Desiree Wile is on a mission. One quite unlike any mission any parent or person would be excited to embark on, yet, she still presses onward in hopes to reach those in need of help. A year ago, Desiree lost something very special to her. As she puts it, “A beautiful light in this life.” I am talking about her son Jayden. A young man with a charismatic personality who was adored by many. Sadly Jayden succumbed to the effects of cyberbullying and his young, promising and beautiful life was tragically cut short leaving many in the wake of the ripple effect of such an event. Desiree is here today to tell #JaydenStory and to encourage us all to embody the message behind hers and her family's sogan, “Stand up. Speak out. Be kind.”

He contacted me initially to talk about his amazing talents as a composer and a producer but after he watched the documentary on Netflix, The Social Dilemma, he implored me to watch it so we could discuss it on the show. Stefanos and I were both impacted by the information in this documentary! If you have not seen it yet, especially if you have younger children who are using social media platforms regularly, I strongly recommend you give it a look. Here is my conversation with Stefanos.

He is a music producer and composer and also a mentor! He speaks from the heart and knows how to inspire you to be the best at what you do!! I had such an amazing time getting to know him more after our 6 month cohort ended with 6 Figure Songwriting. I was blown away only a few minutes ago when I saw his Instagram post revealing he is working on music for a brand new video game!!! I cannot wait to see what that ends up being!! Welcome to the second half of my very intimate conversation with Jeff Herge. As you learned in the first episode, Jeff worked for the Department of Defense and was inside the Pentagon the morning of September 11th, 2001. His recount of that day takes a lot of courage and has been very inspiring to many of my listeners. If there is anyone in the world who is hearing Ian, Charisse and Jeff's stories and has their own story to tell about that day, please reach out to me at thisisyourshowpodcast@gmail.com. If I can provide you a space to tell your story I would be honored in doing so.

Lin Gysen is a beautiful soul!!! I came to know her during the 6 Figure Songwriting cohort and she helped many of us learn the basic understanding of the sound frequency spectrum and how to set up our studios so we could learn to produce music from home. She even pointed me in the direction of using Zoom for my podcast because it provides much better audio. Was she ever right!!! She provided me with a sample of a song she recorded in Laos while attending her first live concert!! That is what you are hearing in the background right now and it gives you a bit of insight into the story you are about to hear. Being an audio expert, she is fully aware of the quality of the recording but it provides a contrast to her outstanding work!! She has started The Virtual School of Sound to help up and coming producers better understand the science behind sound so that they are fully prepared to make the best sounding music possible!!! Lin has traveled the world and has not only seen some really cool stuff, but she has heard even cooler things!! Stuff I only hope to be able to hear and see one day!! Including recording audio from the jungle waking up first thing in the morning which you're going to hear at the very end of this episode!

Jeff Herge is heroic! And I may not be referring to the type of heroism where someone goes running into gunfire or towards danger on purpose, but he is someone who, in the time of dire need, can put his own fears and anxieties aside to do what is asked of him for the sake of his country. He is also humble. Which means he, in his own words, would say that he is a regular guy just doing his job. In other words, a true patriot! The story you are about to hear is his account of the events that took place while he was at work at the Pentagon on the morning of September 11th, 2001. I have broken this story up into two parts as it is graciously detailed and at times even became a bit much for Jeff. There are many levels to the aftermath of 9/11 as it affected all of us in many different ways. I know people in Canada who feared for their lives as it was close enough to home for us!! In my last 2 interviews with Ian and Charisse, it pained me not being able to put myself in their shoes to sympathize with them on a deeper level. However, allowing them the space to talk about their experience with 9/11 brought Jeff to me, willing to provide his story. If you or anyone you know suffers from PTSD and have not found a means to manage it, please contact your local mental health center and speak to a professional. As you will learn in these 2 episodes, talking about your trauma is a good place to start healing from it. thisisyourshowpodcast@gmail.com tylerfriedelproductions@gmail.com

He and I have such a similar personalities it is so easy to spend hours talking to him. I have recently helped him learn how to do dream boards and since he began on his path of Enlightenment he has noticed a drastic change in his life. It's really neat to know that I have a friend in Israel that I can talk to on a daily basis.  He and I formed a strong connection long before we ever discussed being on the podcast together. I called this episode a Jew and a Christian walk into a podcast because he and I both have a light-hearted spirit and although we have completely different upbringings, accompanied by completely different religious beliefs, none of that mattered to him and I.  We formed a friendship first and here is our conversation learning just a little bit more about each other.

