The NBA has dropped the hammer on the Los Angeles Clippers.Basketball Hall of Famer and legendary NBA journalist J.A. Adande joins CP The Fanchise following the NBA's ruling in its salary-cap circumvention investigation involving Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers will forfeit five first-round draft picks, while Steve Ballmer has received a $30 million fine and one-year suspension. Lawrence Frank has also been suspended for six months.J.A. compares the punishment to the Minnesota Timberwolves' infamous Joe Smith scandal and examines what losing control of so many future draft picks could mean for the Clippers.Did Steve Ballmer's desperation to escape the Lakers' shadow ultimately lead the Clippers too far outside the lines?CP The Fanchise and J.A. discuss the pursuit of Kawhi Leonard, the alleged off-court income arrangements, the reporting that exposed the situation, Adam Silver's response and Kawhi's statement following the NBA ruling. The conversation then shifts to much happier territory for Knicks fans.J.A. reflects on witnessing the New York Knicks win their first NBA championship in 53 years, the atmosphere inside Madison Square Garden during the Finals and Mike Breen finally calling a Knicks championship. They also break down Jalen Brunson's historic rise.Brunson arrived in New York without the expectations of Patrick Ewing, Carmelo Anthony or the superstar free agents Knicks fans spent decades dreaming about. Four years later, he's an NBA champion and Finals MVP after scoring 45 points in the championship-clinching game.J.A. explains why Brunson's size makes the accomplishment so rare, why his financial sacrifice deserves more attention and how arriving without “savior” expectations may have helped him flourish.Plus, Mike Brown's evolution as a coach, Karl-Anthony Towns' buy-in, Leon Rose's roster construction, Mitchell Robinson's departure and J.A.'s reflections on an extraordinary Hall of Fame journalism career.Support the show

Hello and welcome again to the Motos and Friends Podcast. This episode is brought to you by the 34th Annual Biketoberfest October 15th to 18th * * * * * In our first segment this episode Don Williams takes us for a ride on arguably the most comfortable British take on the American cruiser: the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. It's a superbly relaxed motorcycle in an equally relaxed state of tune, so while you shouldn't be swayed by the “Speed” in its name, there's a lot more to the Speedmaster than you might imagine. * * * * * Now here's a really cool event you absolutely cannot miss—yes, we're rapidly approaching the 34th Annual Biketoberfest Rally in Daytona Beach, sunny Florida. Biketoberfest this year runs October 15th through the 18th. Biketoberfest is all about the beautiful Florida weather, live music, the industry's top vendors, bike shows, and motorcycle racing at Daytona International Speedway. And don't forget, there are miles of spectacular rides along the famous A1A, the historic Main Street and the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop. There really is something for everyone here, and almost every event and attraction is free to attend. So, if you want a fun few days out in the Florida sunshine, Biketoberfest really is the place to be. Make sure you download the Biketoberfest mobile App from Apple or Google Play or visit www.biketoberfest.org for more details. * * * * * In our second segment this episode Teejay Adams catches up with World Cup Bagger racer, Archie McDonald who first came on this podcast last December. Whether you've watched any of the World Bagger Cup racing or not, you've likely heard of it. Despite a lot of initial skepticism, the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup really seems to have captured the racing public's imagination. The Championship is now being led by Archie, and despite never having seen most of the tracks before, that he's beating several very experienced and highly talented competitors, shows what an amazing talent he is. Archie is also extremely mature for his just 19-years of age, and sadly, in the last few months he's had to grow up even faster after his older brother Toby took his own life in April. Archie brings us up to date with his racing for the Joe Rascal team, and he speaks candidly with Teejay about his brother and how Toby's passing has affected him. Fair warning: if you're sensitive to this topic please be careful listening to this segment, and