Lama Zopa Rinpoche reads some verses from Phabongkha Dechen Nyingpo's Calling the Guru from Afar and discusses the meaning. He talks about the rarity of finding a precious human body and meeting the Dharma. In every second, you have the unmistaken choice to either create the cause to be born in hell or to achieve enlightenment. Having this incredible opportunity is only due to the kindness of the guru.Rinpoche says that all happiness comes from bodhicitta. Whatever way we can benefit others, we must do it. To illustrate, he gives the example of a van that Roger bought, and they covered with mantras, images of deities, and Dharma messages. In this way, whoever sees, touches, remembers, or dreams of this van purifies all their sufferings and achieves enlightenment.Rinpoche says that there's nobody to work for except other sentient beings. To free them from all suffering and bring them to enlightenment, you first need to achieve the omniscient mind and then full enlightenment. To do that, you need to actualize the steps of the path to enlightenment. Rinpoche explains that this means not just meditating on what you like and leaving aside what you don't like, such as the lower realm sufferings or impermanence and death. Without renunciation of samsara, you cannot realize compassion and bodhicitta. Thus, you cannot enter the Mahayana path.Having the realization of bodhicitta is not enough, one must also realize emptiness through dependent arising. Rinpoche says that the borderline of existing and not existing is extremely subtle. Phenomena exist in mere name, merely imputed by mind. He says that the analysis of emptiness is completed when one realizes the unification of emptiness and dependent arising. If it comes to this point of realizing the subtle dependent arising, then your realization of emptiness is correct. If it doesn't lead to this point—if it leads to either nihilism or externalism—that is not realizing the Middle Way view.From April 10 to May 10, 2004, Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave extensive teachings during the Mahamudra Retreat at Buddha House in Australia. While the retreat focused on Mahamudra, Rinpoche also taught on a wide range of Lamrim topics. This retreat marked the beginning of a series of month-long retreats in Australia. Tommy grew up in North Bergen New Jersey and had his first encounter with a UFO when he was six years old, stopping his brother from being abducted. He came close to his first alien at the age of twelve with his friend in his own house. During those six years, he spent working with a deity (Green Tara ) which he found out who it was actually 12 years later. Robert D. Morningstar is currently Co-Editor of UFO Digest. RDM is a civilian intelligence analyst, and photo analyst living in New York City. He is a graduate of Power Memorial Academy ('67) with a degree in psychology from Fordham University ('74). In the past, R. Scott Lemriel was the director of 50 weekly TV shows with the titled theme "Exploring Your Spiritual Life" in Washington State. Author, journalist and TV personality Nick Pope worked for the British government for 21 years, at the Ministry of Defense. In the course of his career, he served in a number of different posts, but is best known for work that he did between 1991 and 1994, when he was posted to a division where his duties included investigating reports of UFOs. The purpose of these investigations was to see whether anything reported might pose any threat to the defense of the UK, or suggest the existence of anything that might be of more general defense interest. Most sightings turned out to be misidentifications of ordinary objects or phenomena, but a small percentage remained unexplained. Contrary to popular belief, there was no definitive evidence that any of these sightings were extraterrestrial in origin. However, the Ministry of Defense remained open-minded about the possibilities and took no position on the existence of extraterrestrial life. Nick Pope was initially skeptical about UFOs, but his official research and investigation convinced him that whatever the nature of the sightings that remained unexplained, the UFO phenomenon raised important defense, national security and air safety issues. He was particularly interested in cases where the witnesses were pilots, or where UFOs were tracked on radar. More recently, Nick Pope has been involved in the program to declassify and release the MoD's UFO files and send them to the National Archives. This involved selecting some cases that would be of interest to the media, making a film to promote the release and giving newspaper, TV and radio interviews to publicize the story. Nick Pope left the Ministry of Defense in 2006. He now works as a freelance journalist and media commentator, writing and broadcasting on a wide range of subjects, including UFOs, the unexplained, conspiracy theories, fringe science, defense, intelligence, space and science fiction. Nick Pope works with a wide range of film companies, TV networks and production companies, helping develop ideas for new films, TV shows and documentaries. He contributes regularly to various news programs, chat shows and documentaries. Nick Pope works with various PR, marketing and advertising agencies, promoting sci-fi films and advertising campaigns themed around the unexplained. He has worked for clients that include Microsoft, 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures and has been involved in promoting The X-Files: I Want To Believe and the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still. Nick Pope lectures all around the world and this has included addressing the Oxford Union and the Cambridge Union Society, as well as speaking at the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and Global Competitiveness Forum 2011. Nick Pope has written four books, all of which have been published by Simon & Schuster. His non-fiction books are Open Skies Closed Minds, about UFOs, and The Uninvited, about the alien abduction mystery. Both books made the Top Ten in the Sunday Times list of hardback non-fiction books, with Open Skies Closed Minds reaching number three and staying in the Top Ten for ten weeks. These books have been translated into various foreign languages. Nick Pope has also written two science fiction novels about an alien invasion, Operation Thunder Child and Operation Lightning Strike. John Rowe is a retired airline pilot and I spent 38 years in the cockpit of Delta aircraft. During that time he watched and listened as a UFO was sighted by one of Delta's jets near Atlanta GA. At that time, 1967 John was the third pilot on a DC-8. This sighting was made not only by airline crews but Atlanta radar. John states that a Delta jet actually chased the UFO with Atlanta ATC providing permission to do so. Later on in 1975 John Rowe personally witnessed a UFO 1/2 mile south of Brady, Texas. It crossed the road in front of John one night less than 200 feet above the ground. In the spring of 1972, a man chasing gold and glory ventured deep into the Yukon wilderness, dreaming of striking it rich. But what began as a hopeful mining expedition soon unraveled into a two-month nightmare that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Fresh from Vietnam and toughened by work on the Alaska Pipeline, he believed no wilderness could break him. When he purchased the mineral rights to an abandoned 1950s claim—once owned by a prospector named Dutch Hanson who mysteriously vanished after a promising start—he ignored every red flag. Gold fever clouded his judgment, and soon he would realize the true cost of his ambition. After flying into a remote valley with a bush pilot, he built a cabin and began working his sluice box along a promising creek bend. Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations - and author of A PARANORMAL CASEBOOK: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium, which hit the bookshelves October 1, 2005 His 2004 releases were GHOST HUNTING: How to Investigate the Paranormal and HAUNTINGS & POLTERGEISTS: A Ghost Hunter's Guide (Ronin Publishing). His first book, ESP, HAUNTINGS AND POLTERGEISTS (1986, Warner Books) was named the "Sacred Text"` on ghosts by NEWSWEEK (in August, 1996). PSYCHIC DREAMING (1991, Warner Books; 1999 Barnes & Noble Books), deals with the current understanding of dreams in general and psychic dreams in particular. His third book, REINCARNATION, CHANNELING AND POSSESSION, was published by Warner Books in April, 1993. MIND OVER MATTER (Kensington Books, 1996) focused on the limits human beings set for themselves and on psychokinesis.
