On this episode, the Bishop of Leicester, the Rt Revd Martyn Snow, is interviewed about his new booklet, Can We Imagine a Future Together? Intercultural lessons for living in love and faith, in which he attempts to chart a way forward for the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) process. Bishop Snow is the lead bishop on LLF. “The Church of England is in a season of discernment as it seeks a way to honour and accommodate differing theological and pastoral responses to Living in Love and Faith and to find a way to remain united despite sometimes profound disagreement,” the booklet's description says. “Martyn Snow offers further practical resources for this season of listening, prayer, patience and kindness. “Drawing on his experiences of working in the UK's most culturally diverse diocese to explore how best to live together well across difference, such that all church members — especially those who have been historically marginalised — flourish, he finds helpful models in the in the field of interculturalism and in the concept of gift exchange. These models are expressed in generous giving, radical receptivity and transformative thanksgiving — all of which can contribute positively to today's pressing questions.” Can We Imagine a Future Together? is published by Church House Publishing and is available to buy at https://www.chpublishing.co.uk/books/9781781405130/can-we-imagine-a-future-together. The resignation of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, made headline news across the UK and the wider world. This itself points to the ongoing public significance of the CofE and the knock-on effects for the wider church. Why did Welby choose to resign after pressure of public disrepute from external liberal media and government, rather than after the pressure from faithful Christians over his handling of LGBT+ issues or his support for other-religious festivals? What does this tell us about the priorities not only of his own leadership, but of the institution more broadly? How did Welby's evangelical convictions erode during his time in office? Was the authority of Scripture subtly replaced by a vague sense of "theological reflection"? What lessons can be learned for leaders and institutions going forward regarding "reputation"? Andy and Aaron cover all this and more in the latest episode of Pod of the Gaps. ** SUPPORT POD OF THE GAPS HERE: https://soundcloud.com/wkop-podcast ** RESOURCES: - Welby Resignation statement https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/news/news-and-statements/statement-archbishop-canterbury-0 - Lambeth Statement on LLF https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/news/news-and-statements/lambeth-palace-statement-living-love-and-faith - 'How church attendance crumbled under Justin Welby' https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/11/12/church-attendance-falls-justin-welby-archbishop-canterbury/ - 'Diwali, the Gospel, and AoC Welby' https://virtueonline.org/diwali-gospel-and-archbishop-justin-welby
An interview with Jonathan Pryke (recorded in June 2023). Laura Robb and Fi Jamieson question JPC's senior leader on matters relating to the Church of England and sexual ethics. Jonathan helpfully explains CofE jargon while helping us to understand the context around LLF and JPC. A MUST listen for any JPC member.
For this very special episode, Church of England revs with a difference Thomas Pelham and Jamie Franklin sat down in the same room to catch up on all the talking points in church and state. This time: we review the responses to Hamas' brutal killing of men, women and children on October 7th. The October Declaration says that we should stand by British Jews and condemns antisemitic violence, whilst London's streets are flooded with pro-Palestinian supporters calling for jihad and the cleansing of the land of Israel. Meanwhile, an American poll shows that over half of 16-25 year-olds believe that the October 7th attacks were justified. In addition, we follow up on the feedback from last week's story about alleged corruption in the highest ranks of the University and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) and MP Ben Bradshaw seeks to use his political position in order to bring about doctrinal and practical changes in the Church of England's approach to marriage and human sexuality. Will he succeed? That and much much more as ever!Job Advert: Team Vicar of Milber Parish (0.5) and Vicar of Bovey Tracey Saint John and Heathfield (0.5) - Diocese of Exeter (anglican.org) Please Support!Support us on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/irreverend) or Buy Me a Coffee (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/irreverend).
Join Steve for a very special episode! Today he's ON-SITE at Charleston Wine & Food 2023 at Riverfront Park in North Charleston talking with attendees, brewers, consumer packed goods pioneers, and future food truck owners. Thanks to Wine & Food for partnering with LLF and inviting Small Talks into their on-site PodCafe for this exiting opportunity to record AND perform LIVE from Riverfront Park! In this episode, you'll hear from locals Mike, Meredith, and Audre; Christina of Daddy's Food Truck; Scott of Estuary Beans & Barley; and Tana of Genuine Ranch Co. Remember to support local!

Coming in at #7 is the 601 La Bomba Warhead VI by Espinosa Cigars. The story of the Warhead line is well-documented. This was a cigar that was an off-shoot of Espinosa's powerful 601 La Bomba line. The Warhead would replace La Bomba's Nicaraguan Habano wrapper with a Broadleaf wrapper. The idea was to keep to La Bomba's strength and produce an entirely new flavor experience. The Warhead was first released in 2013 and has been a near-annual release since then with each version coming in a different size. For the first five installments of the Warhead, the cigars were box-pressed. The Warhead VI would mark a major change in that this was a short, chunky figurado that was a rounded vitola. The vitola measures 5 x 58. As for the blend, in addition to the Broadleaf wrapper, Warhead VI uses all -Nicaraguan tobaccos. Production comes from AJ Fernandez's San Lotano factory which Espinosa partners with for production on several lines. Warhead VI delivers notes of mocha, earth, wood, cherry, and red pepper. This is a powerful cigar that is full strength and in fact, might be the strongest Warhead to date. The flavors produced start out medium to full before progressing to full-bodied in the second half. It was in 2013 when the first Warhead landed on the Countdown and that was the first year Espinosa landed on a Countdown. Since then Espinosa has not missed a Countdown and this marks the ninth consecutive year they have landed on the Countdown - a Cigar Coop record for consecutive years. This is the fifth time a Warhead has landed on the Countdown. It's also the 5th cigar made at an AJ Fernandez facility, and third cigar overall to come from AJ's San Lotano factory. Of the 24 cigars unveiled thus far on the 2021 Countdown, this is the 17th from Nicaragua. For details of the 2021 Cigar of the Year Countdown, see our 2021 criteria: https://cigar-coop.com/2021/12/announcement-criteria-for-the-2021-cigar-of-the-year-countdown.html Cigar Coop Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-lLF

