And we're not just talking about the show in the sky on the 4th of July. As you know, President Trump wants the "big, beautiful bill" on his desk to sign his tax cuts permanently into law. But first, some messiness in the Senate is causing angst. Too many changes, then it heads back to the House who barely passed their version weeks ago. Can these two chambers of Congress get on the same page with a week to go? Stigall gets down in the weeds today on this so you're fully up to speed on where it stands and who's on what side of these issues. The former Secretary of the US Senate - Kelly Johnston returns to share perspective on this person you're hearing about called the Senate parliamentarian who's derailing hugely important parts of this bill. But as you'll learn, this person shouldn't and technically doesn't have the power to stop anything. Meanwhile, Congressman Scott Perry on the House side joins us to handicap what's in store when the Senate version passes and makes it way back to a House debate. It's sausage making, but important to know. Plus, Michelle Tafoya on Pete Hegseth referring to "our boys" during the strike on Iran last week, Simone Biles, Caitlin Clark and more. Post-Dispatch podcasts page: https://go.stltoday.com/0hfn43 Please consider subscribing: https://go.stltoday.com/9aigz5 After his barehanded play on a slow-rolling grounder ended Tuesday night's game against the Cubs with a stirring, 8-7 Cardinals victory, third baseman Nolan Arenado talked about how much it meant to play meaningful, tense, important games against an archrival. He said he woke up excited, and hadn't been this eager to get to the ballpark in almost two years. A day early, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said he wouldn't be the "hype man" for the series. The oldest rivalry in Major League Baseball between two teams that have not left their cities, Cubs-Cardinals was long defined by one team's brand as champion and the other as lovable losers, but that's so Y2K, man. Now the rivalry happens in cycles, and for the first time in several years the Cardinals and Cubs were snug in the standings when they played this past week at Busch Stadium. Does that give the rivalry renewed verve, or does the change in schedule make it just another division series? Chicago Tribune baseball writer and Cubs beat writer Meghan Montemurro joins the Best Podcast in Baseball for a conversation at Busch Stadium (listen to that determined A/C) about the current state of the rivalry and if it has the same heat in Chicago that it experienced from the St. Louis side this past week. The pressure is on the Cardinals to chase down the Cubs, and the pressure on the Cubs, with only one guaranteed year of standout player Kyle Tucker, appears to be on winning and advancing in October now. How should that shape their trade deadline decisions? How can they shape the Cardinals' trade deadline decisions? Cubs president Jed Hoyer is in the final year of his contract, and Cardinals president John Mozeliak is in the final year of his tenure leading the Cardinals' baseball operations. Change is coming, potentially to both teams, adding another twist to the rivalry. Plus, BPIB host Derrick Goold, asks Montemurro about his theory that maybe instead of the National League Central rivals spurring the Cubs to spend like a bigger market it will be their neighborhoods on the South Side as the White Sox welcome in a new investor. A split four-game series at Busch Stadium between the Cardinals and Cubs left nothing settled between the two teams, and the final game of the series (a 3-0 victory and second consecutive shutout by the Cubs) ended with both teams emptying their dugouts to almost confront each on the field. Tempers cooled quickly, but the stage is set for their next week within two weeks for Fourth of July at Wrigley Field. Will there be fireworks? The Best Podcast in Baseball, in its 13th year as one of the leading baseball podcasts, is sponsored by Closets by Design of St. Louis. It is a production of StlToday.com, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Derrick Goold.

In this lively episode of the Five Heart Podcast, host Minnie kicks off the show solo while Greg arrives fashionably late. With help from Husker Chuck and several other Holgor-Maniacs, the gang dives into a Mount Rushmore of the most iconic plays in Nebraska football—at least within each fan's era of fandom. Husker Chuck recalls Corey Schlesinger's second touchdown in the 1995 Orange Bowl, Alex Henery's 57-yard field goal in 2008, and even a bone-jarring hit in the 1978 win over Oklahoma. James and Joe submit their picks, including Johnny Rodgers' 1971 punt return, the “Flea Kicker,” the “Fumblerooski,” and Levante David's strip of Braxton Miller. Greg reveals his personal top four, which includes Tommy Hill's 2023 pick-six against Colorado. Minnie, proudly representing newer fans, lists more emotional moments like the red-light show at Memorial Stadium and Dylan Raiola's commitment. The show blends humor, Husker nostalgia, and strong community vibes. Fans relive great moments while good-naturedly teasing Minnie for her unconventional picks—especially when she lists “fireworks” as a favorite play. Up next week: Boneheaded Husker plays.
Marcus Ray (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and Tommy Hendricks (Rob Schneider) are fashion designers. Should this summary even continue? You know you're already in. Well, if that's not enough, these gents get involved in a terrorist smuggling ring, and now, with the help of Karen Lee (Leia Rochon), they will find out who is behind all of these dastardly deeds. Will they figure it out before fashion week? Also, we have to get ready for the Hong Kong going back to Chinese rule party. Fireworks aplenty! It gets chilly at night. Good thing Harry (Paul Sorvino) has the appropriate evening windbreaker. RTS gets some dim sum and sets fashion trends by day/fight atop cargo containers at night. Please, pass the chili oil. Jeremy finds out about the nano bombs in his counterfeit jeans (trousers). La-Mar chats up detective Ling Ho (Carman Lee). Things seem to be working out. Collin takes a cue from Han (Michel Wong) to jump out of boats and away from grenades. It works well! Lots of attempted twists in this flick, but these fellas wouldn't knock you off. Would they? Who's the Jean genie here, Skinny (Glen Chin)?
