A positive attitude isn't pretending life is easy. It's choosing how you respond — especially when it isn't.In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Garrett Unclebach and Nick Surface break down why positive attitude is more than optimism — it's a leadership skill, a mindset discipline, and a decision that determines the direction of your life.Using the aviation idea that attitude determines altitude, the conversation explores how your internal orientation — your thoughts, focus, and emotional direction — influences where your life goes. A negative attitude points you downward. A positive attitude keeps you climbing.Garrett explains that positivity isn't about ignoring reality. It's about choosing what you focus on:Gratitude instead of complaintsPossibility instead of fearEncouragement instead of discouragementLeadership instead of emotional reactionThe episode also dives into how positive attitude transforms the three things everyone faces - pain, criticism, and failure. This episode isn't about fake positivity. It's about becoming the type of person who keeps their eyes up, their faith strong, and their direction forward — no matter what hits. Because attitude doesn't decide where you are.It decides where you're going.Join a group of likeminded Impossible Life listeners in our FREE Skool community by clicking here.Get the Purpose Playbook by clicking hereGet the FREE Basic Discipline Training 30 Day Program by clicking hereJoin us in Mindset Mastery by clicking hereIf you're a man that wants real accountability and training to be a leader, click here.Level up your nutrition with IDLife by clicking hereGET IN TOUCHSocial Media - @theimpossiblelifeEmail - info@theimpossible.life

What if one question could change everything about how you die? In this powerful episode, Suzanne shares a pivotal moment from her early days as an oncology nurse that transformed her understanding of end-of-life care. At the heart of this story is the one question that becomes the foundation for all future medical decisions: What does quality of life mean to you — and when would you consider it no longer acceptable? Without this conversation, the system is designed to keep treating — even when it no longer aligns with what matters most. With it, care becomes aligned, peaceful, and intentional. You'll learn why most end-of-life suffering comes from lack of planning, how fear drives crisis decisions, the difference between hope and false hope, and why defining your quality-of-life benchmark is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family. In this episode of the Profit First for Real Estate Investing podcast, I sit down with Cody Hofhine—entrepreneur, former co-owner of Wholesaling Inc., and founder of Joe Homebuyer—to talk about what really drives long-term success in business. Cody shares his journey from struggling insurance agent making $19,000 a year to building and selling a national real estate education company, and the identity crisis that followed. We dive into personal development, leadership, and why your business can only grow to the size of the person running it. Cody explains how shifting from ego-driven goals to purpose-driven impact changed everything, and how that mindset now fuels his mission to help franchise owners scale to $1 million territories across the country. If you're chasing growth but feeling stuck, this episode will challenge you to level up from the inside out. Episode Highlights[0:00] – Cody's entrepreneurial roots and growing up with a contractor father[6:47] – From vinyl fencing to insurance—and earning just $19,000 in a year[9:26] – The moment his wife's tears changed everything[10:47] – Joining Wholesaling Inc. as one of the first students[11:06] – Partnering, scaling, and eventually selling the company[12:33] – The identity crisis that followed the sale[16:31] – Redefining identity: faith, family, and purpose first[20:01] – Why helping others win eliminates financial insecurity[20:27] – Joe Homebuyer's goal: 100 $1M territories by 2028[28:46] – The business can only scale to the size of the leader[29:08] – Why personal development beats marketing hacks every time5 Key TakeawaysYour identity cannot be your business. Patent attorney and former chemist Josh Goldberg joins me to unpack how intellectual property strategy determines whether innovation gets funded—or quietly dies. Most startup conversations focus on product, growth, and pitch decks. This episode focuses on what founders often ignore until it's too late: protection. Josh shares why he left drug formulation chemistry to go to law school, and how he now helps innovators—particularly in green tech and scientific industries—turn inventions into defensible assets. We walk through the uncomfortable reality that patents don't let you do anything. They let you stop others. That negative right, however, is often the very thing investors care about most. From first-to-file rules and accidental public disclosures to the difference between patents, trademarks, and copyrights, this episode breaks down how smart founders think about timing, leverage, and risk before litigation ever enters the picture. This isn't a conversation about legal theory. It's about strategic sequencing.Because innovation without protection doesn't attract capital. It attracts competition.TL;DR* In green tech and scientific startups, patents often are the product* Investors evaluate risk before they evaluate brilliance* Publishing before filing can permanently destroy international patent rights* The U.S. has a one-year grace period; most other countries do not* Patents protect inventions; trademarks protect brands; copyrights protect creative works* Litigation is expensive—early strategy prevents most of it* Founders need business planning as much as scientific expertise* IP strategy should be integrated into the business plan from day oneMemorable Lines* “Having a patent doesn't let you do something—it lets you stop someone else.”* “It's a race to the patent office.”* “If you don't know where you're going, wherever you wind up is going to be fine.”* “Innovation without protection makes funding harder, not easier.”* “The earlier I get involved, the fewer mistakes we have to untangle.”GuestJosh Goldberg — Patent attorney and former chemistIntellectual property strategist focused on green technology, scientific innovation, and helping startups build defensible patent portfolios before going to market.

