#008: AloneTogether Livestream with Sharissa Bradley

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 10, 2020 57:06

During this unique time of Social Distancing, we decided to try something new. This episode was streamed live on our Youtube Channel “The Tea Drop Spot” as part of AloneTogether, an online festival featuring music, performers, workshops and talks. My co-host Sharissa Bradley is an award-winning author, host of The Tea Time Podcast, research psychologist, and speaks on topics relating to health and wellness. We sat down and had this Zoom conversation to discuss the current mental state of our society and how we can use this time for healing. We hope to give you some insights on how this experience is affecting us personally and collectively, and to offer positive ways of coping with isolation and uncertainty. We are alone but together. While visiting Denver last week, I was looking for new places to check out and a friend suggested that I head over to Honey Elixer Bar in The RiNo Art District. I checked out their website, and after seeing the menu, knew this place was right up my alley, and also in fact in an alley. I was so impressed with the atmosphere and drink selection of this warm and welcoming little haven, that I found myself there 3 times in one week. When introduced to owner Jocasta Hanson, I could immediately relate to her passion for healing beverages and creating spaces. She agreed to sit down and chat one afternoon about what motivated her to start her first business and where she would like to take it in the future. We proudly present our very first "On Location" episode of The Tea Dropcast, recorded months ago at Dirtybird Campout West Coast in 2019! This show is a pure silliness. Expect no hard-hitting news from this "Morning Update", but we hope you get a few giggles. Josh Littlefoot, who is known for his quick drumming and inside jokes, joins our host Pogoda for some Yerba Mate and reflections on the events of the weekend. Guest appearances by celebrity A/V Tech Henry Pope, Chef Amanda Cram, and Dancers Dando and Molly. Shout outs to our potential sponsors and the fine folks at Dirtybird Records for allowing us to take up the best real estate at the festival. Brittany Quidang is a dancer, public speaker, and all-around ambitious woman who is on a mission to help others express themselves and discover their purpose. Since the day we met, Brittany and I have encouraged each other personally and creatively and worked together to produce some incredible things. I always joke that she's the star of Pogoda Visuals because she's featured in a lot of my VJ content. We have a special chemistry when working together and I am so grateful for her talent and friendship.
