Do you feel pressured to post on social media daily to keep your coaching business alive? Visibility in coaching doesn't depend on daily social media posts. There is an alternative: collaborative visibility strategies that create evergreen, compounding results instead of content with a 24-hour shelf life. Today's conversation draws a clear line between marketing and coaching, unpacking a full visibility-to-client ecosystem of getting seen in the right adjacent spaces, using a genuine lead magnet to build an email community, and nurturing that community into coaching clients without relying on sales tactics. Ready to change your thinking about visibility as a coach? Join us to learn more about thriving in your space without being enslaved to daily social media posts.Polly Pollock is a speaker, published author, and the founder of Neuropreneur Rising. She mentors coaches with ADHD and busy brains toward capacity-conscious marketing, redefining consistency as regular, intentional action toward a specific result rather than a daily habit. To sum it up, Polly's philosophy is that weekly intention matters more in marketing than the daily social media grind.Show Highlights:Challenging your thinking around consistencyThree filters for choosing a visibility strategy: niche-specific spaces, alignment with your strengths, and honoring your real-life capacityFocus on collaborative visibility: podcast appearances, guest teaching/speaking, and leading workshops.Time management strategies: use time blocking and replace worn-out marketing strategies with high-leverage activities that align with your unique strengths“We have the hardest time with consistency in doing something we hate. If we enjoy it, it's easier to be consistent.”Polly's best tip for getting started with podcast guesting: Make sure you know exactly who your ideal client is and what podcasts they are listening to. (Find the space where you can resonate with those who need what you are offering.)Pitching without AI: Authentic, researched pitches that lead with value win over generic, templated outreach.Leading with value is the most important starting point in business, marketing, and sales.Strategically using lead magnets to build your email community (“Give before you get.”)Understanding the visibility-to-client ecosystem in today's worldPolly's key takeaway: “Send one pitch to a podcast, company, or community in which you want to teach and share value.”Resources:Connect with Polly Pollock: Website, Instagram, and The Anti-Social Marketing Kit (FREE with code “STAR”)Connect with Meg:Explore our mentor program! It's one of the most transformative investments you can make in yourself and your coaching. I've taught or mentored over 2000 coaches, and I hear the same thing again and again. I came because I had to, and I am so glad that I did. Coaches tell me they walk away with renewed energy, deeper confidence and a community of peers who genuinely support each other. Here's what you need to know right now. Mentor coaching must span a minimum of three months, so the time to start is not when your credential is just about to expire. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Dr. Stephanie Wall. Purpose of the Interview To share Dr. Wall’s expertise as a neuroscience coach, criminal justice professor, author, and mentor. To discuss her mission through 1 Million Lives Transform, a global movement helping women unmute their voices and lead with authenticity and confidence. To provide actionable strategies for overcoming self-doubt, fear, and imposter syndrome in professional and personal settings. Key Takeaways Background and Roles Served 20 years in law enforcement and continues teaching criminal justice and ethical leadership. Founder of 1 Million Lives Transform, focused on empowering women to reclaim their voices. Unmuting Your Voice Many professionals mute themselves due to fear, lack of confidence, or imposter syndrome. Techniques: Awareness: Recognize when you’re silencing yourself. Pause and breathe before responding. Stand up when speaking in meetings to command attention and project confidence. Use phrases like “I’d like to build on that point” to engage respectfully. Mindset and Fear What you tell yourself matters more than external criticism. Replace negative self-talk with affirmations and surround yourself with positive influences. Neuroscience supports that repeated positive input rewires thought patterns. Boundaries and Time Management Learn to say “No” as a complete sentence. Set boundaries for phone calls and social interactions to protect productivity. Busy professionals should establish communication rules (e.g., “Do you have a minute?”). Authenticity and Leadership Authenticity is key—embrace your natural gifts and use them to transform spaces. Leadership requires mindset shifts when moving from peer to manager roles. Mentorship should be intentional and specific, not generic (“pick your brain” requests need structure). 1 Million Lives Transform A movement to help women rewrite their narratives, reclaim confidence, and lead boldly. Focus on self-awareness, boundaries, and empowerment strategies. Notable Quotes “Notice in that moment that you are muting yourself.” “Stand up when you speak—you command the room.” “No is a complete sentence.” “Our gifts are not for us; they are for other people.” “What you say to yourself does more damage than anything anyone else could say.” “Authenticity isn’t lip service—it’s showing up as who you truly are.” “Boundaries are not selfish; they are necessary.