if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, know that support is available. James Norwood joins Gaz and G Stop to chat about his career, from having trials once at Crystal Palace and missing a lads' holiday to Zante, right through to becoming a goalscoring phenomenon at Tranmere Rovers, playing for and being suspended by Ipswich Town, Joey Barton turning him down at Bristol Rovers, sneaking in an extra year at Barnsley, and regretting ever turning up at Oldham Athletic. Norwood doesn't hold back either. He talks about dealing with internet trolls, finding his next club, the managers he's worked under, some of the crazy moments from his career and the realities of life as a professional footballer travlling up and down the country chasing contracts. There's the story of missing a holiday to sign for Exeter City, some brilliant tales from Forest Green Rovers and why he now hates the club, choosing National League Tranmere Rovers over then-Championship side Burton Albion, scoring in a play-off final, and knocking Forest Green out of the League Two play-offs. We also get into his time at Ipswich Town, playing with his back to goal, injuries, being suspended and the problems that eventually saw him leave. And then there's Oldham... Norwood opens up about joining Oldham Athletic, wanting to leave after just one game, the fallout behind the scenes and why he ultimately regrets making the move. Plus, there's boozing before Leeds, questionable social media posts, mouldy showers and some brutally honest opinions on managers. Wolves scored six goals across two games, but deadline day has left supporters with plenty of questions. Sam, Harry and Jack begin with the 4-1 win over Stoke City as Rodrigo Gomes' quick-fire double turns the game around, Raul Jimenez keeps his nerve from the penalty spot and Jordan James makes another strong case for a starting place. Attention then turns to the chaotic 4-2 defeat at West Ham. The team discuss Wolves' electric opening, another defensive collapse and whether Ladislav Krejci and Santiago Bueno must now replace Toti Gomes at the back. With the transfer window closed, Harry and Jack deliver very different verdicts on Wolves' business. Did the club underdeliver on its promises, or does keeping players such as Krejci, Bueno, Andre and Mateus Mane make this a strong Championship squad? There is also reaction to Sean Neave's arrival and the departures of Hwang Hee-chan, Sasa Kalajdzic, Sam Johnstone and Joao Gomes. Finally, the team preview Sunday's trip to Birmingham City, debate whether Krejci and Jordan James should start and make their score predictions. Turnbuckle Tavern is powered by G FUEL and Official Dick Lazer. Use code TAVERN for 20% off at GFUEL.com and DickLazers.com. Episode 209 of Wrestling Tonight is all about the fallout from AEW All In 2026, as Wembley delivered a night filled with championship changes, major returns, surprising debuts and developments that could reshape several parts of the company moving forward. At the center of everything is Will Ospreay, who finally reached the top of AEW by defeating Kenny Omega to become AEW World Champion for the first time. Ospreay's championship victory was about considerably more than the result itself. AEW built the entire presentation around his journey to Wembley, bringing different pieces of his wrestling history together before he ever stepped into the ring with Omega. We get into the significance of the moment, what happened between Ospreay and Omega afterward and why the entire weekend felt like the culmination of something AEW has been building toward for a long time. The rest of All In gave us plenty to discuss. Mercedes Moné captured the AEW Women's World Championship, Jon Moxley won the first-ever Continental Challenge Cup and Kazuchika Okada reclaimed the International Championship, while Andrade finally earned the World title opportunity he has spent months pursuing. Several of those results also came with circumstances that make what happens next considerably more interesting than the title changes themselves. Darby Allin became TNT Champion for the third time in a Falls Count Anywhere match with Kevin Knight that somehow managed to get even crazier as it went along. Sting made a surprise return, Steven Borden became part of the story and Wembley got the kind of Darby Allin moment that will probably be replayed for years. We also get into what the TNT Championship still means to Darby and why returning to it at this point in his career