Annnd just like that - we're back! Welcome to SZN 4, the future is here. If you listened to the last episode of SZN 3, you'll know I left you with quite a cliffhanger. . . and well. . . we're still in it baby! It is too soon to see how it all works out. Winter has brought me a lot to navigate. Even more than I bargained for. So, as I climb this mountain with a boulder in my hands, I am learning to make peace. I am learning that radical acceptance doesn't just look cute on soft girl merch, but in fact is one of the "easiest" ways to navigate the inbetween parts. As it turns out, most of life is the inbetween. And until we learn how to embrace and make magic out of the mundane - even our mountain tops won't seem so high. So, in conclusion, Miley said it best. It's the climb. Happy Listening! Hello Friends! We're back with our first proper Mixology breakdown of 2024, taking our first look on the show at The Searchers, and their fantastic 1965 LP Take Me For What I'm Worth. The last LP issued by the group until their late 70s renaissance, the album sees the group moving in a Folk Rock direction, and deep in the throws of a love affair with the echo chamber, giving us some wonderful differing echo levels between the two mixes, along with a few other tidbits. An album deeply worth your time, it's time to see which mix you should be after - if you don't just take either for what they're worth! Happy Listening, Frederick Fans on the Run Podcast (feat. These were the unconscious foundational distillations of my business in 2023 and now I only want to believe in them and broadcast them in a more conscious way. They are going to set the stage of any decision I make in my business, any change and any evolution. Hello Friends! It's that festive time of year again, so I thought I'd pull out one of the few 60s seasonal LPs in my collection for your listening pleasure today, courtesy of Andy Williams. Today, we'll be looking at the first of his 5(!) Christmas albums, here sensibly titled The Andy Williams Christmas Album from 1963. Not reissued in it's mono mix since it's first issue, this LP is home to the classic 'It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year', along with other Side 1 bangers such as 'Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells'. Side 2 then delves into the more secular side, which while not my usual chosen side of things, seems appropriate to cover, and overall, this is certainly a solid holiday LP from the period that deserves to have it's poppier material heard in that punchy monophonic sound, but the stereo is certainly no slouch - if anything, it's a little too bombastic! So let's weigh it all up, and most importantly, don't forget to hang up your sock! Happy Listening, Frederick Patreon Email Instagram Back to Mono
Happy Friday, my friend! Welcome to Inside the Minds of Authors. The podcast that is dedicated to bringing you passionate authors with exciting books. Today is the finale of season four of the podcast. It's a tremendous day for us, since it's also the celebration of our 175th episode. Joining me today are some of the authors from Tales of Christmas Villains. The Tales Collections is a special project that I'm co-publishing with the fabulous Ms. Jaime Dalton. We are so proud of this project and hope you have as much fun as we did. Here is a sneak peek of what to expect from the collection: “Ruined holiday plans and stolen gifts are only the beginning in this collection of villains gone wild for the holidays! Tales of Christmas Villains brings together the most mischievous batch of scrooges, thieves, and humbugs out to wreak havoc on the Christmas cheer. Featuring a chilling ice fairy who feeds on her victims' souls, chaotic criminals disguised as grinches, and the infamous Jack Frost meeting his match in a plucky mermaid, these wicked adventures will have you howling with dark delight. If you think you've got enough spirit to take on these troublemakers, think again. The naughty list just got longer and more sinister! So watch out this season and prepare for some seriously spirited scroogery - Tales of Christmas Villains is coming to town!” The talented Ms. Jaime Dalton (Author and Co-publisher), Stephanie B. Whitfield (Author), and Stephanie K. Clemens (Author), are joining me to celebrating the released of this fabulous collection of short stories. Hey Friends, HAPPY THANKSGIVING from The Language of Play! There are so many holiday stories available to read to our children! They all have a different focus. Some silly, some academic, some religious... any focus you can think of! When My kids were small, I wanted a story that helped them understand gratitude in the presence of struggle. I wanted a Christian book that showed God's goodness. I found “Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving.” This book became the story my family read every Thanksgiving! As they grew, our conversations grew! I decided to share it with you here, with permission from the author. Maybe your kiddos will give you a little space to cook while listening. Conceptually, older kids will enjoy it, and the little ones will also enjoy the sounds of a story read, even as they don't understand the history. Happy Listening and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you and your kids enjoy it! To re-listen, you'll find the story about 7min, 15 seconds. Always cheering you on!