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode, Bryan welcomes back Trevor Matthews from Refrigeration Mentor for a conversation focused entirely on nailing a job interview in the HVAC and refrigeration trades — whether it's a technician's very first shot at breaking into the industry or an experienced tech looking to move to a new company or specialty. Trevor opens up about his own rocky start, admitting he cycled through roughly 25 different jobs before landing in refrigeration and that he struggled with confidence in early interviews because he assumed he needed a deep resume of experience. What actually got him hired, he says, was being coachable: showing up willing to learn and do what was asked, even if that meant starting by sweeping floors. For technicians just entering the trade, Bryan and Trevor lay out a practical playbook. Research the company before reaching out — knowing what services they offer, how long they've been in business, and what type of work they do builds instant trust. Cast a wide net rather than sending out only a handful of applications, and don't get discouraged by rejection; both hosts stress "pleasant persistence" as the key to standing out, following up warmly without becoming a nuisance. Trevor shares a story about motivational speaker Les Brown showing up at a radio station day after day until he finally got a chance, as a reminder that repeated, respectful effort pays off. They also recommend creative approaches like recording a video resume tailored to a specific company, and getting ahead on certifications such as EPA 608, confined space, first aid, or defensive driving before ever applying, since these small credentials can make a hiring manager's decision much easier. The conversation then shifts to technicians pursuing their next opportunity rather than their first. Bryan explains that many larger companies route candidates through HR before they ever speak with a service manager, and that each conversation requires a different tone: HR wants to hear about safety, a clean driving record, and reliability, while a service manager wants to know how you'll bring value to customers and the team. Both agree that driving records have become a surprisingly major factor in hiring, given how much liability and cost a company takes on with every vehicle on the road. They also encourage candidates to ask people already working at a company for an internal referral, since a warm introduction dramatically increases the odds of getting hired, and many companies even offer referral bonuses that make current employees eager to help. Finally, Trevor and Bryan get tactical about interview performance itself. They recommend using AI tools to generate likely HR and technical interview questions, then practicing out loud with a spouse or friend to shake off the "rust" of not having interviewed in years. Confident humility comes up repeatedly: it's far better to admit "I don't know that term" than to bluff, and to speak with genuine curiosity about the trade rather than reciting a list of accomplishments. Trevor illustrates how a candidate can talk through a hypothetical service call step by step to demonstrate real troubleshooting knowledge, even without hands-on experience in that specific niche. The pair close by touching on soft skills like conflict resolution and building good relationships with dispatch, and Trevor shares where listeners can connect with the Refrigeration Mentor community for more training and support. Topics Covered Why Trevor initially struggled with confidence in early job interviews Researching a company before applying or interviewing Casting a wide net and using "pleasant persistence" instead of giving up after a few no's Standing out with a tailored video resume Getting certifications early: EPA 608, confined space, first aid, defensive driving Why driving records and vehicle safety matter so much to HVAC/R employers The difference between talking to HR versus a service manager Asking a current employee for an internal referral Avoiding negativity about past employers during interviews Using AI to prepare likely interview questions, then practicing with a real person Confident humility: admitting what you don't know instead of bluffing Demonstrating resourcefulness through podcasts, courses, and industry resources Talking through a hypothetical service call to show troubleshooting ability Soft skills, conflict resolution, and building relationships with dispatch Trevor's own story of landing his first refrigeration job in Australia Where to connect with Trevor and the Refrigeration Mentor community Learn more about all the great resources Trevor offers through Refrigeration Mentor at https://refrigerationmentor.com/. “Organizational culture doesn't come from words on the wall, but culture depends on what gets rewarded, what gets tolerated, and what gets quietly punished when nobody is watching the wall.” In this solo episode, Meg Rentschler explores why organizations often act against their stated values when under pressure. Meg defines culture through practices that are modeled and measured, offering coaches five diagnostic questions closely related to the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. She shares a client story, along with a “Say-Do Audit” tool to identify whether company values are genuinely lived or simply fiction. Join us to learn more!Show Highlights:A working definition of culture that makes senseSee the gap and close the gap. Five questions and how they match with the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership:“What happened the last time someone on this team disagreed with a decision publicly?” (This aligns with “Enable others to ask questions.”)