Do we just not like it? In this episode, I'm talking all things drug allergies with Dr. Marico Dove. Hailing from the great state of North Carolina, Dr. Dove brings years of clinical experience and a unique pharmacy practice perspective to the podcast. Why Monistat Does Not Belong On Your Scalp

There are different types and treatments for alopecia or hair loss. The condition is so life-altering and such a gut punch to one's self esteem, that the search for an effective treatment can send one down some rabbit holes. There is this notion that Monistat, an over-the-counter cream for vaginal yeast infection, is appropriate to treat scalp alopecia and that is just incorrect. Monistat = for vaginal yeast infection treatment only. Nizoral (generic ketoconazole) shampoo available over-the-counter = appropriate for scalp fungal treatment. Prescription strength ketoconazole available as a shampoo, cream, gel or foam. Selsun Blue over-the-counter = appropriate for dandruff caused by a fungus. @doctorlany on IG, FB, Tik Tok and Snap Chat.
