Emily Wilson isn't afraid to call out the real enemy. After years in women's ministry and her own battles with shame, insecurity, and toxic relationship patterns, she's seen the devil's playbook up close. Inspired by C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters, Emily flips the script with a bold new book written from the perspective of a senior demon training a junior one—exposing how the enemy targets women with lies about their worth, their bodies, their relationships, and their calling. In this interview, Emily shares how to stop playing defense and start fighting back—offering powerful, practical ways to trade stress for surrender and silence the voice that says, you're not enough.Emily's book: https://www.amazon.com/Sincerely-Stoneheart-Unmask-Enemys-Truth/dp/1400249724Emily's channel: https://www.youtube.com/@emwilss/featuredNEW: Join our exclusive Rose Report community! https://lilaroseshow.supercast.com - We'll have BTS footage, ad-free episodes, monthly AMA, and early access to our upcoming guests.A big thanks to our partner, EWTN, the world's leading Catholic network! In recent years, gluten-free diets have become more and more popular. No doubt you've seen “Free From” aisles in your local supermarket, and you can also get gluten-free items in health food shops or online. Some people have no choice but to adopt such a diet, because they have coeliac disease, a lifelong autoimmune condition which causes their body to attack its own tissue when gluten is consumed. According to Coeliac UK, the condition affects just 1% of the population. However, there have been claims that going gluten-free has benefits like weight loss, increased energy and improved overall health, but there's little in the way of research to back all that up. So, what is it about gluten that causes health problems ? Which foods contain gluten ? How can you tell if you really have Coeliac disease ? First of all, we are old. Like, what is happening?! My allergies are out here fighting for their life, and Dex's back is giving up on her. If y'all have any remedies for allergies that don't involve me living in a bubble, let me know because I am struggling. But let's get into it—this week, we had a very heated debate over Ayesha Howard and Anthony Howard. Listen, I just have questions—like, is it okay to still be making major mistakes at 38 when choosing who to have a baby with? Because at some point, shouldn't we be making better decisions? Meanwhile, Dex is over here saying we're all making assumptions about Ayesha's situation, and she deserves more grace. And the big question—should a woman give up her baby just because the man makes it clear he doesn't want to be involved? Whew. We got into it. Speaking of bad decisions at our big age, we took a little detour to talk about the Take It Down Act—which, yes, is being pushed by Melania Trump. It's aimed at protecting people from revenge porn, but it had us asking—are grown people still sending nudes in 2025? Then we switch gears to 19-year-old Aleyshia Ortiz, who is out here suing her school district for graduating her without knowing how to read or write. WHO is to blame for this? The school system? Her parents? Dex is out here calling for George Bush's standardized testing (who knew she'd miss that?!), and I—Carla—am putting this one on her mama.Because how do you not notice your child can't read?! We need to hear from y'all! Should Ayesha have kept the baby? Are we too old to be sending nudes? And who do we blame for Aleyshia's situation? Hit us up! Let's talk about it.