“What's something everyone on this team knows is true, but no one says aloud?” (This exposes the “Model the way” failure.)“Regarding the last person promoted here, what behavior got them promoted?” (This is a “Challenge the process” question in disguise.)“When was the last time this team missed a deadline or made a mistake? What happened next?” (This tests the “Encourage the heart” practice.)“If a brand new employee shadowed this team for one week, what would they conclude actually matters here?” (This is an “Inspire to shared vision” check.)Client examples from Meg about innovation vs. compliance“Your highest value in organizational culture work is not as a mural painter but as a mirror.”How to use the “Say-Do Audit” of an organization's stated valuesThe key is to let the team recognize and sit with the gap before moving to action. THE (MAGAZINE) DOCTOR IS IN — Megan Schertler wants to help you make magazines. Yes, you … and you … and you too. But she also wants to ensure that once you make a magazine, you make another one. And then one after that. She wants to make sure that you know it's not easy to create a magazine or to run one or to publish a second one or to sustain a magazine or media brand or to run a business. Megan is big on print. She's one of those extremely rare people who's held down numerous magazine jobs while never working on the digital side of things. Yes, really. People like her exist. So she knows more than many her age that print is more engaging, produces more loyalty, and creates a deeper and more meaningful connection with the message on the page than any other medium. And so with her partners, Megan now helms In Real Life Media to help would-be magazine makers sure, but also some of the world's largest brands navigate the realities of the magazine world. Because while we all love print here, it's hard, it's expensive, and it is, quite frankly, a pain in the ass. But it also results in something glorious, and Megan travels the world speaking at conferences and to people like me to spread the word.. — This episode is made possible by our friends at Freeport Press. Janice opens up about what it means to be "halfway homeless" as a teenager in 1980s New York City, navigating shelters like Covenant House, group homes, and public school while keeping meticulous diaries. She candidly discusses the privileges that helped her succeed, the ethical mistakes she made along the way, and how she eventually found her center through writing and long-term therapy. Janice also shares invaluable advice for aspiring writers on embracing "ugly first drafts" and explains how she now helps others heal by putting their painful memories safely onto the page.Get your copy of Girlbomb by Janice ErlbaumAs an Amazon Associate, Now I've Heard Everything may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.Chapters:00:42 Reflecting on 20 Years of 'Girlbaum' 01:12 Returning to Covenant House 02:24 The Impact of the James Fry Exposé 03:07 The Universality of Youth Running Away 03:28 What Does 'Halfway Homeless' Mean? 06:10 Balancing School and Shelter Life 07:17 The Role of Writing in Her Life 09:05 Honesty About Mistakes and Ethical Dilemmas 10:53 Centering Yourself Amid Chaos 11:58 From Writer to Mentor 15:06 The Writing Process and Embracing Imperfection 18:35 Looking Back After 20 Years 19:40 Reflections on Happiness and Gratitude 21:35 Reconnecting with People from the BookGuest InformationJanice ErlbaumWebsiteSocial:YouTube Facebook Instagram TikTok1994 interview with Susanna KaysenFor more intriguing and engaging interviews each week, subscribe now on:Spotify Apple Podcasts YouTube
In July 1831, the whaleship Mentor sailed out of New Bedford Harbor with 22 men aboard, hoping to strike it rich hunting sperm whales in the Pacific. They never made it. Caught in a raging storm, the ship smashed into the remote island chain of Palau — and within hours, half the crew was dead. What followed is one of the most harrowing survival stories in American maritime history. In this episode, host Blaine DeSantis sits down with New York Times bestselling author Eric J. Dolin to unravel what happened to the men who lived: hostage negotiations demanding 200 guns, years of forced labor and starvation on a tiny island just one mile long, forced tattooing meant to absorb the castaways into island culture, daring escapes aboard passing ships, and a naval rescue mission ordered by President Andrew Jackson himself.Along the way, Dolin pulls back the curtain on the golden age of American whaling — the stench you could smell before you saw the ship, the teenage "green hands" who'd never been to sea, and why most whalemen came home with almost nothing to show for years of brutal work. He also shares how he pieced together this forgotten story from logbooks, journals, Palauan oral histories, and more than 100 rare illustrations from archives around the world.Only 7 of the 22 men ever made it home. This is their story.
