Tired of ADHD strategies that don't work? Here's what actually does. FREE training here: https://programs.tracyotsuka.com/signup_____Gratitude is talked about a lot, but for us with ADHD brains it isn't just a feel-good idea. It is a physiological strategy that changes how the brain functions. In this episode, Tracy breaks down why gratitude is not optional for ADHD. It starts with dopamine. ADHD brains rely on positive emotion to initiate action, sustain focus, and regulate emotion. Gratitude spikes dopamine, boosts serotonin, improves sleep, and builds the emotional foundation that makes everything else feel more doable. Tracy explains how this loop works and why even trying to think of something to be grateful for is enough to start shifting your brain chemistry. She also shares personal stories, including the impact of a daily gratitude practice, the “positive emotion dossier” she developed for A-OK, and the profound lessons she learned from a woman with ADHD living with metastatic cancer who embodied gratitude in the hardest circumstances. Tracy walks through the five levels of gratitude, the ADHD habit of scanning for what's wrong, and how gratitude helps interrupt the spiral. This episode is both practical and encouraging, giving listeners a clear understanding of how gratitude improves executive function, stabilizes mood, strengthens habits, and helps ADHD brains filter out noise. Tracy also explores how gratitude intersects with trauma and how emotional healing can lead to post-traumatic growth. If you've ever wondered why gratitude matters or how to build a practice that actually works for your brain, this episode offers tools you can use immediately.Send a Message: Your Name | Email | Message If this podcast helps you understand your ADHD brain, Shift helps you train it. Take my FREE Hormone Symptom Profile Assessment: https://bit.ly/takemyhormonequiz Most midlife women think carbs are the enemy… but the real problem isn't the carbs—it's protein (or a lack of it.) In this episode of the Rainmaker Podcast, host Gui Costin welcomes Karl Engelmann, co-founder and COO of Sarmaya Partners, to share the story behind the firm's rapid emergence and his philosophy on sales, leadership, and entrepreneurship. With over three decades of experience in financial services, Karl offers listeners a rare, behind-the-scenes look into launching an asset management firm and the strategic thinking driving its success.Karl begins by tracing his unconventional career path, from aspiring journalist to accomplished sales leader. His communication skills and passion for storytelling laid the foundation for a career that spanned roles at Angel Oak Capital, Cambiar Investors, and AIM/INVESCO. These experiences culminated in the co-founding of Sarmaya Partners, where Karl saw the opportunity to build a firm aligned with his vision and values. The conversation dives deep into Sarmaya's unique investment strategy, which centers around a thematic belief in a new commodity super cycle. Rather than chase overcrowded markets, Karl and his partner Wasif identified a return to tangible assets like gold, silver, and copper as the next long-term trend. After initially structuring the firm as an LP, they pivoted to launching an actively managed ETF in January 2024 to better serve a broader investor base.Karl shares Sarmaya's go-to-market strategy and how they've grown from two founders to a six-person team, carefully hiring seasoned professionals with deep industry relationships. He emphasizes the power of focus, targeting RIAs, family offices, and mid-sized broker-dealers—segments often overlooked by larger firms but open to differentiated strategies. A major theme throughout is the importance of relationships over transactions, and Karl's approach is deeply rooted in decades of trust and credibility built across the industry.Sales process and infrastructure also play a key role in the discussion. Karl highlights the importance of having a clean, well-maintained CRM as the central nervous system of the firm's sales efforts. Partnering with Dakota has helped Sarmaya stay agile and organized in an environment where client rosters and firm dynamics are constantly shifting. The episode also explores Karl's leadership style, which blends high accountability with trust and autonomy. He believes in empowering experienced salespeople to execute without micromanagement, while maintaining clarity through communication and shared goals. His mantra—"take the bit out of the mouth and let them run"—underscores his belief in hiring the right people and giving them room to perform. As the episode closes, Karl speaks candidly about the biggest challenge facing Sarmaya: growing assets under management. Yet his energy is unwavering. With a strong product, clear strategy, and relentless optimism, Karl's approach to sales and leadership provides an inspiring blueprint for anyone building a firm from the ground up. This episode is a masterclass in execution, resilience, and the long game of relationship-driven sales.Tired of chasing outdated leads? Lurch and I are joined by Ken Madden from Ciro and we talk about counterfeit and knock off motorcycle products. Ken is a Senior Product Designer at Ciro and he just happens to also be a Patreon supporter of Law Abiding Biker. Ken, along with Ciro and other motorcycle parts innovators and creators are being ripped off. Overseas companies that do not respect patents are recreating inferior version of the hard work others put in. Knockoff motorcycle products may look like a bargain up front, but they come with some serious downsides that riders often don't realize until it's too late. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE 1. Lower Quality Materials Knockoffs typically use cheaper metals, plastics, and electronics. That means parts can crack, fade, corrode, or fail much faster than name-brand components. 