Lucky and Grimm (Gab and Dan) saw 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and they loved it. Tom Holland was excellent. Dan thinks this is the best Spider-Man movie he's ever seen. Michael Keaton nails the scary, bad guy; he's unsettling and creepy. You can see this as a stand-alone movie, if you haven't seen any other Spider-Man movies. But there was one thing that annoyed Dan about Peter Parker. Find out what it was and let us know if you agree...
This week Lucky and Grimm (Gab and Dan) are excited, because they're going to RTX in Austin Texas and it's going to be insane. Gab explains why this is the best convention. It's about going to panels and listening to experts talk about their experiences, or doing live podcasts, or playing games on stage. But the reason she loves RTX the most is because the Rooster Teeth convention is about community. This year RTX have an escape room, created with Rooster Teeth set designers.
Lucky and Grimm (Gab and Dan) are joined by special guest Nicola Scott this week. She's an Australian Comic Book Artist, in the American comic book industry, who works exclusively for DC Comics. She's worked there for the last decade. For the past year she’s been working on re-telling Wonder Woman’s origin story. The last time this was done was in 1986. The Split Screen duo ask her what she thought of the new Wonder Woman film. She’s seen it six times already. Nicola went to the LA premiere and is glad that the numerous movie versions of Wonder Woman in the past didn’t go ahead, because she loves this one; it was done right. The comic book artist also talks about the difference between Marvel and DC characters. When asked if the movie will change the way comics will be drawn, her short answer is, no. They worked separately from the film. The costume has changed slightly, to be closer to the film, which Nicola likes.
Lucky and Grimm Bonez (Gab and Dan) talk about Snapchat's new 'Snap Map' update, which has had a lot of controversy surrounding it. The feature allows people to show their exact location when they upload a snap, and people are concerned about the safety surrounding this. Gab agrees, she thinks it's scary and has potential to be unsafe. Gab and Dan have both turned the feature off, which anyone can do, switching it to 'Ghost mode.' What do you think about the new feature?
It's been two decades since Atari first released a console, and this year they've announced they'll be releasing a new console, for the first time since their beginnings. It will still have the wood grain finish and, apparently will stand up to the PS4 and Xbox. It’s called the Atari Box. How cool would it be to have Atari classics like Space Invaders and Miss Pacman with the graphics and storytelling of today’s games?
This week Grimm and Lucky (Dan and Gab) are joined by special guest, JusZ. She'll be hosting Oz Comic Con's new cosplay championships this year. It's the first time Australia's been part of the European cosplay circuit. This comp is unique because it's skit-based, with most weight on the skit itself. The winners go on to represent Australia in the Netherlands. Grimm and Lucky also have a comp this week; you can win a double pass to Melbourne's Oz Comic Con!!
This week Lucky and Grimm (aka Gab and Dan) talk about all things E3, because E3 2017 is happening right now! Xbox started the show off with the Xbox One, which is a new console, slated for a November release. It's beefy. The cool part is that every game from the Xbox original is backward compatible, meaning you can go back and play all your favourite games on an updated console - games that basically kicked off the Xbox world! There's a new Spider Man game coming too, find out why Dan's so excited. Oh, and the Wonder Woman comp winner is announced!