In this episode of THE MENTORS RADIO, Host Tom Loarie talks with Tom Hardin, dubbed the FBI’s “Tipper X.” An undergraduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton School of Business, Hardin’s promising career as a young financial analyst and junior partner at a small hedge fund in Manhattan, segued into Hardin becoming the youngest trader to be caught in a massive insider training FBI sting. Hardin agreed to cooperate with the FBI—agreeing to wear a hidden wire on more than 40 occasions—and ultimately becoming one of the most prolific informants in securities fraud history. His cooperation helped to build more than 20 of the 80+ individual criminal cases in “Operation Perfect Hedge,” the largest insider trading investigation of a generation. This episode delivers a riveting, raw, unvarnished conversation with Hardin on self-deception, the high price of “fitting in”, and how to survive life’s absolute worst moments. He wasn’t publicly dubbed “Tipper x” until early 2010. At the time, he had less than 12 hours to prepare his relatives before his name was made public. As you’ll hear, Tom Hardin doesn’t hide behind the word “mistake.” He openly admits: “I did this intentionally.” That radical accountability is what allowed him to rebuild his life, find his faith, and serve as a warning sign to keep other leaders from sliding down the same slippery slope. Of course he cannot work in the financial field with a felony conviction, but in 2016 the FBI invited him to speak to agents about his side of the story, which proved to be quite eye-opening for some of the younger agents. A few of the agents told Harding they felt others in the financial, hedge fund industry would benefit from his story. He has now shared his first-hand cautionary tale to more than 150 audiences, including 90 hedge fund firms. In broader context, we tend to think that massive personal and professional failures happen overnight. But they don't. In reality, these failures happen through quiet, everyday compromises in two critical areas: (1) The Trap of “Fitting In” — There is a dangerous difference between finding a place where you belong and twisting yourself to “fit in.” Fitting in is an active sacrifice. To fit in with an elite crowd, we silence our voice, compromise our values, and erase our true self. When young Wharton graduate Tom Hardin entered the high-stakes world of Wall Street, his desperate desire to fit in clouded his moral judgment. Because Hardin lacked grounded mentors early in his career to model real ethics, he slipped into self-deception. Once you deceive yourself, you can deceive anyone – and lose your soul in the process. (2) The Danger of “Turning Against” Your Spouse — Statistics show that only 15% of marriages survive a federal felony conviction. Yet, Tom's wife, Sue, stood fiercely by his side. When asked how she survived the trauma of his arrest, her answer was simple: “He never turned on me.” He made terrible, illegal choices, but he never demeaned her, hid from her, or directed his failures at her. Ultimately, too many relationships dissolve – sometimes invisibly – because one partner slowly begins to turn against the other, chip away at their dignity, or demean them. In a crisis, if you turn on each other, destruction is guaranteed. Today's guest introduces us to the concept of capacity: the gap between the effort someone puts in and the impact they get out. You'll learn why capacity isn't a fixed container, like a gas tank or battery, but a nervous-system bandwidth that is completely trainable. You'll discover how a coach's own dysregulation bleeds into the coaching relationship through nervous system co-regulation, and why two clients can present with identical stated goals. At the same time, one is ready for strategy and the other needs nervous system regulation first, and how coaches can learn to read “the thing beneath the thing.” Join us for practical strategies, a “feel-think-do” framework, and the path to your free capacity report card self-assessment. Dr. Lizette Warner is a keynote speaker and leadership capacity expert who helps organizations solve the effort-to-impact disconnect so they can build cultures where people make a bigger impact with less effort, while increasing engagement and retention. With a PhD. in Biomedical Engineering, 20+ years of executive leadership experience in science and health technology, and certification as a Master Certified Coach through the ICF, Lizette sits at a rare intersection of scientific precision, executive credibility, and embodied transformation. Her Hashimoto's diagnosis, an autoimmune condition she now understands as her body's response to years of unregulated performance, was the turning point that reoriented everything she knew about achievement and performance. Today, she speaks at corporate conferences, leadership retreats, and executive events on topics including leadership under pressure, high-performance culture, decision-making, and workplace resilience. Mentioned in this episode:Mentor ProgramIf you're working toward your ACC or PCC credential, or if it's time to recertify your ACC mentor, coaching isn't just a requirement on a checklist. And if you complete your hours in 2026, you get ahead of the upcoming ICF changes, which means peace of mind along with skill development. My fall