This episode wrestles with trauma, murder, and suffering, and explains why the way you see the world—your worldview—largely determines how deeply you are wounded and how you process life's most painful events. Drawing from real cold-case homicides and personal conversations with victims' families, J. Warner Wallace shows how expectations about God, goodness, justice, and life itself either shatter under the weight of evil or are refined and strengthened when they match reality. You'll hear how an underdeveloped or shallow view of the Christian faith can collapse when tragedy strikes, and why a robust, well-thought-out Christian worldview can actually prepare you for suffering rather than promise you a pain-free life. The episode summarizes key ideas from J. Warner's work on the problem of evil—why God might allow horrific events, how this relates to free will, eternity, and human sin, and why Christianity offers not just an explanation for suffering but hope and meaning in the middle of it. To go deeper on these themes of evil, justice, and the Christian worldview, check out J. Warner's book The Truth in True Crime here: https://amzn.to/3LNWxp6 If this conversation helps you think more clearly about trauma and God's plan, please follow/subscribe to the podcast and take a moment to rate and review it in your app—your feedback helps more people discover this content and process their own suffering through the lens of the gospel.

As biologics grow more complex, cell line development remains a key driver of speed, yield, and manufacturability. What was once a technical milestone is now a competitive differentiator, directly impacting time to Investigational New Drug (IND), cost of goods, and long-term scalability. In this episode of Off Script, we spoke with Brett Verstak, director of cell line development at Abzena, to discuss how advanced Chinese hamster ovary (CHO)-based platforms, glutamine synthetase (GS) knockout systems, automation, and AI-driven workflows are accelerating clone selection and reducing downstream risk. The conversation explores persistent bottlenecks in hard-to-express proteins, the value of integrated upstream development models, and how smarter platform design is helping drug developers move complex biologics to the clinic faster.

You're not behind. You're just running too fast. Most leaders think the answer to overwhelm is speed—more efficiency, tighter schedules, faster execution. But what if the real problem isn't that you're doing too little? What if it's that you're running at an unsustainable pace that's hurting you, your family, your work, and your team? In this final episode of our Five Spheres of an H2 Leader series, we're tackling pace, how fast you're running, why you're running that fast, and what it's costing you. Most leaders execute from anxiety and shame, not focus and clarity. They're running FROM something instead of running TO something. And when you run too fast for too long, everything suffers—your health, your relationships, your creativity, and your team's culture. Alan breaks down the difference between personal activation (how fast you're running) and communal activation (how fast you're driving your team to run). And he introduces the concept that changes everything: effectiveness over efficiency. What You'll Learn: Why most leaders execute from anxiety and shame instead of focus and clarity—and how to shift from running FROM something to running TO something Personal activation vs. communal activation: how your pace directly impacts everyone around you (whether you realize it or not) The efficiency trap: why focusing on "doing all the things as fast as possible" kills creativity, presence, and quality Peter Drucker's definition of effectiveness: doing the right things well—not all the things quickly How to identify if you're running at a sustainable pace: the 1-10 self-assessment and why most leaders overestimate their capacity Four things that suffer when you run too fast: your health (cardiac issues, stress, sleep), those you love (presence, connection), your work (creativity, quality, enjoyment), and your team (culture, morale, burnout) The seasonal awareness principle: why some sprint seasons are okay—but only if you know they're seasons with a beginning and an end Why hurry is literally killing you: the science on how chronic rushing impacts everything from heart health to weight to sleep quality The communal cost of your pace: how your speed becomes your team's speed—and why your anxiety cascades down the org chart Sabbath as the killer app: one day a week where you get to just be human, not a leader—and why this weekly rhythm recalibrates your entire pace The scarcity mentality test: if you find yourself saying "there's never enough time to ___," you're running from scarcity, not toward clarity How to move from efficiency (doing all things fast) to effectiveness (doing the right things well) Why you're probably not behind: the lie that you need to run faster, and the truth that you need to run smarter The Right Side Up Journal: a 10-minute daily practice to focus your day, prioritize what matters, and remember that your son's basketball game tonight is more important than your task list Key Insight: You have way more influence than you think. The people around you are watching how you run, feeling your anxiety, and absorbing your pace. When you slow down, you give