In this track Nino and I share our experiences of attending various international women day celebrations in Pakistan. We question what these celebrations mean for whom and what is efficacy of these campaigns. We also discuss the Pakistan Women Day, which is celebrated specifically within Pakistan, and is not on the same day as the International Women Day. This podcast is a little bit of chit chat and a little bit of learning.
In line with the manyPakistans idea, this is a a discussion between someone who grew up in Pakistan vs. some one who didn't. It showcases how each of their experiences formed their relationship with the Pakistan Day. A little bit of a history tour, some questioning, some agreements, some disagreements and some jokes; this is manypakistans reflecting on how much or how little we know. It is an effort to be comfortable in diversity of opinion, you may agree or disagree, but you would only do either, because you love Pakistan, Pakistan Zindabad :)
We were lucky to meet Leslie Hazleton for breakfast in Islamabad. Yes, we are still not able to register how lucky we were! Our conversation flowed organically and in a pursuit to know who Leslie is as a person, we talked about various topics and incidents of her life that have shaped her into what she likes to refer as 'an accidental theologist' We thought we were very lucky to have this privilege and it would be miser of us to deprive the larger audience of this wonderful conversation. Therefore, we requested her to join in on the theManyPakistans Podcast and share her journey of life. This conversation is the best we have put so far. Leslie, talks about how she started writing, her journey from writing about cars to theological figures and a lot more. She talks about her various books, how they were inspired, and her intellectual pursuits of today. We felt wiser and inspired having listened to her, and therefore we wanted to share it with everyone so people enjoy this experience equally as we did.

What is the history and the context of this province? What is the relationship with Punjabi? What is the food like? What makes it so lovable? and how the many Punjabs define the many Pakistans? - Theres are the few questions we ask ourselves, We hope you enjoy it!
