Rumors Not News from Orwell, Vermont
If you're craving the nostalgic feeling of Car Talk, then look no further than The Orwell Bugler podcast. This delightful show captures the same vibe of two friends coming together to have a great time, cracking jokes, and delivering valuable information. However, instead of discussing car repair, The Orwell Bugler focuses on the happenings in a small town in Vermont. As someone who lives just a few miles from the host's general store, I can personally vouch for Andy as the real deal. While I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Joe yet, his allegiance to the Yankees does make me slightly suspicious. Nevertheless, he seems like a genuinely good guy.
The best aspect of The Orwell Bugler is undoubtedly its ability to keep listeners informed about what's happening in town while they are away. It provides an excellent way to stay connected and up-to-date on local news and events. Beyond that, it never fails to bring a good laugh with its light-hearted banter and bad jokes. Additionally, I find the incorporation of local history fascinating and eagerly await each new episode to learn more about this charming small town in Vermont.
However, like any podcast, The Orwell Bugler has some less-than-perfect aspects as well. While I thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie between Andy and Joe, there are moments when their jokes can become a bit cheesy or forced. This might not be everyone's cup of tea and could potentially be off-putting for some listeners. Furthermore, as much as I appreciate the focus on small-town news and history, there may be times when it feels too niche for broader appeal. Those who are not interested in this specific topic might find themselves losing interest over time.
In conclusion, The Orwell Bugler fills a void in the podcast world that has been sorely missed since Car Talk bid farewell. With its unique concept of sharing happenings in a small Vermont town, it offers both laughs and useful information. Andy and Joe bring their own personalities to the show, making it an enjoyable listen. While there are moments of cheesy jokes and a potentially limited appeal due to its niche topic, The Orwell Bugler is a podcast that keeps listeners connected to the charm of small-town life.

We go all the way down to Chipman Point Marina, and then when we can't drive into the lake, we head back east all the way to Mutton Square Road, and then over to Knox Hill before we stop on Andy's family's land where he shoots a squirrel. After that, we head down Knox Hill, across Young Road, and then to the northern part of town where we loop over Hibbard Hill, down Daigneault Hill, head across 22A, and then back to 73 to end up in front of Andy's store were we interview the State Biologists that were in front of the store for Youth and Novice Weekend. This entire episode occurs in real time, so you could literally drive our route and listen to us talk, if you're interested in doing that sort of thing.