your team permission to breathe. When you focus on effectiveness over efficiency, you create space for creativity, presence, and quality. When you Sabbath weekly, you remind yourself—and your team—that the world runs just fine without you grinding 24/7. Reflection Questions: How sustainable is the pace you're running at right now? (1-10) What would your family say about your pace? What would your team say about the pace you're setting? Are you running FROM something (anxiety, shame, scarcity) or TO something (purpose, clarity, mission)? What are the 3-4 right things you should be doing right now—and are you doing them well, or just fast? Series Context: This is the fifth and final episode in our Five Spheres of an H2 Leader series. The five spheres are: Influence - How you wield your relational and positional power Health - How you live integrated and aligned to values and needs Self-Awareness - How your emotions, assets, and liabilities impact others Design - How you maximize your talents and abilities Pace - How you move and drive others to move If you haven't listened to the full series, go back and start with Episode 1. These five spheres work together as a tapestry—below-the-surface aspects of leadership that won't show up on scorecards or P&L statements, but deeply affect you, your family, your team, and your organization. Resources Mentioned: Right Side Up Journal (available on Amazon) - 10-minute daily planning tool, 90-day process, 4th edition coming soon Peter Drucker's work on effectiveness vs. efficiency The Five Spheres Recap: This series has been about things below the surface—aspects of leadership that don't show up on websites or win columns, but shape everything. The higher you are on the org chart, the more these spheres impact the people around you. We've covered influence (your power), health (your integration), self-awareness (your emotional impact), design (your unique wiring), and now pace (your speed and sustainability). These aren't destinations. You don't arrive and get a trophy. You're in direction of becoming a healthy, high-impact leader. And that's the journey we're on together. Want More? We believe you are designed by a Designer who invites you to co-design your life with Him. If you don't believe that, you'll just get pulled along by your life—by social media, email, news cycles, and other people's urgency. But we believe it's intelligent, personal, and purposeful. You are invited to collaborate in your own life. For coaching, consulting, and resources to help you lead as a Healthy + High Impact leader, visit h2leadership.com.

Most RIAs continue to grow in assets, client demand, and professionalization, but structurally, the majority remain founder-focused organizations. While growth itself is no longer the primary challenge, leadership capacity increasingly is.In this episode, Ray Sclafani explains why leadership bench strength, not markets, not strategy, and not capital, is the real constraint on long-term RIA growth. Drawing from two real-world coaching engagements with multi-billion-dollar RIA CEOs, Ray contrasts two leadership postures: one focused on building optionality through distributed leadership, and another clinging to centralized control as time quietly narrows future choices.Ray makes the case that building a leadership bench is not about stepping down, it's about designing leadership intentionally, years before necessity forces decisions. Firms that develop leaders, establish decision rights, and transfer trust internally create options: to evolve as CEO, shift roles, bring in external leadership, or transition ownership on their terms. The episode concludes with reflection questions for founders and executive teams who want to build enduring firms.Key Takeaways Nearly 90% of RIAs operate as founder-focused firms, limiting future optionsPast success does not automatically qualify a leader for the firm's next stageLeadership benches take three to five years to build when done wellWithout distributed leadership, options narrow quickly due to time, health, or external pressureTeam-based firms outperform founder-led firms because leadership responsibility is sharedEnduring RIAs design leadership intentionally before they are forced toQuestions Financial Advisors Often AskQ: What is leadership bench strength in an RIA?A: Leadership bench strength refers to having multiple developed leaders within the firm who are trusted, empowered, and capable of carrying leadership responsibility beyond one or two individuals.Q: Why is leadership bench strength important for RIA growth?A: According to the episode, leadership capacity and internal bandwidth are primary constraints on RIA growth, even as assets and client demand continue to rise.Q: How long does it take to build a leadership bench in an advisory firm?A: When done well, building a leadership bench takes a minimum of three to five years and requires intentional role design, decision rights, and leadership development.Q: What happens if leadership remains concentrated with the founder?A: When leadership capability lives primarily in one or two people, options narrow over time, and decisions are often made by circumstance rather than intention.Q: What role does trust play in leadership development?A: Trust transfer internally is essential as leaders must be developed, trusted, and empowered ahead of necessity for options to expand.