cohort is already filling up. Every group is capped at ten. It's small, personal, and powerful. If you've been waiting for the right time, this is it. So head over to Star Coach Show. Welcome back to the Embodied Baddie Podcast! Today we're diving into a conversation that might challenge the way you think about mentorship, coaching, and investing in your own growth. If you've ever wished someone would just tell you exactly what to do... this episode is for you.Because here's the truth:Mentorship isn't about getting free advice. It's about becoming someone worth investing in.In This Episode You'll Learn:The Mistake I Made Early in BusinessI desperately wanted someone successful to show me the way—but I wasn't yet in a place where I truly valued or implemented the advice I was receiving. Why Free Advice Rarely Creates TransformationWe often believe information is what we're missing. In reality, implementation and commitment are usually the bigger problem. The Investments That Changed EverythingI share how investing in mentorship—from Boutique Hub to somatic coaching and beyond—completely transformed not only my business, but the way I think, lead, and make decisions. Why I've Invested Nearly $200,000 in CoachingThe return wasn't just financial. It was years of mistakes avoided, faster growth, greater confidence, and becoming the kind of leader I wanted to be.The Question Every Aspiring Mentee Should AskInstead of asking, "Who will mentor me?"Ask yourself: "Why would someone successful want to invest their time in me?"The Unexpected Mentor Who Changed My BusinessI share the story of meeting one of the most successful people in the archery industry—and why he generously answers my questions. What Actually Attracts Great MentorsIt's rarely about your revenue or experience. It's about coachability, humility, consistency, curiosity, and proving you're willing to do the work. The Biggest TakeawayThe right mentor can save you years of trial and error. But mentorship isn't about someone carrying you. It's about showing up as someone who's willing to listen, implement, and earn the opportunity to learn from people who've already walked the path. When you become that person, you'll be amazed at how many doors begin to open.If this episode challenged your perspective, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaway. Share it with me on Instagram or inside the Embodied Baddie Lounge. And if you know another entrepreneur who's trying to figure everything out alone, send this episode their way. Sometimes the fastest path isn't working harder—it's learning from someone who's already been where you want to go.Until next time, keep becoming the woman your future self is counting on.

Raymond Lavine is an extended care benefits advisor. He advises and designs long-term care benefits for families and LTC benefits for companies. Raised in the Hollywood Hills, Raymond grew up in a household shaped by global history. The son of immigrants who fled persecution and sought opportunity in the United States, he was introduced to perspectives beyond his immediate surroundings at an early age. Family travel across North America and Europe broadened his worldview, reinforcing the idea that lives, values, and challenges vary widely, an understanding that would later influence both his personal philosophy and professional approach.Following high school, Raymond made a choice that surprised many: enlisting in the U.S. Army. Upon entering airborne infantry service, he encountered environments and individuals far removed from his upbringing. Military life demanded cooperation, adaptability, and accountability, while service in Vietnam exposed him to loss, sacrifice, and the realities of vulnerability. These experiences left a lasting imprint, sharpening his empathy and deepening his appreciation for the burdens others carry. After completing his service, Raymond returned to education with renewed focus. Beginning at community college before transferring to the University of Southern California, he excelled academically, majoring in international relations with a minor in business. While he valued the rigor of his studies, he later reflected on the lack of formal negotiation training, a skill he came to see as essential in business and in navigating everyday human interactions.Lavine's professional path spanned commercial banking, mortgage services, and life insurance, culminating in his specialization in long-term care planning. A personal turning point emerged when caregiving challenges within his family revealed the financial and emotional strain that arises without preparation. Motivated by firsthand observation, he shifted his focus to helping individuals secure extended care solutions before a crisis strikes, preserving dignity, independence, and family stability.Today, Raymond's work centers on guiding people through conversations they often prefer to avoid, emphasizing understanding over assumptions. He advocates planning that protects not only assets but also careers and relationships, particularly as caregiving responsibilities increasingly affect working families. My approach is the belief that listening alone is not enough; it is about understanding.Dr. Kimberley LinertSpeaker, Author, Broadcaster, Mentor, Trainer, Behavioral OptometristEvent Planners- I am available to