2. Poor Fitment & Compatibility These products often aren't engineered to OEM tolerances. Expect problems like: Misaligned holes Rattling or vibrating Parts that require modification to fit Components that interfere with other accessories 3. Reduced Safety This is the biggest risk. Knockoff: Helmets may not meet DOT/ECE standards Brake parts may not withstand heat Lighting may fail or deliver low visibility Structural parts can break under stress A small failure at 70 mph can become a major problem. 4. No Warranty, Support, or Testing Reputable motorcycle brands invest in R&D, testing, and customer support. Knockoffs typically offer: No meaningful warranty No replacement parts No safety testing No customer service Once it fails, you're on your own CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! 5. Shorter Lifespan (Costing More Over Time) Cheap parts often wear out quickly, so riders end up replacing them multiple times. The "savings" disappear fast. 6. Potential Damage to Your Bike Poorly made accessories can: Stress mounting points Scratch paint Cause electrical issues Throw off suspension or geometry Saving $50 on a part can cause hundreds in damage. 7. Resale & Reliability Hit Buyers can spot cheap accessories. Knockoffs on a bike can: Lower resale value Make the bike look poorly maintained Raise concerns about what other shortcuts were taken 8. Eric discusses the philosophical concept that being worn out from work is actually a powerful sign of success. Triplet shares how he was inspired by the quote, "What a privilege to be tired from the work you once beg the universe for," which encourages listeners to reframe exhaustion as a blessing rooted in purpose. He recounts his career journey building aquariums and ponds, explaining the transition from hands-on labor to operating a large business, acknowledging that managing the "burden" of a growing enterprise is a necessary part of achieving his entrepreneurial dream. Triplet also reveals his newer role in mentoring and coaching fellow contractors through his "Train with Triplet" program, fulfilling an unexpected prediction that he would become a teacher. Throughout the narrative, he insists that gratitude is the key antidote to burnout, serving as a discipline necessary to appreciate one's current opportunities. Key Takeaways: View the fatigue from the work necessary to achieve your dreams as a privilege and a blessing. Treat gratitude as a discipline by constantly reminding yourself of the opportunities you have to serve. Use gratitude as an antidote to counteract feelings of professional stress and burnout. Do not allow the criticism or judgment of others to prevent you from pursuing your goals. Remember to soak up moments of success and continuously reflect on your achievements and wins.

Tired from trying to do it all but never actually feeling like you're getting anywhere? Get ready to rewire your mind, regulate your nervous system and reclaim your happiness! In today's episode I open up about losing my granny, and how I turned one of the toughest experiences of my life into power, peace and purpose.Together we unpack the seven layers of fear, how to get from “people will judge me” to the honest emotion beneath it, and why one song's worth of feeling can change your brain's predictions about capacity. I share the three simple rituals that rebuilt my resilience and how they trained my body for safety, lowered anxiety, and turned peace, power and purpose into a daily practice. This is where the shift from external to inner locus of control happens: when your calendar matches your core values, your peace stops depending on other people, and your worth is no longer outsourced to output. We also talk about choosing harmony over hustle, honoring intuition when the world says “move faster,” and the mindset reframe that changed everything for me: life happens for me, not to me. From there, bliss stops being a destination and becomes a baseline—created by consistent, compassionate and simple systems. In the second half of Lauryn's conversation with marketing expert Ryan Rieder, they shift from lead behavior and AI into a bigger, more powerful discussion: what the future of marketing will actually look like. As AI becomes standard and consumer behavior continues to evolve, funnels are losing their influence, trust is becoming the currency, and personal brand is emerging as the most important marketing strategy for practice owners. This episode explores how community, authenticity, and consistent human connection are reshaping how people make decisions in 2027 and beyond.Lauryn and Ryan break down the rise of the “messy middle,” why reactivations are increasing with print newsletters, how workshops and in-person experiences are changing, and why being known, liked, and trusted will matter more than any ad strategy. If Part 1 explained why lead behavior has changed, Part 2 dives into what to do next—and how to position your clinic and brand for the new era of marketing.Key Takeaways:The strongest marketing strategy of the future is community, not funnels. As consumers become more skeptical of being sold to, trust, belonging, and personal brand will outperform traditional lead-generation tactics. The “messy middle” explains today's nonlinear buying behavior. People now require multiple platforms, repeated exposures, and varied touchpoints before making a decision—making consistency more important than conversion tricks.Print newsletters and human connection are making a comeback. Physical, tangible touchpoints create unusually strong recall and retention, especially in a digital world saturated with automated content.AI will streamline tasks, but authenticity will be the differentiator. Practices that pair AI efficiency with genuine, relatable human presence will dominate the next phase of patient engagement and brand loyalty.About the Guest:Ryan Rieder is a leading marketing strategist and CEO specializing in lead generation, AI-driven systems, and high-volume patient acquisition for chiropractic and healthcare clinics. Do you know the difference between a high HRV and a low Resting Heart Rate? More importantly, do you know how to change your training based on that data?Today, Ross is joined by Peter Tierney, a veteran Sports Scientist and Performance Coach who has worked with elite organizations ranging from Leinster Rugby to Lululemon. Peter