Wie angekündigt «Thunerts Thema» diese Woche in einer erweiterten Form: Statt einer einzelnen Ausgabe gibt es zwei Beiträge. Nachdem am Dienstag (9. Juni) Till Voelger vom BFFS zu Gast war, ist nun am heutigen Donnerstag (11. Juni) nochmal die Zeit, die variierende Meinung vom VDS zu vertiefen – vertreten wird sie von Synchronschauspieler Matti Klemm (u.a. Jason Momoa) sowie David Wagner (Kanzlei Spirit Legal). Nochmal als Replik: Im Mittelpunkt steht erneut der anhaltende Konflikt um die KI-Klausel bei Netflix. Zahlreiche Synchronschauspielerinnen und Synchronschauspieler arbeiten derzeit weiterhin nicht für den Streaming-Anbieter, weil sie eine Vertragsregelung ablehnen, die Netflix die Nutzung ihrer Stimmen für KI-Trainingszwecke erlaubt. Besonders aus den Reihen des Verbands Deutscher Sprecher*innen (VDS) kommt Kritik an einer Vereinbarung, die zwischen Netflix und dem Bundesverband Schauspiel (BFFS) ausgehandelt wurde. Nach dieser Regelung darf vorhandenes Sprachmaterial für Zwecke der Qualitätskontrolle und Optimierung von KI-Systemen verwendet werden. Gesprächspartner Matti Klemm als selbst betroffener Künstler äußert vor allem die Angst, das aus der Einspeisung seines Stimm-Materials in ein unübersichtliches KI-Geflecht ein unkontrollierbares Potpourri entstehen könnte, das die Nachvollziehbarkeit am Ende schwer macht. Auch Jurist David Wagner sieht darin eine signifikante Herausforderung, für die zwar technische Lösungen denkbar seien, deren Gerüst jedoch erst noch dezidierter herausgearbeitet werden müsse, um klarere Verbindlichkeiten in der Hand zu haben. Beide äußern in diesem Zusammenhang Bedauern über die Abwehrhaltung von Netflix – denn für einen Arbeitsprozess, der eine verbesserte Basis schafft, seien gemeinsame Gespräche von Nöten. Vor allem David Wagner sieht auf juristischer, als auch auf kultureller Ebene zudem die Politik gefragt, um zukünftig eine europäische Marschroute zu beschreiten.
