You will never be able to control the actions of others but you can always control how you choose to react to it. By being very honest with ourselves about why we are feeling triggered, angry, hurt, etc. we learn that other people's words and actions are rarely the cause of what upset us. Rather, it is the meaning we assign to those words or actions that determine our feelings. The assumptions we make about other's intentions and motivations are the true cause of our suffering.
