Evan Roberts, Tiki Barber and Shaun Morash debate the most memorable return homes in New York sports history, sparked by Odell Beckham Jr. rejoining the Giants. From Andy Pettitte's Yankees comeback to Mark Messier's Rangers return and Roger Clemens' dramatic Bronx reappearance, the conversation turns into a spirited ranking of which reunions actually mattered.
Odell Beckham Jr. is back with the Giants, but Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber explain why the real story is not nostalgia. The signing raises bigger questions about Malik Nabers' health, the Giants' wide receiver depth, and what this offense may actually look like under John Harbaugh. Evan and Tiki debate whether Beckham is a meaningful contributor or simply a low risk veteran invite, while also digging into Juju Smith Schuster, Braxton Berrios, roster competition, and the troubling uncertainty around Nabers' timeline. They also touch on the Yankees closing in on Tampa Bay and whether the Giants should have been in the mix for Myles Garrett.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin and Rich discuss the outlook for Washington's 2026 season including Jayden Daniels' mindset after an injury-riddled sophomore year, the team drafting fellow Ohio State Buckeye Sonny Styles, and more. Evan Roberts and Shaun Morash close out the segment by weighing Knicks fans' growing confidence against the one undeniable problem San Antonio presents: Victor Wembanyama. Callers wonder whether the Knicks should expect to sweep, but Evan pushes back by pointing to Wembanyama's rare skill set and the way he can change a series even if New York has the better overall path. The guys debate whether the Spurs can win a title without the usual playoff scars, compare San Antonio's rise to past NBA champions, and explain why the Knicks look more battle tested. They also touch on a wild Yankees inning, the Mets sweeping Miami, and Evan's concern that the Mets' upcoming West Coast trip could reveal whether the recent success is real.
The NBA Finals matchup is set, and Evan Roberts and Shaun Morash dive into why the Knicks may have landed the best possible opponent in the San Antonio Spurs. Even with Victor Wembanyama looking like the best player in the series, the conversation centers on whether San Antonio's emotional Game 7 win over Oklahoma City could lead to a letdown against a Knicks team that has looked locked in throughout its playoff run. Evan and Shaun break down the experience gap, the pressure on both sides, the lessons from the NBA Cup matchup, and how Mike Brown could handle Wembanyama, Mitchell Robinson, Karl Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and the Knicks rotation. They also mix in caller reaction, Evan's Nets frustration, Yankees and Mets talk, and a few detours that only this show could produce.
We talked about Mitchell Robinson's pinky injury and are trying to figure out how he got it since it wasn't basketball related. Also, the size of Wemby's feet, which Gio said are still growing. Jerry with the sounds of Mike Brown talking about the upcoming series with the Spurs. The Yankees had a 13-run third inning to beat the A's. The Mets beat the Marlins and complete the sweep as Carson Benge led off with a HR. The Giants are working out a few veteran receivers, not just Odell. A female caller can't believe a male caller said his wife wouldn't let him watch the Knicks.
Jaxson Dart, Abdul Carter and Jameis Winston spoke in front of the media on Friday about Dart introducing President Trump at a rally. Gio hopes this is the last time it's addressed as it continues to go on for no reason. Odell Beckham Jr to the Giants still has legs. Boomer said even if he signs, he may not be on the opening day roster. We also talked about the Yankees scoring 13 runs in a 43 minute top of the third. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio tells us about picking up his mother-in-law at JFK on Friday. We heard Mike Brown talking about his past with the Spurs but said he wants to ‘kick their ass'. We heard the sounds of the Yankees from the 13-run third. John Harbaugh was a guest on the Mark Schlereth podcast and he asked him about the Dart/Carter situation. A caller wants an intervention with Tommy Lugauer with his Knicks confidence.
We started with the Spurs beating the Thunder to set up Knicks/Spurs in the Finals. We also talked about Mitchell Robinson's injured pinky. Gio said it's going to feel weird if they lose a game this series because it's been so long. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and we heard from Mike Brown on facing the Spurs & Wemby. KAT gave a shoutout to Jeremy Lin for making him a Knicks fan. The Yankees scored 13 runs in the third including a Ben Rice 2-run triple. Juan Soto hit a grand slam to put the game out of reach as they swept the Marlins. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls on the upcoming Knicks/Spurs series. Good news for Mitchell Robinson as Mike Francesa knows the surgeon.
Today's Boomer & Gio was dominated by heavy Knicks-Spurs Finals hype, breaking down Mitchell Robinson's bizarre pinky injury, Mike Brown's thoughts on stopping Wemby, and the sheer surrealness of New York finally playing for a ring. On the diamond, both local teams completed sweeps, highlighted by a mind-boggling, 13-run third inning from the Yankees. The guys rounded out the morning tackling the political fallout from college QB Jaxson Dart's viral Trump rally intro, Odell Beckham Jr.'s rumored return to the Giants, and classic banter ranging from NYC squeegee guys to AI Dave Simms.

