Here are some takes: 1. Weird as it sounds to say about the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts is officially holding the Eagles back. 2. NFL teams should make like MLB and hold locker-room celebrations after every playoff win. 3. The existence of Myles Garrett proves you shouldn't break the bank on defensive players. With baseball season fading into the shadows, we're shifting from home runs to haunted halls as we make our way to Brew City. Once again, we're packin' up the Ope, A Ghost van and headed off on another virtual road trip. This time, we're creeping into the eerie elegance of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our spooktacular itinerary is packed with ghostly grandeur — from the stately (and maybe not-so-empty) mansions of beer barons like Captain Pabst, to a lighthouse, to a college campus that might just have more students on the other side. We're even making a late-night stop at The Rave where laughter from unseen children sometimes echoes through the halls. And if we're lucky… or unlucky… we might just cross paths with the enigmatic Dr. Borhegyi, a man whose legend only grew stronger after death. Milwaukee may be best known for brats and brews, but don't be fooled — it's also brimming with spirits of a different kind. Kansas is a big place, and not one particularly well-known for national park destinations. But that doesn't mean you should overlook the Sunflower State. In the closing days of September, as the country seemed destined for a government shutdown, the Traveler's Kurt Repanshek and Patrick Cone headed into Kansas to visit some of the parks there to better understand their role in the National Park System. And we were not disappointed. Back in 2022 Kurt made a similar trip, and stopped at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in the Flint Hills of central Kansas. During that stop Ranger Eric Patterson gave Kurt a wonderful tour of the preserve and explained its history. Eric has moved on, but during Kurt and Patrick's recent visit Heather Brown, the preserve's chief of interpretation, sat down with them to discuss the preserve in general and the tallgrass prairie specifically. During their swing through Kansas, Kurt and Patrick also headed to Nicodemus, a well-off-the-beaten path destination in the National Park System, one so far off the beaten path that the state of Kansas does Nicodemus National Historic Site a tremendous disservice by providing very little signage showing you how to get to Nicodemus. But stay determined and you can find the site. While the Park Service only claims five buildings at Nicodemus, and only two are open, the history of how the townsite was founded in post-Civil War America by more than 300 previously enslaved peoples is an uplifting history of self-determination, grit, and perseverance. What follows are two conversations they had with rangers – before they were furloughed when the government shut down – at the two sites, LueCreasea Horne Horn at Nicodemus National Historic Site and Heather Brown at Tallgrass prairie.

Welcome to the Fore Golfers Network/Michigan Golf Live Podcast Ep 499 - Black Desert Resort - Golf Paradise In Utah This is the first installment of a new fall travel series where we showcase a fantastic selection of awesome golf destinations around the nation. We begin near Saint George, Utah at Black Desert Resort. Nestled among red rock cliffs, black lava fields, and expansive desert horizons, Black Desert Resort is a fresh icon in luxury, golf, wellness, and adventure. The resort spans roughly 600 acres and blends high-end hospitality with rugged natural beauty. Its signature feature is a Tom Weiskopf–designed 19-hole championship golf course (with a bonus “19th hole”) carved through lava rock terrain and framed by vermilion cliffs—his final architectural masterpiece. This awesome course was the final design of Weiskopf's career and the resort has already drawn national attention, hosting both PGA TOUR and LPGA events, marking the return of a professional tour to Utah after more than six decades. ⛳ The Golf Experience At Black Desert, every round is immersive. You'll enjoy 15-minute tee times, GPS carts with hole-by-hole commentary, full practice facilities including a 36-hole illuminated putting green, and a forecaddie for your group. The course stretches to over 7,200 yards, demanding both strategy and creativity through its volcanic terrain and daring elevation changes. Your green fee even includes food and nonalcoholic beverages served at Oasis and Club 73 during your round, adding to the all-inclusive golf experience that sets Black Desert apart.
Buckle up for another fun-filled episode of Wise_N_Nerdy with Charles and Joe as they dive into fandom, family, and fatherhood with plenty of laughs along the way. This week kicks off with the Question of the Week: “Who is the worst or best fictional character to have as a road trip guest?” The hosts play a variety of hilarious speakpipes and share their own picks, from Percy Jackson to David from Jumper—and even Pokémon like Muk and Jigglypuff. With the traditional roll of the dice guiding the show, the first stop is the Parliament of Papas segment, where Charles and Joe tackle the tricky topic of whether or not you're truly required to socialize in the workplace. From there, it's time for Daddy, Tell Me A Story, where Joe shares a surprising tale about his grandfather—who just happened to be a “hippo whisperer.” Yes, you read that right. He knew the trick to get hippos at the zoo to open their mouths so visitors could pet their tongues!Of course, no episode would be complete without some bad dad jokes—this time centered around executioners. After the laughs, the dice bring us to the How Do I...? segment, where the discussion gets real about how to handle bullies, offering advice that's practical for kids and adults alike. The hosts also share more community speakpipes, including several from listener CaseyJay, sparking fun discussions about K-Pop Demon Hunters and the funny things kids repeat that they probably shouldn't.Finally, the What Are You Nerding Out About? segment brings everything home. Charles opens up about some of the real-life stresses and guilt that come with managing income and responsibility, while Joe closes things out with a glowing recommendation of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman—describing it as Hunger Games meets Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with the fun, chaotic mechanics of games like Diablo. If you're looking to laugh, learn, and connect, this episode is packed with stories, jokes, and nerdy goodness that prove why Wise_N_Nerdy is the place to Find your FAMdom.Wise_N_Nerdy: Where Fatherhood Meets Fandom

