Andrew and Tremaine discuss social distancing and their pre-corona trip to Portland, OR. They talk about what it is like to spend almost every moment together as a family in a two bedroom apartment with a toddler and having to work at the same time. Also they discuss their time visiting the wonderful Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary where Helen the bison lives. Please consider supporting the work of Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary by donating either through https://www.facebook.com/lighthousefarmsanctuary/ or https://www.lighthousefarmsanctuary.org. With the current pandemic situation they are facing challenges getting the necessary supplies and keeping up with costs.
Andrew and Tremaine recap the family trip to Barcelona, Albi, and Paris. They chat about what went well, what went poorly, and some general tips. However, they somehow completely forget to mention they picked up a caganer while in Catalonia. This is a true mystery how it skipped their minds, especially Andrew’s.
Andrew and Tremaine recap the last couple months, lay out their plans for the end of the year, do some product reviews, and send out some shout outs. Happy holidays and happy New Years!
Andrew and Tremaine took some time off and are now ready to fill you in on Parker updates! They discuss new abilities, new challenges, and when toddlerhood really set in. There is a product review and discussion on whether or not a cold open is better than a cold ending.
Andrew and Tremaine are back for the 14th month update. This time they again discuss what new skills Parker has picked up and most importantly hash out a new intro. You’ll have to stick it out to the end to hear some of the cut takes. Tremaine takes a hard line on acceptable chocolate chip cookies. Product review: BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller — The Shiz
Andrew and Tremaine triumphantly return for the first episode in the second year of Parker’s life! They discuss the various things Parker has learned in the past month and a half, new behaviors, and what fun adventures they have had Including a haircut! Andrew and Tremaine again record outside, but this time in the evening at a campground without Parker. Product review(s): Patagonia outdoor baby clothing — The Shiz
Andrew and Tremaine record outside In South Dakota on a deck, and Tremaine describes her outfit. They recap the visit to Yellowstone National Park and how Parker enjoyed it, specifically all of the baby bison! Andrew also makes a bold commitment to releasing these final first year episodes. This episode is also unique because it is our first technical snafu that cost us recorded content. Unofficial product review: Yellowstone National Park employee mistakes. Product review: Graco 4Ever Extend2Fit All-in-One Convertible Car Seat
Andrew and Tremaine check in while on a hike with Parker. In this case Tremaine was carrying Parker who was enjoying the hike but wasn’t thrilled to be recorded. They discuss how the baby has done and if he has enjoyed the trip and park adventures, and how great the flight west turned out (spoiler: not good). Finally, the upcoming adventures for the week are previewed. Public service announcement: when hiking, if someone has to move aside to allow you to progress, you should acknowledge that in some manner. Product review: Osprey Poco AG Child Carrier
Andrew and Tremaine discuss their big three week anniversary + Parker 1 year birthday trip. Andrew proposes that he could edit the episode in one day and Tremaine makes it clear that is not possible this time. The biggest piece of advice they can offer for this is to determine a way to do laundry mid-trip because babies require a lot of space even when paired down. Follow up: the change of clothes in a separate suitcase was a great idea. Also, there is super foreshadowing. Product Review: Packing cubes
Andrew and Tremaine do a quick record way late to recap the solo dad weekend and packing for the family’s upcoming long trip.
Andrew and Tremaine recorded this episode live at a date night dinner celebrating the first Mother’s Day ... four days early. There is a short discussion of what constitutes babysitting and also how best to celebrate the parental holidays.
Andrew and Tremaine discuss their social preferences when at church, especially regarding anything that requires active mingling. They also talk about Parker some, like how he now sits up while trying to fall asleep. And how they cruelly just ripped the pacifier away without warning for night and nap sleeping, which turned out to be just fine. The focus really is about Tremaine giving Andrew tips and tricks on how to manage the baby solo. Product Review: ThinkBaby Thinkster Straw Bottle
Andrew and Tremaine discuss their past week with Parker which included a long hike using their fancy baby lugging backpack and new boots. Also they spend an amount of time discussing the potato sides available and appropriate for breakfast. Tremaine recaps a girls tea lunch while Andrew sips coffee on mic. However, the big draw is that they play “Would You Rather: Baby Edition” about Parker. Product review: Kidsthrill Rainbow Stacking & Nesting Cups
Andrew and Tremaine interview the paternal grandparents, Cindy and Fee Monshizadeh. It starts with a digression about Amazon Alexa and then moves onto discussing the baby, eventually. Don’t worry, there is shade thrown at Andrew’s haircut. The big topic though is that Andrew and Tremaine left Parker with the grandparents overnight. Product review: Happy Baby Organic Yogis
Andrew and Tremaine celebrate Parker’s 10 month birthday by dispensing 9 Shizbits of experience for new parents. Turns out this is a good replacement for scrolling through your Instagram when the service is down, except when there are new pictures of baby bison which almost entirely derails the whole podcast for the rest of time. You will have to listen to learn all the Shizbits. Definitely stick it out until the end to hear Tremaine sing an iconic theme song.
