What if the biggest growth barrier in your church… is your leadership pipeline? In this week's Fly on the Wall Podcast, I sit down with Pastor Darren from Oklahoma to talk about the difference between discipleship and leadership development, the qualities that set apart high-capacity leaders, and how to stop leaving leadership to chance. Here's what we get into in Episode 191:Why “just being discipled” isn't enoughWhat Jesus modeled in leadership circles—and how to do the sameThe exact traits we look for when apprenticing potential leadersHow to identify grit, hunger, and trajectoryWhy high-level leaders change everythingIf your dream is to multiply your reach, expand your impact, and develop leaders who build leaders, this episode is a must.
When you understand how a person thinks, speaks, acts, and sees the world, you feel like you know that person. This is true whether you have spent time with them, or if you have spent time with them through the magic of modern media.Television, radio, and social media can be used to make sure that people know about you, or they can be used to make people feel like they know you.I have written a 4-stanza poem from the perspective of 3 different personalities. The story arc is the same for all 3 poems. The 4-verse, 4 stanza structure is the same. The rhyming conventions are very similar. The only real difference is that these short poems reveal the hearts of 3 different people; their perspectives, their attitudes, their personalities. My partner Gene Naftulyev directed the singers who turned these poems into blues songs. You can read the song lyrics in the text of the Monday Morning Memo, or you can listen to the songs in the audio version of the memo. These are the words to the first poem, and the song that was created from it:The faster I go, the more I fall behind. The map is fading in my mind.Landmarks are not where they were before. And cars don't stop at red lights anymore.I don't want to be unkind andMake innocent people feel malignedBut are all the gas pedals nailed to the floor? Why don't cars stop at red lights anymore? Are these people colorblind? Are their panties in a bind? Are we fighting in a war?Why don't we stop at red lights anymore? Is there an evil mastermindWho is making us feel that we are falling behind?Perhaps we can dangle him in an intersectionAnd see if he gets a new sense of direction.© Roy H. Williams Oct. 18, 2025The singer of this song seems to be lamenting the loss of leisure. We perceive that he is troubled by the spiraling tyranny of the merely urgent. He doesn't want to be unkind. His questions about the red-light runners being “colorblind,” or “having their panties in a bind” reveals a comedic wit. We sympathize with him. We agree with him. We like him.Now let's tell that same story two more times using exactly the same structure, rhyming scheme, and storytelling devices. The only difference between that first poem and the next two poems will be the differing perspectives of the storytellers.I do not pretend to be a counselor-at-law,Or a judge, or a jury from Arkansas,But my heart does whisper this probing question:“When did people stop stopping at intersections?”We heard the words of Moses and foresawThat we would need to be a nation of Laws. But Moses did not give us “The 10 Suggestions.”So why did people stop stopping at intersections?Do you have a tragic flaw?Do you look good in-the-raw?If you want resurrection,You need to start stopping at intersections.Do you want sex appeal that makes ice thaw?Do you want people to look at you with awe?Do you want to achieve absolute perfection?Just hit your brakes at the next intersection.© Roy H. Williams, Oct 20, 2025That singer has a slightly more antagonistic attitude. His references to Moses and the Law reveal him to be more legalistic than the first singer. His additional comments about “counselor-at-law,” “nation of laws,” “resurrection” and “perfection” reveal the kind of black-and-white clarity that can result from a strict religious upbringing. We cannot be certain of these things, but we suspect them.