specializes in "connecting the dots"—taking complex physiological data and turning it into actionable coaching advice. In this episode, you will learn:The Wearable Trap: Why obsessing over your Whoop or Garmin sleep score might be hurting your performance, and which metrics (like temperature and morning HRV) actually predict illness. The "SHIT" Framework: A simple 4-step checklist (Stiff, Heavy, Irritable, Tired) to decide if you should push hard or pull back on training.Marathon Science: Why your taper feels wrong (but is right), and the specific math for effective carb-loading (liquid vs. solid carbs).Recovery Myths: Why "feeling" recovered is often more accurate than your data, and how to use naps as a stress "circuit breaker."Mentioned in this episode:Heart Rate Variability (HRV)The "SHIT" Recovery FrameworkCarbohydrate Loading strategies (6-10g per kg)Supplements: Creatine Monohydrate, Omega 3s, Beetroot shots (Nitrates)Quote of the episode:"A recovery strategy if you feel tired shouldn't be the same as if you feel stiff or heavy. Send us fan responses! Tired of feeling like the public owns your time, your data, and your money? We lay out a direct path from dependency to private control by reframing wealth as a family function instead of a solo hustle. The conversation gets blunt because the stakes are high: if you stay a beneficiary, you wait for handouts; if you become a trustee, you write the rules, document the purpose, and build something that outlives you.We start with the mindset shift—private life is common sense, enforced through boundaries and contracts. From there, we break down why family law is private law and how that changes daily choices around education, housing, vehicles, and even the names you use on the record. You'll learn the trustee's job description in plain language: control everything and own nothing, keep dealings at arm's length, and align activities with a written mission. We also unpack substance over form, showing how thoughtful documentation and clear purpose keep your structure credible while avoiding the traps of public debt and public liabilities. Then we get practical. We talk family business trusts, ministry structures, and LLC interfaces. We outline how to pair insurance with your trust so capital arrives exactly when your family needs it, and how endowments, archives, and charitable giving strengthen status and legacy. Throughout, we highlight nationality, jurisdiction, and how to stop defaulting into public terms you never wrote. If you've wondered how established families preserve power for generations, this is the blueprint—plain, actionable, and tested.Ready to step into the private and act like a trustee? Tired of conferences that keep everyone indoors and restless? We sat down with Wes Oliver, director of sales at Visit Bentonville, to unpack a NEW WAY: The Unconventional Convention concept is a walkable, multi-venue model that trades hallways and windowless ballrooms for light, movement, and a sense of place. Bentonville stitches together high-quality spaces around downtown—think the Ledger, the Record, Compton Gardens, and new capacity at The Heartland Whole Health Institute and The Compton Hotel.Beyond meeting rooms, Bentonville's strengths show up in curated experiences: guided rides on nearby trails, docent-led tours at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and family-friendly stops at the Amazeum. The result is a destination conference model that boosts attendee satisfaction, supports sustainability with car-light movement, and turns a free afternoon into a meaningful part of the program. If you sat down this week to write your 25-wants list and… nothing came? If your mind went blank or your heart felt heavy? If the idea of wanting anything just felt exhausting? You are not alone — and nothing has gone wrong. In this quick bonus episode, we're talking about what happens when you're simply too tired to want anything. Maybe life has worn you out. Maybe you've been in survival mode for far too long. Maybe you're carrying responsibilities, expectations, and emotional weight that have quietly shut down your ability to dream. Inside this short episode, you'll learn: Why emotional exhaustion makes it hard to know what you want Why your brain fights dreaming (and how to work with it, not against it) How to gently wake your desires back up A simple reflection prompt to help your heart soften and open Why this discomfort is actually part of the dreaming process And how I am going through the Six Months from Now Movement right alongside you This is your invitation to take a breath, reset, and remember: Dreaming isn't something you “should already be good at.” It's something you rebuild slowly, gently, with God's help. You are doing better than you think. And you're not doing this alone. WHAT'S NEXT? Choose your next best step
Tired of starting over every Monday? You're not alone — and it's not your fault. In How to Ditch the All-or-Nothing Mindset and Set Goals That Stick, I break down the real reason your workouts and nutrition plans don't last: perfectionism disguised as discipline. So many midlife women believe if they can't do it all — the perfect routine, the flawless food tracking, the six-day workout plan — then it's not worth doing at all. But that mindset drains your energy and kills your progress. In this episode, I show you how to reframe the all-or-nothing fitness mindset into something realistic and actually doable. You'll learn why real results come from consistent action, not from doing everything perfectly. I share how missing a workout isn't failure. It's part of the process. I explain how to shift your mindset to focus on habits that support your life, rather than someone else's plan. You'll walk away with a clear strategy to stop quitting, build energy, and regain trust in yourself. Plus, I'll walk you through the exact reframes I use with my clients — and in my own training — to ditch guilt and create momentum. If you're done with the quick fixes and ready to build something that lasts, this one's for you. Let's leave perfection behind and build real progress — together.

