    In this episode of the Queering Community Health Series, you hear from Zaraia Fabunmi the host of Queer Social Health: Going Out and Learning In. Hearing from three special guests: Helena Kouame, Annabelle Niblett, and Anonymous J. Doe. We have conversations of what it means to be a queer person with our outward expression, along with social trends, media, racism, and community. Helena is a 16 year old creative, African American woman, who loves music! Next you hear from Annabelle who is a 17 year old young musician and debater, who takes pride in her artistry and work, and lastly we have J.     Cole Stevens lost his food service job when the 2020 pandemic hit. Going into a problem solving mentality, he started organizing with other youth to further advocate for unemployment benefits to be available to high schoolers the state of Minnesota. Later they sued the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Since winning the lawsuit, Cole has co-founded a youth-led organization called Bridgemakers, which is focused on mentoring and amplifying young BIPOC voices while creating lasting change for his community and those around him.

    Artist Profile: Hibaaq Ibrahim

    Hibaaq Ibrahim is a local Minneapolis youth mentor and muralist. Growing up in Lakeville MN, Hibaaq faced many challenges in terms of coming into herself and her artwork. People pushed different narratives on her because of her artistic abilities at the time and her race as a Black woman. Hibaaq is using her experiences to help facilitate and mold young people and their work, while also using her passions to create joy for others. Hibaaq's art has lots of floral and natural elements, with bold colors. This creates a fun and vibrant piece of art that is joyous and a wonderful experience for the people who are lucky enough to see it.
