In April 2019 we met Zekria and his five children next to their tent in Moria on Lesvos, the camp that unfortunately burned down a few weeks ago. Tune in to hear about Zekria's time in the camp, how he ended up in Switzerland, and how he worked hard to found the Wave Of Hope schools to provide children living inside the camp with basic education. Note that we recorded this episode back at the beginning of August, which is why we did not address the fire in our conversation here. Tune in to the second episode of the Refugee Roads podcast miniseries "Life on Lesvos", where we speak with Damian Boeselager, a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and co-founder of Volt Europa, the first pan-European party in the history of the European Union. Tune in to the first episode of the Refugee Roads podcast miniseries "Life on Lesvos", where we speak with volunteers Adrian & Julie, who worked until recently on the Greek island of Lesvos. Together, we explore how life on Lesvos has changed since tensions increased at the Greek-Turkish sea border, and since the global Corona pandemic started. We learn about Julie's evacuation from the island in February 2020 as well as how they see things going forward for people fleeing their homes, and how a pandemic could affect the residents of overcrowded camp Moria - Europe's largest refugee camp.