Send us a textHave you ever wondered why two women can walk into the same antenatal clinic and have completely different experiences? In this episode, I explore what I call the 'Sliding Doors' effect in maternity care — how the door you walk through, quite literally or metaphorically, can shape your confidence, choices, and ultimately your birth outcome.I unpack how seemingly small differences in care — the tone of a conversation, the attentiveness of a practitioner, the questions asked — can either empower you or leave you questioning your instincts. This episode is a deep dive into how chance encounters at antenatal appointments can ripple through an entire pregnancy and birth journey. You'll hear about:How the same clinic can feel like two entirely different worldsWhy one interaction can build confidence while another can create doubtThe difference between being truly heard versus just being managedStrategies for preparing yourself emotionally for whatever door you walk throughListener reflection:Which door did you walk through during your pregnancy — and how did it shape your story? If you love the podcast and would like to support it, then please use the link to 'buy me a coffee' - https://bmc.link/sallyannberesfordIf you would like to buy a copy of either of the books that accompany this podcast please go to your online bookseller or visit Amazon:-Labour of Love - The Ultimate Guide to Being a Birth Partner - click here:-https://bit.ly/LabourofloveThe Art of Giving Birth - Five Key Physiological Principles - https://amzn.to/3EGh9dfPregnancy Journal for 'The Art of Giving Birth' - Black and White version https://amzn.to/3CvJXmOPregnancy Journal for 'The Art of Giving Birth'- Colour version https://amzn.to/3GknbPFYou can find all my classes and courses on my website - www.sallyannberesford.co.uk Follow me on Instagram @theultimatebirthpartner Book a 1-2-1 session with Sallyann - https://linktr.ee/SallyannBeresford Please remember that the information shared with you in this episode is solely based on my own personal experiences as a doula and the private opinions of my guests, based on their own experiences. Bib-Lit Summary Oct 12,2025 Mark gives us a lot to think about in this lesson from Romans 6:11-13 Mark introduces us to a Novel by: C. E. Lewis, The Chronicles of NARNIA, The Silver Chair. In this mystical novel Lewis is asking a question through stories; Primarily What is Real? Mark addresses this through a detailed look at Romans 6: 11-13 1. Rom. 6:11, So you must consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Paul, in verse 9, says we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again. He died to sin but the life he lives he lives to God. Some of the sins we struggle with are greed, envy, honesty and pleasures. a. Align yourself with reality b. Believe what God Says c. Count yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ d. Do this every moment Dead to Sin --- Alive to God in Christ. 2. Rom. 6:12, Let choice not sin, therefore reign in your mortal body to make you obey its passions. 3. Rom. 6:13, Do not present your members to sin as instruments or unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life and your members to God as instruments or righteousness. Points for home: 1. Your thinking Determines your Living. a. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God b. When temptation comes pause and say, I am dead to this. This is not who I am anymore in Christ 2. You are always going to serve someone. a. The question isn't “will I serve ?” but “ Whom will I serve?” 3. Grace will empower what it demands. a. The same God that justifies you also sanctifies you b. You are not under law but under Grace

Can something actually be “proven safe” for everyone or does that go against what we know to be true about bioindividuality? In this empowering episode of the Nutritional Therapy and Wellness Podcast, host Jamie Belz sits down with Nolan Gleich, NTP, Certified Fertility Awareness Educator, and Digital Marketing Strategist at the Nutritional Therapy Association, to unpack the headlines linking Tylenol (acetaminophen) to autism and explore what true health freedom really means. Inside this episode, you'll discover: Why “proven safe” isn't a universal truth—and how bioindividuality challenges one-size-fits-all medicine The role of epigenetics, toxicity, nutrient deficiencies, and gut health in chronic illness and autism risk RFK's recent $50 million autism research initiative and what it could mean for families Practical, foundation-first alternatives for pain and fever support in pregnancy and childhood (hydration, digestion optimization, nutrient-dense foods, rest, immune support) How education empowers us to be confident and trustworthy advocates for our health This conversation isn't about blame—it's about hope, empowerment, and solutions. This is a conversation about being a "Zillennial" straddling two worlds, living with chronic illness while doing the work, and why our generation's digital organizing connects back to ancestral ways of resistance. Jada opens up about the fear, the fatigue, and why sometimes the most radical thing we can do is be still. Sunday, September 14, 2025 - Today, Pastor Mike titles the message: “Identity Determines Activity.” We live in a culture where identity has become one of the most confusing and contested issues of our time. People are searching—often desperately—for something to anchor who they are. Too many look to the wrong sources: past achievements or failures, the opinions of others, or the ever-changing standards of society. For those of us who are born again—washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, and standing on the unshakable Word of God—our identity comes not from man, but from God. Because Christ lives in us, the way we live—our actions, our character, our decisions—must reflect the identity we have in Him. Holiness is not optional. Obedience is not outdated. We are called to prove our identity to a watching world in authenticity and love. Come worship and study with us.