Andrew and Tremaine spend a gorgeous Saturday morning recording an episode. During that time they talk about an adventure they are taking Parker on Sunday. There is a slight passive aggressive play to get reviews, and then something super awkward is said. Primarily they discuss the fact Parker will be 10 big months and what has changed over the past month. Andrew asserts that he did some baby proofing of the apartment but the truth is Tremaine has done the vast majority, including a big custom safety system for our fireplace.
Andrew and Tremaine again record on a Monday night which means they are a little looser than usual. They talk about how much they did over the weekend, as in they spent time with other adults on both Saturday and Sunday. Parker is now re-learning how to totally sleep through the night, not particularly by his own volition. But he is definitely scooting his little butt across the floor on purpose. Andrew and Tremaine wrap it all up by discussing all the baby proofing they have to do around the apartment. Most importantly Tremaine suggests that they drink during all future recording sessions.
Andrew and Tremaine record without notes and discuss Parker’s 9 month checkup including how much weight he has gained. Andrew joins the other two at a swim lesson. Tremaine introduces Parker to dirt, grass, and random sticks. Tremaine has a dinner date while Andrew manages the baby. The parents try to decode the baby sleep pattern, which is always impossible.
Andrew and Tremaine debate how to properly cover a cough or sneeze. Andrew appeals to the public via Judge John Hodgeman reasoning. Eventually they discuss how Parker is 9 months old now, how fast it has gone for them, parenting is only cliche, what they did a year ago, how much will Parker weigh now, how many teeth there are and new behaviors.
Andrew and Tremaine record for real but then don’t release it for over a week. They are really on top of everything. Tremaine throws shade at Andrew for when he brushes his teeth but it backfires. Then they cover their most recent flights and employee interactions. Together they discuss how they each take care of themselves. Business concepts are discussed and if either grandma does listen to this podcast. They probably do just for the Parker sounds at the end.
Andrew and Tremaine interview Aunt Dian! Diane is Tremaine’s Aunt and she recently renovated her house, so of course Parker did his level best to break it in. There are a few topics are covered but most importantly they do not discuss a mistake that Andrew made the day before. Also Parker makes his presence known, again.
Andrew and Tremaine get really back into recording. They set up the studio for the first time in a few weeks, all their equipment is working, and Parker is sleeping (for most of the episode). They chat about Parker starting to eat solid food, some of their upcoming travels, and a product review.
Andrew and Tremaine return to the studio for a regular episode. Well, they still don’t have their usual microphone and so are recording on the bed again, but it is a normal format. They discuss useful and useless advice they have received or read. They review some baby spoons. And both lament how weird strangers can be when they see a pregnant woman.
Andrew and Tremaine take Parker on a trip into NYC to visit Caitlin and Ryan. He finally gets to meet their dogs and see Caitlin again after months apart, Ryan he has seen much more recently. They talk about how raising kids is different in NYC compared to the Midwest, babysitting Parker, how to handle screen time with a baby, and where everyone might eventually move. All four take part in the product review of a high chair.
Andrew and Tremaine ran out of time to record this weekend so please enjoy some fun sounds from Parker in the past week.
Andrew and Tremaine quickly recap their day. Then they discuss ideal gift ideas for new parents, or at least recently minted parents. There are a lot of generic ideas just because this isn’t about product placement or reviews this week. Finally, they also talk through their quickly generated New Years resolutions (which they called Parker-lutions in a poorly done pun). Also, they debate whether or not "Who Framed Roger Rabbit” is good or trashy. Oh yeah, and there are a lot of Parker laughs at the end.
Andrew and Tremaine discuss their family’s long holiday trip to the Midwest. They discuss how Parker has slept, how many miles their car now has (still not many!), how all their previous travel prepped Parker for this much car time, better ways to time stops on the road. They also interview Aunt Tressa and Finn Welch in a bar over drinks. Also a surprise guest interview: Little Buffs!
Andrew and Tremaine talk about Parker’s first road trip and Christmas plans. They cover a couple traditions that their family will treat differently than when they grew up. Burp cloths are reviewed. A pooping log is discussed. Finally, Perd Hapley makes an appearance. Sorry for a few technical hiccups!

Andrew and Tremaine quickly discuss passive social media pressure, a wonderful toy, and how Andrew interrupts a lot.