Tired of ADHD strategies that don't work? Here's what actually does. FREE training here: https://programs.tracyotsuka.com/signup_____Dr. Gilly Kahn spent years studying psychology before realizing how much of her own emotional world had been shaped by ADHD.Dr. Gilly earned a Master's in Experimental Psychology, a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and built a full clinical practice before receiving her ADHD diagnosis in her early thirties. Looking back, the signs had been there all along: migraines that never made sense, intense emotional reactions, shifting hormones, and a lifelong habit of masking so well that even she missed the patterns. Like many of us, she excelled in school and in her career, which kept her symptoms invisible until they could no longer be explained away. Now based in Atlanta, Dr. Gilly specializes in neurodiversity and emotion regulation, helping women understand the parts of ADHD that rarely get named. In this conversation, she and Tracy explore why women are so often misdiagnosed, how migraines and PMDD intersect with dopamine and estrogen, and why emotional dysregulation is often the hardest part for women who appear “put together” on the outside. Dr. Gilly also breaks down the science behind sleep, memory, and hormones, and explains why trauma is often confused with ADHD in clinical settings. Her new book, Allow Me to Interrupt, brings clarity to the experiences so many women have carried silently for years and focuses on the emotional patterns that shape women's ADHD, from hormonal shifts to migraines to the pressure to stay composed even when everything feels overwhelming.Resources:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gilly-kahn-m-a-ph-d-1996892b4 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drgillykahn Website: https://www.drgillykahn.comArticle: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kAg0EnN_nwN1cVTM3P9cyD1wFspLg71m/view?usp=sharingSend a Message: Your Name | Email | Message If this podcast helps you understand your ADHD brain, Shift helps you train it. This segment covers all three episodes: Episode 1 (July 4, 2025, Toronto ice warehouse, 58 minutes) where Drake debuted “What Did I Miss?” at No. 2 after a signal delay cost him No. 1; Episode 2 (late July 2025, Manchester with Central Cee, 41 minutes) featuring the runaway “Which One” single; and Episode 3 (September 2025, Milan, 20 cameras, 100+ crew across 10 locations) previewing “Somebody Loves Me” remix and “Dog House” with YEAT. "ADHD is a superpower."I used to say that too. I was coached to tell my daughter that her ADHD brain was special, powerful, a gift. But when Kristen Carder said "Actually, no it's not, and that's okay," something clicked for me. Because here's what we don't talk about: telling someone who's struggling just to get out of bed on time that their brain is a superpower? That can feel like toxic positivity wrapped up in a bow. It dismisses the very real daily struggles that come with ADHD.This conversation with Kristen, certified life coach and host of the I Have ADHD Podcast, completely shifted how I understand ADHD procrastination and motivation. If you've ever beat yourself up for procrastinating on the things you care about most, if you've ever wondered why you can't just find the motivation to do what you know you need to do, or if you love someone with ADHD and want to actually understand what they're going through, this episode is going to matter. Kristen gets real about why procrastination has nothing to do with laziness, why motivation is basically useless, and how building emotional resilience is the actual key to getting things done. This one's important, friends. In This Episode, We Cover:Why the "ADHD is a superpower" narrative can actually be harmful and what empowers people insteadThe truth about ADHD procrastinationWhy waiting for motivation is a trap and what to fuel your actions with insteadWhy the right things in life almost always feel terrible and that's completely normalConnect with Kristen:Website: www.ihaveadhd.comInstagram: www.instagram.com/i.have.adhd.podcastYouTube: www.youtube.com/@i.have.adhd.podcast Podcast: www.podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/i-have-adhd-podcast/id1446874607 ________________________________
