I love my coffee. AND also know that the way it effects me means I have to be conscious about my coffee consumption. Let's chat about about what it may be doing and why that is particularly important right now.

Ever wonder why you eat that whole carton of ice cream even though you know it will make you feel like crap? (Or is that just me?) Today I talk about why often times the food we eat has more to do with other areas of our lives than we think, and why we need to dive into this in order to create holistic change in our health. At the end of the episode I talk about an exciting opportunity to work with me on your own health without committing to the whole cost of my 3 or 6 month programs. Today I ramble on about why I think diets are lame and diet culture needs to go away.
I think the human brain is fascinating. I also think it's resiliency is fascinating. Today is a quick overview of how stress and trauma effect your brain, both physically and mentally/emotionally. I also talk about how to fix it!
You asked, here it is! In my last episode on gut health I mentioned that stress has an effect on gut health and several of you asked about that so today I dive in a little deeper on what physically happens to your gut when you are stressed, and what some tangible things are that you can do to counter or heal that!
I am super passionate about this particular aspect of health because it means that food IS medicine and we can make tremendous changes in our overall health with the way we eat. It's not just a weight loss thing. Our gut health is tied to so much more, including our brains. So today I talk about the basics of that connection, what studies have found about the impact of gut health on greater health, and how you can improve that.
It's a term we hear ALL the damn time but what does that even really mean? And why is it important to do so? Today I ramble on a bit about that and talk about some ways you can start re-establishing a connection with your body right away.
This episode was inspired by the ubiquitous meme calling for introverts to put down their books and check on their extroverted friends who are not ok. Which is super intriguing to me. This episode is part one in a series talking about how being an ambivert, extrovert or introvert effects your experience of the times we are living in, and the relationships we have. We are kicking it off talking about what input introverts may have for extroverts adjusting to more solitary time than many bargained for.
Today is truly a ramble. I ramble about the habitual asking/answering of the question "How are you?" in a less than honest manner, why we do it, and what why we need to stop.
This episode dives into the thought rambling of my mind while I was on my last run about how my experiences of running and training for a half marathon are very similar to my experiences with quarantine. Even if you don't run, I am sure there are parallels between many hobbies/endeavors and quarantine life. I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Today we dive into why there is this collective experience of exhaustion even though most of our daily lives have become much more limited than we are used to.
This episode marks a Wild Joy milestone! My very first guest on the podcast is my dear friend, Katrina Beede, and she has a story to TELL! It is powerful and inspirational what this human has faced in her life. Join me as we chat holistic health: what it is, what drew Katrina to walk this path, and what three things she thinks each of us should be doing to improve our health right now. Due to a sound mishap (it's a learning curve, right?) I sound scratchy and far away, luckily Katrina sounds MUCH better and she does most of the talking. Low quality sound with high quality content.
With all this sheltering in place, we are about to get a lot more one-on-one time with ourselves. How do we move through this while building our resiliency to come out on the other side stronger, joyful and vibrant? Today I talk about 5 things you can do to create a routine to set yourself up for a positive mindset and 5 things you can do to interrupt the cycle of overwhelm or anxiety when living through these crazy circumstances.
With all this self-isolation and shelter in place endeavors, it is more important than ever to eat in a way that will boost your immune system strength. If you are anything like me and having a little anxiety and feeling powerless, here are some simple things to reduce the overwhelm and help you control what you can.