Hi!  This is Tyler Friedel!! If you are a single parent who is struggling, or an addict who is struggling or you are dealing with oppression because of the color of your skin, body shape, gender identification and sexual preference, if you have been raped, feel suicidal or if you have felt abandoned by the ones you love, or if you are all of these things and more, I have created this podcast for people like us who have endured some of life's toughest challenges and are still here to talk about it. One thing I will start by admitting is I have had an overall great life but I suffer from addiction,  depression and anxiety every single day and have gotten here by a string of events that make up my life.  I have to say I acknowledge there are folks in this world who have had it far worse than I could ever imagined.  The fact that you're pushing through and just living every single day, is extremely inspiring to me and I want to hear your story!!  I'd like to share mine with you.  I want to create a safe place for anyone who feels there is no one to listen to come and speak their minds!! My entire life I have been forced to keep my mouth shut by those who held some form of authority or seniority over me.  From childhood to my last day job, there were things I was not okay with and was made to stifel them to protect other people's images.  The day has come for me to talk!! If you want in on the action, please reach out to me on Instagram or on Facebook.  There is nobody I won't talk to.  We all have a voice and should not be held from using it.  Even if our opinions differ, I want to talk to you.  I need to understand my fellow human beings from their perspective.  I am done being told what my world is all about.  I need to find out for myself!! So join in on the conversation.  We will be going over it all.  Full disclosure.  No filters.  Raw emotions and hopefully some breakthrough interventions.  I cannot wait to meet you all!! Ginine said, THE CAVE YOU FEAR TO ENTER HOLDS THE TREASURE YOU SEEK. What a powerful statement!!! How many times have you missed out on something awesome because of your fear? It scares me to think of the amount of times I have passed up a really great opportunity because I allowed fear to make my decisions for me. What do you think you can accomplish in 20 seconds of Courage? What is something that has been on your heart for a long time that would begin to manifest only if you spent 20 seconds putting all of your heart soul and passion into that idea? Who is going to thank you for your 20 seconds of courage!? Who will you thank for thiers!? I thanked Cathy Heller for hers because without it I would not be here right now talking to you!! You would be surprised what you can accomplish in 20 seconds if you show up and give yourself permission to do so!! Ginine's 20 seconds of Courage has brought her to me where we had an opportunity to relate to one another. It turns out she has a bunch of tools that could help people that I know. She is making big movements in the mental health community that is helping raise awareness for suicide. I know I'm not the only one who's been touched by the subject and I would love for anyone who feels they need someone to talk to, to reach out to myself or Ginine! We are not trained therapists but we have been through the darkness and are living in light. I would like you to take a moment to visit her website www.chasingoz.com as well as her musicians page on Instagram @chasingozmusic. If you are depressed or are suicidal please reach out to your local mental health clinic, hospital, or suicide hotline. I can offer an ear to listen to your story, but there are people who know the right things to say, teach and recommend.

Cinder Ernst - Clap Your Hands!!!

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 19, 2020 13:01

Last week I met with Cinder Ernst and she showed me a three-step process on how to centre myself when I feel things are falling apart around me. I did it the day I edited our first episode and the energy that provided me kept me going for a few days. I'll be honest, I didn't do it again until this morning as I was editing this second half of the episode. What I noticed after taking a couple of days off in between is that there is a drastic difference in how it affects my day. It pulls my thoughts in from being all over the place and focuses them on things to be grateful for. After all, gratitude is the key to a happy life. If you can't be happy with what you do have why would you be provided with more? It falls under the same principles as the law of attraction or believing in a prayer. The second half of my interview with Cinder opened my eyes to a few more things. Since we first talked I have started doing live streams on Instagram and Facebook and putting myself out there more than I ever imagined I would in my lifetime. What I'm learning is that the more I do that, the more I learn how I am able to adapt. I'm learning to allow the feelings of anxiety to pass through me and in turn I am realizing how to better deal with it. The more I do it the easier it will be and I hope that one day it doesn't affect me at all. Cinder helped me realize last week that it is achievable as long as I rinse and repeat the process!! I now have new tools to help me get through some of my daily struggles. If I can start there, who knows where it will take me!?!? All I know is we only have the present moment. The ones that have passed are not coming back and the ones ahead haven't happened yet! Right now is all we have, it is all we are and it is all we are ever going to be. What will you do with the moments to come?