speak at your event. Dr. Hensin Tsao on Mentorship, Writing, and Defining Success Beyond TitlesChristine welcomes Dr. Hensin Tsao, Harvard Dermatology Professor and Director of melanoma programs at Mass General, who shares a pivotal early-career moment: stepping in for a WHO Melanoma Congress talk on genetics that led to new opportunities and reinforced the value of serendipity and mentorship. He advises giving every talk full effort regardless of audience size, focusing on turning “light bulbs” on for learners, and building an academic career through continual writing and strong communication, which he argues AI cannot fully replace in crafting persuasive, poetic narrative. Tsao reflects that titles are responsibilities, not validation, and warns that career moves can carry disruptive family costs. He discusses leadership lessons about recognizing differing goals in trainees, and describes his identities as explorer, clinician-guide using evidence to reduce suffering, and youth soccer coach. How do shingle ratings and warranties actually drive sales? First, they are not the same thing, and many roofers are getting this wrong. Ratings = “This has been tested.” Warranties = “This company backs it.”Why does this matter? Because homeowners aren't buying roofs. They're buying what feels like certainty. If you can't explain this properly to homeowners, they will not understand your value. But if you get this right, you could be the one roofer that stood out from everyone else. P.S. I spent a decade being selfish. It made me rich. Then I tried to lead people, and it almost cost me everything.I've knocked doors in Brazil as a missionary. I've sold pest control, solar, and coaching. I've made millions in commissions and trained thousands of sales reps. Somewhere along the way, I made the single most expensive mistake of my career.I promoted my best salesperson into leadership. He had a 90% close rate. He was one of the most talented reps I'd ever seen. Within six months, our culture was deteriorating, retention was falling, and the team I'd spent years building was unraveling. That mistake cost me over $1 million.More importantly, it completely changed the way I think about leadership. In this episode, I break down the biggest differences between being a great salesperson and becoming a great leader. We cover: • What skills transfer from sales to leadership—and which ones become liabilities. • Why every leader must make the shift from selfish to selfless. • Why sales makes you dangerous, but leadership makes you durable. • The Rule of 7 and why most leaders try to coach too many people. • The 70% Delegation Rule that changed how I build leaders. • Why reactive leaders stay stuck while proactive leaders build scalable businesses. • The Boss, Mentor, Friend framework. • How to transition from top producer to full-time leader without destroying your income or your culture. If you're a salesperson, entrepreneur, manager, or business owner trying to build people—not just close deals—this episode is for you.If it helps you, send it to someone who's making the jump into leadership. It might save them from making the same mistake I did.

Bill believes that consistent and fun endurance exercise is one of the best ways to reduce inflammation and slow aging.Speaking at the Cell Surgical Conference 2024Bill's areas of research have included Dwarfism, Cancer, CardiovascularDisease, Inflammation, Osteoporosis, Anemia, Multiple Sclerosis,Aging, and many others. Before founding Sierra Sciences Bill was aMedical Researcher at Armos Corporation, Codon Corporation, BerlexBiosciences, Geron Corporation, and EOS Biotech. Bill played key rolesin the discoveries and inventions of:Human Growth Hormone (hGH), Prorennin (Prochymosin), Tissue Plasminogen Activator(tPA), Osteo-Inductive Factor (OIF), Thrombomodulin, Erythropoietin (EPO), Beta-Seron, HTSite Specific Mutagenesis, Various Cancer Treatments (Rytelo, Telomelysin, GV1001, UV1,mutant hTR, and others), Telomerase, TRAPeze, TA-65, hTERT mRNA RT-PCR HTS,Telomerase Gene Therapy, C0314818 (TAM818), TeloSMRT, Isagenesis (Product B), Premere, Telo-Vital, Rytelo, and many more.In 1997 Bill was awarded 2nd Place as National Inventor of the Year for his cancer research. In the early-to-mid 1990s, while at Geron Corporation, Bill led the research to discover both the RNA and protein components of human telomerase, the enzyme responsible forpreventing telomeres from shortening in our reproductive cells. He has determined that the only real definite “hard-stop” to lifespan and health span, that is true for all humans, as well as non-human primates, cats, dogs, horses, sheep, pig, and deer, is “Telomere Shortening”. No matter what else we do to treat aging, aging will neverbe cured and/or reversed unless we also solve the telomere shortening problem.Presently, the primary focus of Sierra Sciences is to find ways toproduce telomerase and lengthen telomeres in all cells of the humanbody, not just our reproductive cells, and eliminate this key hard-stop tosuper-longevity. But Bill is aware that the war against aging is not goingto be won with just one battle.Contact Dr. Bill Andrews:website: https://sierrasci.com/https://www.facebook.com/telomere.bill.andrewshttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551532301673linkedin.com/in/billandrewsphdhttps://www.youtube.com/@billandrewsphdhttps://www.youtube.com/@sierrasciences1625https://www.instagram.com/yonderssi/Dr. Kimberley