carries a different significance. The AEW tag team picture also became considerably more crowded after Copeland and Christian Cage retained against the Young Bucks, with Motor City Machine Guns, FTR and New Level all emerging afterward. New Level had already made their presence felt earlier in the night, as Kofi and Austin Creed debuted alongside Swerve Strickland and immediately found themselves at the center of AEW's Trios division. Britt Baker also made her long-awaited return, giving AEW another major piece to work with coming out of Wembley. There is also a significant business story surrounding the aftermath of All In. Tony Khan came out of the weekend extremely positive about where AEW stands, confirmed the company will return to Wembley in 2027 and revealed additional plans for Liverpool and London. We get into what AEW's expanding UK schedule tells us about the importance of that market and some of the bigger possibilities created by the company's changing 2027 calendar. Outside of AEW, NXT Heatwave and AAA Ola de Calor produced a fascinating weekend in Texas. WWE reportedly came away surprised by the way the audience responded to AAA compared with NXT, creating an interesting conversation about what the company may have learned from putting the two shows together and what that response says about the audience WWE has inherited through AAA. Heatwave itself completely changed the NXT championship landscape. Grayson Waller became NXT Champion, Kelani Jordan finally captured the NXT Women's Championship and Zaria made history in the women's title unification match. Myles Borne also entered the show carrying two championships and experienced a complete collapse over the course of the night, ending with a major development involving Tavion Heights that went in a very different direction from what NXT had spent months teasing. Raw also established two major championship matches for WWE's upcoming Mexico City show. Penta defeated his brother Rey Fenix to earn a World Championship opportunity against Roman Reigns, while Dragon Lee will challenge Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship. We get into Penta's path to Roman, the significance of putting that match in Mexico City and what WWE established with the final image of Raw. Money in the Bank is also beginning to come into focus, with qualifying matches officially starting next week ahead of the October 10 event in New Orleans. After both of last year's winners successfully turned their briefcases into World championships, there is already an interesting backdrop to this year's field before WWE has even revealed who will make it into the ladder matches. Episode 209 of Wrestling Tonight covers the fallout from AEW All In 2026, Will Ospreay finally reaching the top of AEW, Sting's return, New Level's debut and the championship changes that reshaped Wembley, plus Tony Khan's plans for AEW's future in the UK. We also break down a chaotic NXT Heatwave, WWE's surprising takeaway from the AAA/NXT weekend, Penta earning his World title match against Roman Reigns and the beginning of the road to Money in the Bank.

It Is Officially Game Week! Leroy is exhausted preparing his home to sell, while the gang is pumped that they have officially made it to Canes Game Week 1! Hafley shares his thoughts on several players, especially rookie Chris Bell, and Tobin and Brittney discuss whether or not it is Championship or Bust for the Miami Hurricanes. Tobin explains why his Monday was ruined because of Eurobasket, while the guys react to Cam Ward clapping back at a reporter. Tua also gets caught in some social media controversy, leading to plenty of laughs and another edition of “Damage Is Done.” The gang hears from several college football coaches about the recent ruling involving NFL players who were cut being blocked from coming to college football. Miami Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan joins the conversation on building the team, before the guys dive into the Mixed Bag, including Joey Votto admitting he has never eaten nachos and Jon-Eric Sullivan discussing Malik Willis. Tony Romo releases a statement following his DUI arrest, Tobin's Eurobasket run comes to an end, and the Miami Marlins begin their series against the Kansas City Royals. Steph and Ayesha Curry's comments on his contract catch Tobin's attention, the guys circle back to Tua's Instagram mistake, and Tobin and Leroy go around the league with their expectations for the upcoming NFL season.