Andrew and Tremaine discuss Parker’s first Thanksgiving holiday. They talk about traditions to start, how Parker helped get dinner ready, and how everyone spent their day. Additionally there is promotion of small business. Finally, they forgot to do their guest interview and so there is an awkward pause where it would have been edited in.
Andrew and Tremaine discus the family’s first international trip with Parker. They talk about what went well, what went poorly, what they did predict and what surprised them. Parker was an international baby of mystery by the end. The BabyBjorn Bouncer is reviewed and dinner “entertainment” referenced. With Thanksgiving coming up In the US there is discussion of Thanksgivings gone by.
This week AunT (@trestinyschild) takes over the show as Andrew, Tremaine, and Parker all travel to Ireland. There are revelations and surprises galore!
Andrew and Tremaine discuss the family's upcoming trip to Ireland. They talk about what they are excited for and nervous about. Additionally there is a 4 person interview to close the episode: Grandma Monshizadeh, Great Aunt Jerri, and Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Haines. Lots of perspective given. Also, Parker takes part as background music.
Andrew and Tremaine interview Aunt Tressa! She tells everyone what it is like watching Parker grow up as someone that isn't his parent, and that she would save us from going off the rails. It is Tremaine's birthday so there is talk about that, breakfast, Halloween costumes of old, bad childhood haircuts, and new activities for Parker. Andrew and Tremaine give a quick recap of upcoming activities. Please forgive the lower quality audio today because they did not record in the closet this time.
Andrew and Tremaine recount Parker’s first visit to a farm. The three of them and Aunt Tressa picked pumpkins and apples, and the adults had warm apple cider donuts. Rattle preferences are discussed, a 360 leak talked around, and a rare double shout out!
Andrew and Tremaine record on their way home from Newark International Airport. It is really late and thus no editing.
Andrew and Tremaine discuss the next big milestone in Parker's life: 4 months! They talk about what has changed already and what developments they are looking forward to with either excitement or dread. Parker has gained a new piece of equipment: a DOC Band to address some flatness. Andrew interviews his long time friend Lin Yi after he meets Parker for the first time. They guess how much Parker is going to weight at his check up. Tremaine recounts her adventure to get Parker interviewed by TSA. Finally, they review a snot sucker.
Andrew and Tremaine have a rough record which reflects on the past week. Parker has a tough moment in the middle which cuts the show short. They will be back next week with a longer, more energetic episode. Or they will be even more tired. It is parenting after all.
Andrew and Tremaine discuss weekend expectations. They cover how each sees the weekend in a completely different light and how adding a child only increases that difference. Parker joins them in the second half after not falling asleep as expected.
Andrew and Tremaine recap their previous two weeks. In that time they took Parker to the Midwest for the first time and dealt with inconsistent TSA regulations/enforcement. There is mention of changing habits, new experiences, and why Andrew is particularly lethargic. Finally, they review a travel brush set that is The Shiz. The audio quality for Andrew is pretty bad for this one, sorry the mic was on the wrong setting. Oops.
Andrew and Tremaine take Parker half way across the country to visit Grandma and Grandpa V as a surprise for Grandpa's birthday. Also, Aunt Tressa makes an appearance! This is another special episode where they ditch the normal format and instead just hold an interview. Lots of fun topics are covered, but mostly everyone discusses how being a parent or grandparent is different than expected. WARNING: This episode includes sudden and unannounced explosions about half way through. Please do not listen at maximum volume or if you are easily startled (like we were during recording!).
Andrew and Tremaine trade places for the week when Tremaine returns to coaching volleyball and Andrew stays home with Parker. They discuss what was the hardest part for each of them. Baby hats for newborns are put through the wringer. Someone gets pooped upon.
Andrew and Tremaine welcome Parker's Uncle Peter and Aunt Lindsay to the show! This is their first, but surely not last guest spot on the podcast. All four of them discuss first impressions, New York experiences, future hopes, and hobbies. Additionally, Parker awake and took part in the recording this time so he too gives his opinions. This is a special episode and does not have most of the usual segments, but those will return next week.
Andrew and Tremaine can't believe that Parker has reached the double digits in weeks. They announce the winner for the Parker's Pounds contents: Lindsay! Parker has started really being able to support his own head and it has enamored both Andrew and Tremaine even more. Parker had the EarWells removed on the same day as his 2 month check-up, and his ears are so wonderful. Andrew and Tremaine discuss what they used to worry about and what they now are worrying about. Tremaine discusses what fun activities she and Parker did together this past week and what they have coming up. Finally, Andrew gives a marginal recommendation for some cheap washcloths.