What is it that fuels you? My next guest answers that with her company name, it's Love Life Faith. She started her company back in October 2018, with the hope to share a piece of her with others. LLF originally started as a blog with her sharing items such as food and make-up. She then realized that she wanted to do more than that. She absolutely loved crafting and creating things, so she decided to add custom apparel. She started off with T-shirts and leggings and they were an absolute hit. So, she decided to add more products to her line and the next thing she knew, she had a very nice assortment of items that will appeal to men, women and children. She is really big on inclusion for all and her customers are treated like family. With the world at your fingertips, you can find her on social media and shop her website on your phone or computer. You can always count on communication and great quality when shopping with her. Be sure to always “Captivate yourself by being naturally curious.” Ladies and Gentlemen......Christina Harrison! Stewart Henderson is in conversation with Amy Daughton, Marcus Green and Bishops Christopher Cocksworth and Jill Duff. Book reference: Part Four. Seeking answers: How do we hear God? Ch.18 Prayer and guidance
If you're an Episcopalian or Anglican, chances are you've probably heard by now of the release of the landmark project on human sexuality and marriage, Living in Love and Faith. Today, we're going to dive into this project with one of its architects. LLF is a suite of resources just put out by the Church of England — it includes videos, a book, study and teaching materials — and what does it do? It does a lot. It shares the massive results of research, history, storytelling — theological, anecdotal, traditional, scientific, sociological — and it begins to really closely analyze the sources of convergence and divergence between people who have differently formed consciences and viewpoints on marriage and sexuality to try to come to a truly new place of communal discernment. LLF is not a project intended to give answers. And that may be frustrating to some folks. So what is the goal of the project? And what's the end game? How do the people who directed the project hope it will serve the Church? How might it likely relate to Lambeth 2022? Is it really new, or is it just a bunch of old news packaged in a new way? What has it uncovered exactly? And how can people, from dioceses to local congregations, use it? Today we get to hear from the Rev. Canon Dr. Andrew Goddard, who was part of the team who built LLF, interviewed by the Rev. Canon Dr. Jordan Hylden. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/living-church/support

On this week's podcast, the editor of the Church Times, Paul Handley, talks to the Bishop of Coventry, Dr Christopher Cocksworth, about the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) project, which he chaired. The LLF project was set up in 2017 by the House of Bishops in an attempt to break the deadlock over same-sex relationships. The committee behind the project has published what it calls “a suite of resources”, which includes videos, podcasts, an online learning hub for further reading, and a five-week course, which is being commended for study by parishes — for example, during Lent. Central to all these is a 480-page book, Living in Love and Faith: Christian teaching and learning about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage, which contains a distillation of the project's findings Bishop Cocksworth says: “One of the keys to the project is that we're not just looking at single issues. We're trying to look at the whole framework of relationships.” Read more about the LLF project in this week's paper and on our website: www.churchtimes.co.uk/topics/living-in-love-and-faith Living in Love and Faith is produced by Church House Publishing at £19.99; Church Times Bookshop, £17.99. The online resources can be found at churchofengland.org/LLF. Try 10 issues of the Church Times for £10 or get two months access to our website and apps, also for £10.
Please join me on Thursday February 19th at 9:00 PM ESTon The Dedan Tolbert Show as we celebrate the life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. I will be joined by Ronald Lopes and Reigndrop Lopes (Left Eye's Siblings). We will be discussing Lisa's new album, Eye Legacy and the Lisa Left Eye Lopes Foundation. Eye Legacy is the first “much anticipated'' solo album being released in the U.S for Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Executive Producers are The Heavy Weights, Marcus Siskin and Surefire Music Group. Co-Produced by Wanda Lopes (Left Eye's Mother), Ronald Lopes and Reigndrop Lopes. Guest artists include Missy Elliot, T-Boz, Chilli, Lil Mama, Bobby Valentino, Chamillionaire, and many more. The first official single, "Let's Just Do It," was released on January 13, 2009 and features Missy Elliott and TLC. The album includes a bonus DVD of never before seen footage of Left Eye. The album booklet will also contain fan messages that were collected through the Eye Legacy official MySpace page. A percentage of the proceeds from the album sales will go to the Lisa Lopes Foundation and their orphanage in Honduras. The mission of the Lisa Lopes Foundation (LLF) is to provide access to Basic Health, Education, Self-Awareness and Recreational Programs to children living in low-income communities within the United States and underdeveloped communities within Central America. Headquartered in Stone Mountain, Georgia the Lisa Lopes Foundation was developed in 2003 by Lisa's mother, Wanda Lopes-Colemon, her brother Ronald Lopes and family friend Anashay Murphy. LLF was inspired by Lisa's dream of building a children's home on land she purchased in Honduras. Shortly after revealing her plans to her family, Lisa passed away in an auto accident in Honduras. Four years later LLF opened Lisa's Home of Love, a 10,000 sq. ft., residential facility. The orphanage includes a dental clinic, FREE healthcare, and on-site FREE schooling, which is open to children throughout the