Your faith is real, but what you're producing may not last. In this message, Pastor JT exposes the hidden mindset that determines whether a Christian produces immediate results or eternal fruit that endures. Using Jesus' teaching on treasure, fruit, and eternal perspective, this sermon helps believers diagnose whether they are consuming, coasting, or actually building something that feeds future generations. Growing Great Families, Part 31 Peter 4:8; Philippians 2:3-4
What if the greatest goal of your life isn't success, comfort, or control—but pleasing God?In Part 1 of our Epic Faith series, Pastor Adam unpacks why faith isn't just something you believe in big moments, but a daily way of living that shapes how you see everything. From Scripture to real-life stories, this message challenges us to stop demanding guarantees and start trusting God with our next step. You'll discover why faith honors God, how it grows when it's exercised, and what it looks like to live with confidence in God even when you can't see the outcome. This message will stretch your perspective, confront small faith, and invite you into a bold, faith-filled life that truly pleases God.If you're ready to stop living by sight and start walking by faith—this message is for you.
In this Guts Church teaching, Elder Chris Hart talks about how Galatians 5 reminds us that Christ has already set us free—and the call now is to stay free. In this message, Guts Church walks through the contrast between grace and law, freedom and bondage, flesh and Spirit. The Apostle Paul's words reveal how what we feed determines what we produce, and how love is the ultimate proof of faith working through grace. This teaching breaks down the fruit of the Spirit, exposes subtle distractions that pull believers back into old mindsets, and challenges the church to live led by the Holy Spirit instead of human effort. As the Daniel Fast concludes and the church prepares for a powerful Healed Service, this message calls believers to walk in freedom, maturity, and Spirit-led love.
For decades, the 4% rule has been treated as gospel for retirement planning... But is it still safe? Josh breaks down why the traditional withdrawal rule may no longer work in today's market, how Social Security and guaranteed income change the math, and what really determines whether your money lasts as long as you do. Dr. Friday explains how marriage and divorce affect your taxes, especially filing status. She clarifies that a divorce at any point in the year counts for the entire year, which can create surprises. Transcript G’day, I’m Dr. Friday, president of Dr. Friday’s Tax and Financial Firm. To get more info, go to www.drfriday.com. This is a one-minute moment. You know, when life happens, sometimes people get married, sometimes people get divorced, sometimes you have children, sometimes the children grow up and move out. All these things are life-affecting and mostly tax-affecting events. So if you are divorcing, I have to reiterate what people I thought knew but I have found out don’t: it doesn’t go into effect the day you divorce, it goes into effect the year you divorce. So if you divorce any day today or December 31st, you are considered divorced the entire year. It’s not a half-year thing, it’s not a quarter-year thing. So that means if you’ve been claiming married, you may end up with a huge tax problem. If you need help, call me. You can catch the Dr. Friday Call-in Show live every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. right here on 99.7 WTN.

Most of what matters most in life and faith takes a long time to build and very little time to lose. Strength, trust, character, and spiritual stability are formed slowly, but they can erode quickly when perspective is lost.In this episode of The Mobilized Church Podcast, we talk about why long-term perspective is essential for discipleship, leadership, and church health. We explore how short-term thinking leads to reactionary decisions, discouragement, and abandoning good processes too early, while endurance and faithfulness over time produce stability.Faith is not formed in moments but across a lifetime. Perspective does not remove pain, but it does prevent panic.