Can you slow down the atopic march and prevent kids from developing more allergic diseases? Type 2 inflammation plays a central role in allergic diseases, which impact children from infancy through adulthood. From eczema and asthma to food allergies and allergic rhinitis, these conditions are all connected through an underlying immune response: Type 2 inflammation. But is there a way to prevent the progression of these diseases? In this episode, Dr. Payel Gupta and Kortney are joined by Dr. Priya Bansal to explore how Type 2 inflammation manifests in children, the concept of the atopic march, and whether treatments like immunotherapy or biologics can alter the course of the diseases. Many parents aren't aware of the atopic march until their child starts developing multiple allergic conditions. Understanding how Type 2 inflammation progresses and when to intervene can be crucial in managing these diseases early. Dr. Bansal shares her expert insights on the best time to seek treatment and how biologics may help some children break the cycle of inflammation. What we cover in our episode about type 2 inflammation in children Understanding Type 2 Inflammation in Children: Understand type 2 inflammation's role in conditions like eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergies. Learn why children with one allergic condition often develop others over time. The Atopic March: Discover why some children with eczema go on to develop asthma and food allergies. Learn why early intervention can make a difference. Immunotherapy and Biologics: Can They Change the Course of Disease? Understand how allergy shots, OIT, SLIT and biologics work, when they are recommended, and whether they can stop or slow down the atopic march in children. When to See an Allergist & Parental Concerns About Treatment: Learn the signs that indicate your child may need an allergist evaluation. Plus, we address common concerns about aggressive treatment options, including steroids and biologics. “Most penicillin allergy labels are not indicative of any meaningful penicillin allergic reaction, and the vast majority can be de-labelled with direct oral challenges of amoxicillin." — Dr. Kimberly BlumenthalPenicillin allergy is one of the most commonly reported drug allergies—but here's the twist: most people who carry this label aren't actually allergic. So how did we get here, and what can be done to fix it?On this episode, Dr. Mariam Hanna sits down with Dr. Kimberly Blumenthal, an allergist, immunologist, and clinical researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an associate professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Blumenthal is internationally recognized for her work on penicillin allergy and the real-world impact of unnecessary labels on patient care, antibiotic resistance, and health equity. We cover:Why penicillin allergy is so commonly (and incorrectly) diagnosedHow de-labelling can improve antibiotic stewardship and patient outcomesRisk stratification: who needs testing, who can go straight to a challenge, and who should avoid penicillin? The role of allergists in leading the charge on de-labelling effortsSpecial populations, including pregnant patients, children with serum sickness-like reactions, and marginalized communities with less access to allergy careInternational practices that complicate the picture—like routine penicillin pre-screening in some countriesWith the vast majority of penicillin allergy labels being inaccurate, this episode highlights why it's time to stop assuming and start testing.Visit the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical ImmunologyFind an allergist using our helpful toolFind Dr. Hanna on X, previously Twitter, @PedsAllergyDoc or CSACI @CSACI_caThe Allergist is produced for CSACI by PodCraft Productions

Listen in as Kari Nadeau, MD, PhD, FAAAAI, engages in timely discussion on the impact of air pollution and wildfire smoke on allergic disease, including who is most at risk and ways to mitigate exposures. Dr. Nadeau is a plenary speaker at the upcoming AAAAI / WAO joint congress which is focused on Climate Change and Allergic Disease.
Caroline Sokol, MD, PhD, FAAAAI, discusses her work looking at how sensory neurons talk to the immune system and are key in initiating the allergic response. She also discusses why the allergic responses likely evolved to respond to toxins rather than worms and parasites. We also discuss the upcoming Discovery program at the AAAAI/WAO Joint Congress and advice for the next generation of scientists.

Food Allergy Made Easy | Food Allergy Safety Based On Experience and Research
Dear Food Allergy Mom, I remember the days when I was able to just go to someone's house and enjoy the feast they created and only worry about bringing one dish. Since food allergies, I've been forced to learn how to make full meals by myself. I now cook our special family meals for Christmas Eve, Christmas dinner, and sometimes New Year's Eve and Christmas morning brunch. At first, it was hard. I didn't know the timing of foods and I didn't have a flow, which meant there were a few holidays when I thought we would eat around 5 but ended up eating around 8:00 instead. YIKES! Not to mention all the time I spend in the kitchen. For a while, I felt like I was bonding with my kitchen more than my family during one of the most important celebrations of the year! This is why I knew something had to change, and I needed to come up with a plan. So over the years I've tried new things, focused on what worked the previous year, and got rid of what didn't. What I do now has evolved over the last 17 years, but I feel like I've got a system down pat. Now I can enjoy my family during the holidays instead of being chained to the kitchen! Let me tell you if I can do it, so can you, with the help of what I've learned over the years. Here are my best tips for planning and cooking all those big Holiday meals PLUS listen to the end where I'm answering some of your MOST burning questions that you told me were MOST stressful for you when it comes to hosting and prepping allergy-friendly meals during the holidays.