The weather is cooling down here in Louisiana, which means outdoor events are heating up across our state. Out on the Cajun Prairie, Le Grand Hoorah, a festival dedicated to the music, food, and culture of the people of Acadiana, is coming up November 1st. The annual event turns 10 this year – and to celebrate, Louisiana Eats brings you highlights from our road trip to attend Le Grand Hoorah in 2017. We begin in downtown Mamou, where our gracious host Valerie Cahill gives us a grand welcome at the historic Hotel Cazan. After grabbing breakfast down the road at the charming Krazy Cajun Cafe, we cross the street to visit Mamou's world-famous dancing and drinking destination, Fred's Lounge. Over spicy Bloody Marys and cheap beer, Camille Fonteneau talks to us about the important role the local AM radio station KVPI has played in the community and in her life. On our way to La Grand Hoorah, we learn why Ville Platte holds the title of "Smoked Meat Capital of the World." We make a pit stop at Paul's Meat Market and Grocery, where many locals and out-of-towners purchase their meat. We then meet Kermit Miller, the man behind "the barbecue sauce with a Cajun accent," Jack Miller's Barbecue Sauce. Continuing a family tradition begun by his father Jack in 1955, Kermit's family recipe has found a following across the country. Finally, we arrive at Chicot State Park, where hundreds of people from around Louisiana, and the world, were gathered for Le Grand Hoorah. We hear music performances by Cajun youngsters and meet the brains behind the festival, Gilbert "Winkie" Aucoin. Winkie explains why he is dedicated to the preservation of his culture. We also eat our weight in cracklins and boudin, thanks to the tireless efforts of individuals like Toby Ryder, an expert in the art of traditional Cajun boucherie. We end our show by learning about NOLA Nite Market, another outdoor Louisiana event happening in Westwego on November 14th and 15th. The evening bazaar features a plethora of authentic Asian street foods created by local mom and pop restaurants – complete with live music and artisan wares. NOLA Nite Market founder Thuy Pham tells us what to expect at the nighttime fete. For more of all things Louisiana Eats, be sure to visit us at PoppyTooker.com.