What if the reason you keep hitting roadblocks in your business isn't about strategy or tactics, but about your relationship with yourself and how that ripples into every business relationship you have? In this episode, Kathryn shares a story about working with a million-dollar brand that revealed the hidden patterns keeping entrepreneurs stuck at the starting line or grinding through growth.BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL DISCOVER:Why your relationship with yourself including self-criticism, perfectionism, and lack of psychological safety to make mistakes, directly determines how you lead your team, serve your clients, and progress in your business, and how the same patterns that keep you stuck internally (unclear expectations, moving goalposts, fear of failure) show up externally in difficult client dynamics, team management challenges, and business friction points that feel harder than they should be.The concept of psychological safety and why creating it within yourself first, allowing yourself to fuck up, make mistakes, pivot, change course, and be contradictory without punishment or harsh self-judgment is essential not just for your own wellbeing but for building a team that thrives, maintaining healthy client relationships, and actually getting off the starting line instead of staying paralyzed by the need to have everything perfect before you begin. Why those expectations you create about timelines (I should be making money by now, I should have grown faster, I should be further ahead) cause so much pain, especially when we compare ourselves to others and weren't born with entrepreneurial skills but need to acquire them over time through trial and error, which requires giving yourself permission to learn marketing, sales, leadership, and scaling as crafts that take time to master rather than overnight accomplishments. How to distinguish between being truly off-path versus having an emotional flight response to obstacles—notice if your "I don't think this is right for me" feelings arise right after a bad sales call, client complaint, launch that didn't go as planned, or social media post that flopped, because if something is genuinely your passion and purpose, you wouldn't be having the conversation of whether it's the right path, you'd just keep going despite the challenges because the vision is so clear you literally can't live without pursuing it.And while you're here, follow us on Instagram @creativelyowned for more daily inspiration on effortlessly attracting the most aligned clients without spending hours marketing your business or chasing clients. http://www.MindsetOfAnOlympian.com - What is the single most important factor in success—across judo, wrestling, football, athletics, and life itself? After decades of experience as a Division I multi-sport athlete, professional fighter, Olympian, and international coach, Dr. Rhadi Ferguson identifies one foundational principle that consistently separates high performers from everyone else: position. In this talk, Dr. Ferguson breaks down the three critical dimensions of position that govern performance and long-term success:• Physical Position – Where your body is in space, what you are proximal to, and who you surround yourself with. Execution is impossible without correct alignment, presence, and environment.• Attitudinal Position – How you interpret adversity, setbacks, and pressure. Your attitude determines whether challenges become feedback or failure.• Cognitive Position – How you think, what you focus on, and how you manage expectations under stress. Elite performers think about execution; underperformers think about outcomes and avoidance.Drawing from real-world experience coaching and competing at the highest levels—including World Championships, Olympic pathways, professional MMA, and Division I sport—this talk connects applied sport psychology, metacognition, and elite performance principles into a single, actionable framework. If your results are not where you want them to be, the first question is not “Why?”The question is “Where are you positioned?”About Dr. Rhadi FergusonDr. Rhadi Ferguson is a 2004 Olympian, Division I athlete, international judo coach, and educator with decades of experience developing elite performers across multiple sports. Please visit: www.CoffeeWithRhadi.com - Follow us onFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/Coffeewithrhadi/?ref=br_rsInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/coffeewithrhadi/YouTube:www.youtube.com/channel/UCCeRmAFATZ9y1Tq2Xv0t_SQ?view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1PODCAST: Find your platform: https://pod.link/1327983677 #coffeewithrhadi #rhadi #rhadiferguson #family #olympian #quotes #motivationalquotes #inspirationalquotes #motivationalquote #lifequotes #quotesdaily #motivationquotes #motivation100 #keepgrowing #hustle247 #successdiaries #successsecrets #successtip #motivationvideo #motivatingquotes #successprinciples #millionairegentleman #successgoals #motivation302 #successadict #mindsetreset #repurpose

Devotion determines direction. The question for all of us is a simple one: Who — or what — has your devotion today? None of us will ever “drift” into godliness by accident. None of us will ever “drift” into what we're called to. You train for it. You take intentional steps toward it. We all want to start well, and there is nothing wrong with that. But starters are a dime a dozen. Finishers are one in a million. How can we truly finish what we've started? The story of Solomon is one we can all learn from. Solomon started well, but how did he finish? Just like Solomon, we all have choices to make every day. This message will equip you to make decisions — intentional decisions — that will show your devotion is to God and not yourself.
