Talking to interesting and successful people about how they ended up in their technical careers and the life advice that they would like to share.
This week Sarah sits down with Yousra Mahdy, a Boise Student pursueing her Master of Science in Data Science with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP). Listen in to her about her application process, comparisons to American education vs other country's, and plenty of other great things!
My guest today is Chris Winn, he previously helped build a successful startup company. Chris and I discussed the importance in a startup of product build time. Chris really stressed that picking programming languages is not as important as minimizing time until proof of concept (POC). Chris also talked about what to look for in a mentor, and that everyone needs a sounding board.
I sat down with Senior Solutions Architect at Red Hat, Nathan Bott. We discussed the progression of technology with regards to Git’s Autocode, the acceptance of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, speech to text. Nathan also talked about his non-traditional entrance into technology, similar to all our other guests. Anyone can enter into tech at any age and still be successful.
Matt is a chemist at Sika who uses different devices to test the properties of epoxy. While he does not program like most of the other guests on Sarah in Tech he does use technology to do his job. Sarah and Matt have actually been friends for over a decade since they are both alums of Alma College.
I talked with Brian de la Motte about how he took the leap of faith on starting his own company. Brian tries to lift up others and crate impactful change in the world around him. His next venture is aimed at helping renters decrease their application fees and get better insight into how and why their application was rejected / accepted.
