From the age of 40 when our hormones begin to change and prepare us for the ageing process, our metabolism needs to be kept high and that won't happen unless we control it. Yes, men do naturally have a higher metabolic rate than a woman but a woman can elevate her metabolic rate to burn fat for the rest of her life. Don't use age as an excuse to slow down. The only time the metabolism may be unable to fire up through moving and building muscle, is if one has an under-active thyroid or Cushings Syndrome.

Episode 3: "How To Release The Strangle Hold That Food Might Have On You" Over time, you may have created a relationship around food. You've committed and allowed it to control you when food has no idea that it has a relationship with you. Release the food strangle hold from your thinking and beliefs. Don't allow food to become your focus when it's purpose is to fuel you, only eat when hungry and not when the clock tells you it's time, avoid allowing your blood sugars to drop and going past the point of hunger (about every 5 hours) as this leads to binging on high sugar or high carb foods. Don't use food as a reward and understand that you will not do without - you have an abundance of food available to you.
