It's no coincidence that a poster of The Hills Have Eyes made it into the set dressing for The Evil Dead (1981). Much like Doug, Ash is on the scaredy cat to bad bitch pipeline — and we're exploring that and more clear references in our Season 2 premiere. Picking up where we left off with Alien, we're highlighting another genre-defining horror film as we explore the origins of the ghombie, spooky cabins in the woods, and emo Peter Parker. Into the Spidey Moviveverse returns as Greg and Chico look at the first solo adventure of Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2017's Spider-Man Homecoming. Some of the matters discussed include the greatness of Michael Keaton, how Mr. Harrington keeps his job as a teacher despite being clumsy, hot Aunt May and the fly hat that Ned wears during the movie. Here's hoping you pass the test that Tony Stark gives Peter after you listen to this episode. Greg and Chico will return in October to cover Venom on the next episode.
In the epic conclusion that was never meant to be a conclusion, we have our most jam packed Spider-Man movie yet (and yes, that's taking Spider-Man 3 into account)! We take a trip through the land of a thousand plots and try to keep up with those who we think are main characters (but who really aren't) and those that are but shouldn't be. Confusing, right? Peter Parker is confident as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man despite his relationship troubles as Gwen prepares to move on without him and Harry, his "best friend" who he hasn't seen or heard from in a decade, gets down with the sickness. We got Electro….and Rhino…and hints of others… and Smythe... Join us as we try our best to unpack this suitcase and unravel the mess within the one and only, 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

It's almost the end of September, which means Sony has revealed the free games available next month for PlayStation Plus subscribers. On PS5, we're getting Hell Let Loose, and for PS4, there's PGA Tour 2K21 and Mortal Kombat X. Hell Let Loose is a brand new World War 2-themed FPS with large 100-player battles and an RTS-inspired meta game. It was released on PC this summer and is now making its way to consoles. PGA Tour 2K21 features 15 licensed PGA Tour courses and a robust player and course creator. Mortal Kombat X was originally released back in 2015, and we gave it a glowing review, calling it the best Mortal Kombat game, period. PS Plus subscribers can grab these games starting October 5th. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 may not be hitting PlayStation 5 consoles until 2023, but Marvel is already teasing the game's darker storyline. On the This Week in Marvel podcast, Marvel Games executive Bill Rosemann compared the sequel to another famous sequel: The Empire Strikes Back. The first game did a great job of setting up this new version of Peter Parker, and the challenges he faces balancing his responsibilities as Spider-Man with his real-life identity as Parker. Now it's time for the sequel to tackle some of Spidey's more complex storylines. But he won't be alone, as Miles Morales will be there at his side taking on Venom and most likely Kraven the Hunter. And finally, the Nintendo 64 and IGN turn 25 today. Time flies, huh? It didn't feel that long ago when we were using dial up internet to look up cheats for GoldenEye on IGN64.com. What are your favorite N64 memories? Let us know in the comments!

In the quickest reboot in the history of cinema, one spider will stand alone - and we aren't talking about the one on the basement wall. Peter Parker is swinging back into action, but this time he's funnier, quippier, and most of all, COOLER. In yet another origin story, we get to live through another Uncle Ben death, another radioactive spider bite, another training montage, and even another mentor turned villain. In a classic "copy my homework but make it different" situation, Spider-Man navigates his way through high school and the meaning of responsibility. But we don't get the classic line - just a round-about paraphrase. So join us as we follow the newest (at the time) model of Spider-Man, but don't worry, this one is pretty Amazing! We're swinging through New York in 2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man"!
This week we talk about arguably, one of the most hated Spider-Man movies to have ever been made. Even though Tobey Maguire, James Franco, and Kirsten Dunst are trying their best, this movie still wasn't as good as the first two. It's still very entertaining, but let's be real, this entire film is a meme within itself. Everyone's hitting their head multiple times. Peter Parker is a sh** boyfriend and has noticeably thin lips. Everyone is stupid in this movie for some reason. Eddie Brock sounds like he has Invisalign and Venom looks weird. ALAN IS FINALLY ON CAMERA! On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Insomniac Games revealed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be arriving on PS5 in 2023, and its first gameplay trailer revealed that both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be facing off against Venom. Alongside returning voice actors Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker) and Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales, it was also confirmed that Candyman's Tony Todd will voice Venom. While it was just a brief glimpse, Insomniac Games also announced it is working on Marvel's Wolverine for PS5. This new game is being directed by Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales' Brian Horton and Cameron Christian, and Insomniac's goal is to "not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit." We finally got our first look at the upcoming sequel to 2018's God of War, officially titled God of War: Ragnarok, during Sony's PlayStation Showcase. Those with a keen eye may have spotted a familiar character teased in the trailer wielding a mighty hammer. It was confirmed shortly after the showcase that it was, in fact, Thor who could be seen for a brief moment in the trailer. Now, we've gotten a full-body reveal of the Norse God himself and he looks very different than many of us are used to. We've finally got another look at Metroid Dread. This gameplay overview trailer shows us how Samus' abilities work, provides us with another look at the E.M.M.I robots, and gives us a peek at some exciting new Metroid Dread gameplay. Metroid Dread will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021. Seth has all that in your Daily Fix!

Releasing next week, we saw more from Deathloop, the Radiohead Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, beautiful animal-possesor Tchia, and confirmation of a remastered collection of Uncharted Lost Legacy and Uncharted 4 coming to both PS5 and PC.Gran Turismo 7 revved its considerable engine and looked beautiful while doing so, before Insomniac shocked the world with the announcement of Marvel's Wolverine AND Spider-Man 2. It'll feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales Spider-Men, and not only seems to confirm the inclusion of Kraven The Hunter, but DEFINTIELY confirms Venom. Finally the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok was shown in detail, with Kratos and Atreus preparing for both Ragnarok and an inevitable showdown with the god of thunder himself, Thor.#PlayStation #PlayStationShowcase #PS5--------------------------Subscribe for more wonderful video game content from Ben Potter, Peter Austin and Ashton Matthews!TripleJump provides video coverage of video games - including top ten lists featuring current gen platforms (PS4 & PS5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X/Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch and PC), retro consoles (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox and Sega), as well as Worst Games Ever, video game challenges, launch games videos, first impressions, podcasts, livestreams and much, much more.Careers, contacts, and more information can be found on our website: http://tripleju.mp⇨ Official PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo digital storefront credit (and Minecraft Minecoins): https://triplejump.gg/⇨ Patreon: https://Patreon.com/TeamTripleJump⇨ Twitch: https://Twitch.tv/TeamTripleJump⇨ Merchandise: https://triplejumpshop.com/⇨ Livestream VODs: http://tripleju.mp/vods⇨ Podcast: https://play.acast.com/s/triplejump⇨ Twitter: https://Twitter.com/TeamTripleJump⇨ Facebook: https://Facebook.com/TeamTripleJump⇨ Discord: http://Bit.ly/TeamTripleJumpFollow the team on social media:• Ben: http://www.twitter.com/Confused_Dude & Confused_Dude on PSN• Peter: http://www.twitter.com/ThatPeterAustin & https://instagram.com/ThatPeterAustin• Ashton: http://www.twitter.com/ScrambledAshton & https://instagram.com/ScrambledAshtonFollow our friends!• Billy Ray Walrus: https://twitter.com/BillyRayBotrus• Rules Boss: https://twitter.com/ThisIsRulesBoss• Barbara Pis: https://twitter.com/pis_barbaraThe TripleJump Podcast is hosted by Acast, but available on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and more!Acast: https://play.acast.com/s/triplejump See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
