On last week's episode Matt talked about how special interests are perpetuating the war between Ukraine and Russia. He discussed his interactions with Ukraine DAO, a blockchain project raising funds for arms, which puts them squarely on the side of big banks and weapons manufacturers. All this got him thinking about how organizations and governments get captured by special interests. Over time cults are becoming more and more watered down, from one epoc to the next. At least that's what Marc Andreessen believes. What were murderous collectives with rigid criteria for inclusion are now loosely affiliated fandoms. Outsiders were once considered sub-human and slaughtered, but now, simply by choosing iPhone over Android does not doom one to death. We're more live and let live now.
