the laughs coming even as the subject matter turns heavy. This isn't your typical recovery talk. It's rehab meets roast, with a side of redemption. And yeah, it's still Pauly, so expect things to get weird. Learn more about your ad choices. Comedy legend Pauly Shore is back and has questions about the state of the Bonfire and the business model of podcasting. He used to date porn stars and made a home sex tape with his then fiancé Savannah. The conversation turns dark when he mentions great comedians who took their own lives. Jay and Bobby follow the wackiest people on Instagram. Bob loves to watch an old lady name Evelyn complain about the government trying to killer her in very specific ways. Big Jay enjoys a little person who is constantly pranked by his friends until he throws a screaming fit. Pauly Shore will be performing his hour at The Stand in New York City tonight! Sassy launched with the March 1988 issue and here we are in 1991, watching our friend turn 3! And if we were reading the issue in order, this would probably be a cool, fun party, but since we're starting with the Teen Life topics...the first feature is about a rape on campus at the University of Rhode Island that, spoiler, did not have a happy ending for the survivor. After that piece, things lighten up: Jessica revisits her old job as a substitute teacher. Christina collects a (somewhat questionable) list of decent men (and the fact that one of them is fictional and six of them are dead kind of says it all). Two of your co-hosts are divided on the quality of this month's fiction piece, "Train Date," while the third mainly just wants to keep playing a clip advertising a mail-order train set. Guess who? The answer won't surprise you! Body Talk divides a household. Body hair is a confusing Help topic. What He Said star Pauly Shore is somehow still a going concern in our day. And to the Jeannes in our listenership: sorryyyyyyyy. All this and even more awaits you! QUICK LINKS

NOTHIN' COMES EASY: The Life of Rodney Dangerfield (April 29, 2025) is the first biography of the "bug-eyed, sweaty, herky-jerky, tie-pulling comedian with the doleful countenance." Dangerfield's indelible beat-down image was played for laughs, but there were sad truths behind his sad-sack persona. TV writer Michael Seth Starr has crafted an immensely entertaining bio of the comedian's slog up the show business ladder. Ten years as a C-level stand-up comedian, he quit the business to sell aluminum siding and paint to keep the lights on. Then he went back to the clubs under an entirely new name, from Jack Roy to Rodney Dangerfield. A career-changing appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show at the ripe age of forty-five would be the lucky break, opening doors to television, movies, and comic fame at last. His catch phrase, "I don't get no respect," underscored his circuitous rise to the top after years of setbacks and grit. "What stood out for me, in authoring this book," writes Starr, '"was Dangerfield's perseverance in the face of such overwhelming odds. I was impressed at how he launched a second comedy career as a man already in his forties and out of the game for a decade. He never abandoned his undeniable urge to get back in the game and to share his seemingly unending reservoir of magical one-liners." At the beginning of his comeback, he began writing jokes for comedians like Jackie Mason and Joey Bishop, in the days before the "no respect" persona was solidified. He worked agentless, making his own deals. And it took him a solid five years to clinch his now celebrated debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. It took another few years of hustling on the circuit before he landed on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, which opened a wealth of doors in Hollywood. Dangerfield's comedy style - a self-mocking angst, the comedy of the perpetual loser - was endearing and universal. He was the schlubby Everyman snubbed by life, finally making it big. Soon Dangerfield would be leaving his mark in films, most famously in Caddyshack and Back to School. He was rebuffed in later years by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - which refused him membership. But Dangerfield had already cemented his place in comedy history as a writer and performer. When he died in 2004, his death made international headlines. Among his pallbearers were George Carlin, Roseanne Barr, Chris Rock, Larry David, Andrew Dice Clay, Jon Lovitz, and Carl Reiner. The book closes with a highly engaging chapter, "Riffs on Rodney," with remembrances of the comic from his peers including Jay Leno, Rita Rudney, Bob Nelson, Robert Wuhl, and Pauly Shore.