Week 3 is upon us! After only two weeks, the college football season has not disappointed as it's delivered on entertaining games and big surprises. There is no reason to believe Week 3 will be any different as it is headlined by a huge game in South Bend. 16th-ranked Texas A&M visits 8th-ranked Notre Dame. After a close loss to Miami to start the season and a bye in Week 2, the Fighting Irish have a lot to prove to backup the preseason hype. With no ranked teams currently remaining on their schedule, would a loss to the Aggies all but eliminate them from the CFP conversation? Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey debate this topic as they preview the game. Plus, there was a lot of drama during the week about AP voting. The guys share their thoughts on the situation and talk about times they messed up when they had an AP vote. They also share whether or not the AP should change their voting system. Should we have a year-round poll, even in the offseason?Later, Ross shares his Congressional Minute that is much more than a minute. The future of college football is being discussed in Washington D.C. today with the SCORE Act (Student Compensation and Opportunity through Rights and Endorsements Act) and the Sports Broadcasting Act being the two cornerstones of the conversation. Both of these acts may drastically change the future of the sport and college athletics in general. Ross breaks down the details of each of these acts and the impact they could have. The guys then discuss these monumental decisions and what they think the end result will be.Finally, Andy, Ross and Steven make their picks for this week's I've Got A Feeling with Georgia, Texas A&M and Washington State getting the nod from the crew. Altogether the crew's record is 1-5, but there is hope this week will drastically improve that record. Learn how to accelerate your growth by going to outcomesrocket.com Strong science isn't just a checkbox; it's a growth strategy that can set digital health startups apart in crowded markets. In this episode, Dr. Jennifer Huberty, CEO & founder of Fit Minded, explores how behavioral health companies at any stage can build scientific credibility without depleting their resources. She stresses that many startups fail to recognize the value of the data they already possess: data that can drive business decisions, fuel marketing narratives, and even lead to peer-reviewed publications. Jennifer walks through cost-effective research strategies, such as retrospective analyses and national surveys, while cautioning against fragmented, one-off studies that lack strategic alignment. She also introduces the idea of “traveling science,” a framework for making research actionable across departments, and emphasizes that trust, transparency, and clear alignment with business goals are essential for impactful, lasting research partnerships. Tune in and learn how to leverage research not just for credibility, but for growth, clarity, and competitive advantage in the behavioral health tech landscape! Send us a textTerry Tucker's life story reads like an action movie with an unexpected spiritual twist. From college basketball player to SWAT hostage negotiator to a 13-year battle with cancer that doctors initially gave him just two years to survive, Terry has transformed each challenge into an opportunity for growth and service. When faced with a terminal diagnosis, Terry asked himself a profound question: "How can I turn this death sentence into a life sentence?" His answer led him to discover purpose in pain and meaning in misery. Despite losing his foot in 2018 and his leg in 2020 to cancer, Terry radiates an infectious optimism that challenges conventional wisdom about suffering. As he shares with disarming honesty, "I've done more living in the 13 years that I've been dying of cancer than I've done in my entire life."The wisdom Terry has gathered along his journey forms the foundation of his book "Sustainable Excellence," where he outlines ten principles for leading an extraordinary life. Among these, one stands out as particularly transformative: "Most people think with their fears and insecurities instead of using their minds." This insight has powerful implications for anyone feeling stuck or afraid to pursue their deepest aspirations.Terry's approach to adversity is built on what he calls his "three Fs" – faith, family, and friends. His spiritual journey has evolved through his health battles, creating a relationship with God that accommodates both gratitude and frustration, trust and questioning. This authentic spirituality provides a framework for finding purpose even in the most challenging circumstances.Whether you're facing health challenges, professional setbacks, or simply seeking greater meaning in your life, Terry's message reminds us that our limits are often self-imposed. As he illustrates through a fascinating story about rats treading water, hope and belief can extend our endurance far beyond what we think possible. Why are some people straight while others are gay or bisexual? What determines our sexual orientation anyway? Today, we're going to be diving into what we've learned about the biological origins of our sexuality from decades of scientific research. As you'll see, there's not a simple and easy story—it doesn't boil down to something like a “gay gene.” It's way more complex than that! I am joined once again by Nathan Lents, a Professor of Biology at John Jay College, where he is the director of the Cell and Molecular Biology program. His research lab studies human genetic evolution and forensic DNA technology. He also writes popular science articles and is the author of the new book The Sexual Evolution: How 500 Millions Years of Sex, Gender, and Mating Shape Modern Relationships. Some of the specific topics we explore include: Is same-sex attraction genetic? How can two people who share 100% of the same DNA have different sexual orientations? When researchers are studying sexual orientation, should they be looking at attraction, identity, behavior, or all of the above? Why is having more older brothers linked to greater odds of homosexuality in men? What other biological factors are associated with sexual orientation? You can check out Nathan’s website to learn more about his work. Got a sex question?