On this week's episode of The Joy of Football Podcast, Martin Tyler and Neil Barnett return to discuss another packed week of football, with Lionel Messi, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Hull City, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Elanga, Romeo Lavia, Jack Wilshere and Vinnie Jones all featuring, alongside two brand new additions to the podcast. In the first ever What I Saw This Week, Martin tells the extraordinary story of how Reading Festival wristbands nearly caused a Woking Academy match to be abandoned after a referee demanded that players cut them off. That leads into a wider discussion about the changing Laws of the Game, new rules around injuries and substitutions, time wasting and whether young footballers need to play the full 90 minutes more regularly to properly develop. There's also a bizarre tactical moment involving Middlesbrough captain Luke Ayling, a piece of paper and an attempt to stop West Bromwich Albion discovering his team's instructions. In Letter From The Gantry, Martin turns his attention to Hull City following the Tigers' outstanding return to the Premier League. Two games, two victories and two clean sheets have provided early optimism that Hull can do more than simply battle relegation following promotion from the Championship. Martin then travels almost 50 years into his own broadcasting past, remembering his first Hull City commentary against Blackpool at Boothferry Park on 6 November 1976, featuring Leeds United and Scotland legend Billy Bremner. Three of the Best begins with Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia, who finally has his first goal for the club after an injury-disrupted start to his Stamford Bridge career. His story prompts a wider conversation about Chelsea's squad building and whether clubs risk damaging youth development by creating too much competition for the same pathway into the first team. Martin also recounts meeting former Wimbledon footballer turned Hollywood actor Vinnie Jones and his former manager Dave Bassett, before discussing former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere and why his work as a young manager has left Martin seriously impressed. There's plenty of Manchester United discussion after Bruno Fernandes' hat trick, with Martin praising the United captain's confidence, quality and longevity at Old Trafford. Martin and Neil also debate whether individual awards should simply recognise the outstanding player regardless of their team's success. Anthony Elanga earns his place following an exciting start with Newcastle United. After spells with Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, Elanga is beginning to show his quality at St James' Park, becoming the first Newcastle player since Alan Shearer in 2003 to score in both of the club's opening two league matches of a season. Finally, the new Thanks for the Joy feature begins with Lionel Messi's retirement from international football. Martin and Neil look back across Messi's remarkable Argentina career, from his extraordinary international debut to becoming a World Cup winner and Copa América champion, while discussing his place alongside Pelé, Ferenc Puskás and Cristiano Ronaldo among football's greatest ever players. But it's not simply a celebration. Neil questions whether Messi was truly one of international football's greatest players throughout his entire career and argues that his 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball was undeserved. They discuss the dramatic transformation of Messi's Argentina legacy, Lionel Scaloni, Emiliano Martínez, the 2022 World Cup and the extraordinary final chapter of one of football's greatest careers. #PremierLeague #MartinTyler #PremierLeague2026 #FootballPodcast #PremierLeagueNews #Football #TheJoyOfFootball #TheJoyOfFootball #MartinTyler #NeilBarnett #PremierLeague #LionelMessi #BrunoFernandes #ManchesterUnited #ChelseaFC #NewcastleUnited #HullCity #AnthonyElanga #RomeoLavia #JackWilshere #VinnieJones #FootballPodcast Hosted by The Revive Lounge Ltd UCsdye1hUxP4xhgBx9zvuSjg Subscribe to https://youtube.com/@TheReviveLounge?si=L5ddzrJrtSmErtJ5 Support the Pod https://patreon.com/TheJoysofFootballPodcast?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLink Read us on Substack https://martintylerandneilbarnett.substack.com/ Follow our Twitter https://x.com/TheJOF Follow our Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@joy_of_football_pod?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Follow our Instagram https://https://www.instagram.com/joy_of_football_pod/ Contact us via: therevivelounge@gmail.com Music by Arron Clague - https://www.instagram.com/arronclague?igsh=aHg1bjQ3OHpmaXIz Intro Sequence by Wellong Sadewo (wells.illustration): https://www.instagram.com/wells.illustration/ Learn more about your ad choices. It's three disappointing results in a short space of time - is this simply an early-season blip, or are there signs of deeper problems at Burnley FC? Has the optimism around the summer/return to the Championship already started to disappear? How much patience should supporters have with Nicky Hayen?
Southampton responded in emphatic fashion at St Mary's, putting five past early Championship leaders Millwall in an impressive 5-1 victory.Neil Crespin is joined by Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour and Alfie House to break down a much-needed Saints win. After another slow start, the panel discusses what suddenly clicked, the attacking performance that followed and whether this can be the result that really gets Tonda Eckert's side moving. There's also plenty to say about two very different debuts. Keven Schlotterbeck made an immediate impression at the heart of the defence, while James Ward-Prowse returned to St Mary's and quickly reminded supporters what he can offer. How much have the pair strengthened this Southampton side?Attention then turns to what could be a frantic Tuesday. Saints travel to Birmingham looking to carry the momentum from the Millwall win, while the transfer window closes later that evening. The panel assesses the possible departures, where the squad could still be strengthened and whether there might be one final deadline-day arrival. But can Saints back it up at Birmingham and start climbing the Championship table?Become a Total SaintTSP is proudly supported by our Patreon community of more than 600 Saints fans.
