The Pain Body - all of us have one. In this chapter, Eckhart says 'the pain body is an addiction to unhappiness.' Our pain bodies thrive on negative thinking and drama. There are individual and collective pain bodies, including the collective female pain body, which has been suppressed over the past two thousand years because it was the only way for the (male-based) ego to gain strength.