When the Toronto Blue Jays went on their incredible World Series run last season, there was plenty of hope that it was the start of what could be a dominant run by a stacked team. Fast forward to 2026, and Toronto finds itself in a bit of a sticky situation. Although, based on last year's success, all hope might not be lost just yet. On this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jordan Shusterman is joined by special guests Ben Nicholson-Smith and Shi Davidi to break down what has gone wrong this year for the reigning American League champions and whether injuries are the main reason for their sluggish first two months. Even though the Blue Jays might be nine games back in the AL East, they currently hold a Wild Card spot, and with players returning from the IL, it still could be a very exciting summer in Canada. Also on this episode, Jordan and Ben talk about the remarkable turnaround season the Chicago White Sox are having, which sees them sitting just one game back in the AL Central while also occupying a Wild Card spot. Instead of being sellers at the deadline, they could find themselves as buyers. However, with the injury to rookie sensation Munetaka Murakami, will the White Sox be able to tread water until he returns? The guys then discuss the Seattle Mariners' use of piggyback pitching, the New York Yankees continuing to impress and their thoughts on the latest power rankings. 2:37 - The Opener: White Sox roll on 19:54 - Nationals also offering a turnaround 35:01 - Issues plaguing the Blue Jays 51:30 - State of Toronto pitching and hitting 1:09:27 - Around the League: Mariners pitching strategy 1:21:38 - Power rankings thoughts Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

Hour 4: Losing is not an option for the Knicks and a good weekend for the Yankees and Mets. A Knicks championship can end the obsession with the title-less 90s team.

First, they cover the importance of Howard breaking the color barrier in 1955 for the most storied franchise in baseball history (9:59). Next, they discuss Howard's clutchness in Game 7 of the 1958 World Series and why Buster Posey getting into the HOF could help Howard's case (18:53). Finally, they rank the best catchers of the 1950s and 1960s (45:05), before making a final call on whether Howard belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame (59:49).

President of the New York Yankees and Chairman of the Presidential Committee on College Sports Randy Levine joins the Brian Kilmeade Show to pull back the curtain on a revolutionary, bipartisan Senate bill designed to save college sports. Levine exposes the backroom "collectives" and under-the-table financial schemes bypassing current salary limits, which are forcing universities to cut vital Olympic and women's sports. He lays out the hard rules of the new legislation—including a strict transfer portal cap, age limits, and the federal registration of agents—and issues a blunt challenge to major universities to prove if they are serious about protecting student-athletes or just running a sham. On the latest episode of Past Our Prime, we dive into one of the most memorable moments in baseball history — the May 31, 1976 cover of Sports Illustrated that captured a dramatic home plate confrontation between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. The cover photograph, shot by Neil Leifer, showed Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk (#27) making a tag out on Yankees outfielder Lou Piniella (#14), with home plate umpire Terry Cooney visible in the frame. Piniella was ruled out at home, but the collision sparked a bench-clearing brawl, and the cover's headline captured the rivalry perfectly: "Head-On Collision in the East — Speeding Yanks Run Into the Sputtering Red Sox." The brawl turned ugly when Yankees third baseman Graig Nettles and Boston pitcher Bill Lee fought so fiercely that Lee suffered a separation of his left shoulder, significantly affecting the rest of his pitching career. It remains one of the most iconic covers in the magazine's history, perfectly encapsulating the fierce and often physical rivalry between the two American League East rivals. Steve "Psycho" Lyons carved out a nine-year MLB career with the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox — where he was a teammate of Carlton Fisk — the Atlanta Braves, and Montreal Expos. He earned his nickname through antics like playing tic-tac-toe in the infield dirt and famously pulling his pants down after sliding into first base — a blooper reel staple for years. After retiring, Lyons became a three-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster for Fox Sports, where he worked alongside Lou Piniella, before later joining NESN as a Red Sox studio analyst — proving, as he once said, that he talked about the game better than he played it. Lyons gives us incredible insight into Fisk, the Hall of Fame catcher, and reveals that for some reason, the serious Fisk would let the younger Lyons give him the business. He recounts how Fisk told Deion Sanders to run out a popup — leading to yet another bench-clearing incident — and how Fisk, as captain of the White Sox, was the hardest worker in the clubhouse. Lyons also takes us inside that iconic cover shot of Fisk and Piniella colliding at the plate and the brawl that followed, and reflects on how the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry back then was a whole different animal compared to today. And he tells us how he wishes he'd had the opportunity to play for Piniella, who brought that same fire to the game that Lyons himself always did — and yes, he sets the record straight on how he really got the nickname "Psycho," and no, it had nothing to do with dropping his pants in the middle of a game.