#853 - Road Trip, Dudley Ilse, 9-28-2025 by The Water Hole
The US State Department has changed their safety ratings for Mexico. The only places in the country where, according to the US State Department, you can just go as freely as you might to, say, Washington, DC, would be Campeche and Yucatan. Everywhere else in Mexico it's suggested that you should “exercise increased caution.” Some places I love to go, like Jalisco, Baja California, Chiapas, and Queretaro, I'm told I should “reconsider travel.” And my beloved Michoacan and Guerrero are “do not travel” zones, according to the US State Department. So … what does this mean for gringx bartenders?Agave Road Trip is a critically acclaimed, award-winning podcast that helps gringx bartenders better understand agave, agave spirits, and rural Mexico. This episode is hosted by Lou Bank with special guest Linda Sullivan of seynasecreto.Episode NotesThe cover to this episode is everything to me. The art is by Gilbert Hernandez — Beto, of Los Bros Hernandez, creators of the comics series Love and Rockets. When I was a 15- or 16-year-old kid, this comic book showed me that comics could tell any story. The magical realism that Beto and his brothers Jaime and Mario depicted in Mexico and Southern California stuck with me. I think a lot of the joy I feel when I'm traveling in rural Mexico now is the discovery of images that they planted in my teenage brain. I was a comics geek growing up — mainly Marvel with a bit of DC on the side. Then some of the alternative superhero stuff when that started popping in the 1980s. But Los Bros Hernandez showed me a whole different world. That realization of the broader stories that could be told through the medium didn't redirect the trajectory that I was on in the business side of comics. I landed at Marvel when I was 21 years old, where I made so many friends who are still friends to this day. The angry, sarcastic Greg Wright was one of those friends — is one of those friends, though now he's neither angry nor sarcastic having become a gentle and loving father who now goes by the more gentle and loving name Gregory Wright. Gregory stepped up to color this amazing Beto art.And the initial reason for commissioning the art? Since 2021, the National Museum of Mexican Art has welcomed me to help organize their annual spirited fund-raiser, Copitas de Sol. I get to drag in a bunch of spirits brands and a bunch of restaurants and bars, and I get to commission art like this. This cover will be one half of the poster for next year's Copitas de Sol, which will occur some time in August. And wait until you see the second half!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

But even if you've driven overseas, Australia comes with its own set of challenges, especially when you venture off the beaten path.

He's a really well-known icon and stylist here in the Twin Cities, and I just can't wait to see what he pulls together. And then on Saturday, there is a vintage market where you can shop a lot of the vendors that provided a lot of the clothes and pieces that we saw in the show the night before.I think it'll be a really good time to be inspired to maybe pick up some vintage to mix and match with your modern clothes.— Leslie Firkins
There's no better way to experience Australia than hitting the road. Between the wide-open landscapes, country bakery pies, and unexpected wildlife, a road trip lets you take in the country at your own pace. But even if you've driven overseas, Australia comes with its own set of challenges, especially when you venture off the beaten path.

I have always loved the idea of the great American road trip, romanticised in so many films and books. So, this episode I am delighted to have photographer Ben Geier to tell us about his decade traveling America on the road, his tips for the perfect great American road trip, and the nostalgia of America's forgotten towns.Ben shares his tips for the perfect cross-country road trip, why the architecture and design work of the 50s and 60s still speaks to us today, and why America is still a magical place to get a little bit lost. There's no doubting the beauty of the design and architecture of the '50s and '60s America. From bright teal, sun-splashed and gleaming motel signs to cherry red diner seats, these two decades have held America's attention for 75 years. American photographer Ben Geier has spent the last decade traveling the United States to capture the images of his country's once vibrant and now abandoned treasures in his new book Viewing Hours. Evoking a sense of nostalgia and solitude, Geier's work highlights the modernist architecture, minimalist design, and muted colour palette of the mid-century. Happy Sunday!! This week we round out Jenna Levine's Vampire Series with Road Trip With A Vampire. We hope you enjoy this episode and don't forget to check out our socials here as they are the best way to keep up with all the fun and exciting things that we have coming down the line!! Summary: A vampire who can't remember his past and a witch with secrets of her own hit the road in this zany, cross-country romantic comedy from beloved author Jenna Levine. Reformed bad witch Grizelda “Zelda” Watson had hoped to never see another vampire again when she slipped away to sunny California for a fresh start. She'd grown tired of them and their nonsense ages ago. But when a vampire with amnesia unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep with a letter from her old friend Reggie, and asks for her help, she can't say no. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Peter Elliott is tall and gorgeous, looks great in yoga shorts, and has the kind of dark hair and surly expression Zelda's been a sucker for for hundreds of years. Peter isn't completely harmless—he is fanged, after all—but he's harmless enough, and soon becomes the only person in Zelda's new life who knows the truth about what she is. If she can help him decipher the cryptic notes in his journal, the only clues to his lost memories, she might as well try before sending him on his way. But when an alarming message from Peter's past coincides with a clear sign that Zelda can't keep running from her own, they embark on a cross-country road trip for answers—only to find what they're looking for in each other.