LinertSpeaker, Author, Broadcaster, Mentor, Trainer, Behavioral OptometristEvent Planners- I am available to speak at your event. Are you leading your team into the next level, or waiting for them to find it on their own? This is where so many Salon CEOs get stuck: You hire the team. You train the team. You pay the wages. You carry the emotional load. Then you quietly wonder why they are not stepping up, rebooking properly, lifting their column, or acting like the business matters. The gap is not always skill. The gap is leadership. And that does not happen by accident. In this episode, Joel Bouzaid takes you inside one of our Salon Mastery intensive workshops, where Salon CEOs doing between half a million and over three million in revenue worked through what it really means to become the 100K Mentor inside their salon. 3 Reasons Why Every Salon Owner Should Listen Why your future salon requires an elevated version of youThe leadership shift that creates $100K stylists or beauty therapistsThe five traits your team needs from YOU before THEY can truly step up
THE PRIME OF MR. NEVILLE BRODY — “Once you have broken down the rules, literally anything is possible.'” In the business of magazine design, few names resonate as profoundly as Neville Brody. And, to this day, he lives by those words. Renowned for his groundbreaking work and commitment to pushing design boundaries at magazines like The Face, Arena, Per Lui, and others, Brody is a true auteur in the world of design. We talked to him at the launch of his spectacular new monograph, The Graphic Language of Neville Brody 3. Nurtured on 1970s British punk music, which rejected anything that appeared self-indulgent or overwrought, Brody found the perfect launch pad at The Face, the London-based music, fashion, and culture monthly, created by editor Nick Logan in 1980. The Face inspired an array of fellow magazine rule-breakers, including the late Tibor Kalman, David Carson, and Fabien Baron, who calls Brody's work “powerful, aggressive, and simple.” Since then, Brody's journey in graphic design has been marked by a relentless, almost unforgiving pursuit of innovation. His magazine design challenged conventional norms and redefined visual storytelling. Brody's design approach is characterized by a rejection of conventional grid systems and editorial hierarchies, and a willingness to break free from established design rules. And he thinks magazines today are missing a giant opportunity: “That's the beauty of print, that you can't achieve in the same way digitally. Digital is so commoditized. We're not expressing content anymore. We're just delivering it. Neville Brody's legacy in magazine design lies in his fearless approach to challenging the status quo and his ability to capture the zeitgeist of his time. By pushing the boundaries of traditional graphic design, he not only influenced the look and feel of magazines but also inspired a generation of designers to embrace innovation, experimentation, and a spirit of creative rebellion. Brody's work continues to be celebrated for its enduring impact on the evolution of graphic design and its role in shaping the visual language of contemporary media. Norway punches far above its weight as a sporting nation. The success of its athletes might be rooted in the way young Norwegians learn sports – by first focusing on the process, rather than on wins and losses. “It's a human-centered blueprint,” a sports wellness expert tells our writer. “It puts the person first by looking at the player pathway as a human journey, not just a sports journey.” Also: today's stories, including how residents of one Memphis neighborhood are weighing challenges with an AI data center; a look at new cuts to U.S. intelligence operations; and our reviewer's thoughts on “The Wreck of the Mentor,” a strange, true story of a shipwrecked crew on a South Pacific island. Join the Monitor's Clay Collins for today's news.
Harvard Business School Professor Joseph Fuller joins Jon Macaskill and Will Schneider to break down decades of data showing that men are quietly falling behind in education, the workforce, and health outcomes. Joe explains why this is the first generation since the Great Depression where young men don't expect to match their parents' lifestyle, how the job market shifted away from traditional male-dominated work toward social-skill-heavy cognitive jobs where women outperform men by 25 to 35 percentage points, and why the "college for all" philosophy fails 60% of 18-year-olds who will never finish a four-year degree. The conversation covers how schools were designed in ways that disadvantage boys, the professionalization of youth sports ($40 billion industry), applicant tracking systems that create "scar tissue" work identities, the historical pattern linking young men without household formation prospects to societal instability, and practical solutions including apprenticeships starting in 10th grade, teaching social skills in elementary school, AI-assisted learning, and eliminating homework. Jon shares how these trends show up in his own family. Joe closes with a direct charge: don't wait for someone else to do something. Mentor a kid.
