She comes to say, that Mrs John Dashwood is ill, and has been seen by a doctor who happened to be seeing Charlotte's newborn just after being to the Dashwood's place. Mrs. Jenning's then goes on to explain that Anne let slip to Fanny that Edward and Lucy have been engaged for the past year. This threw Fanny into hysterics and she, only after her husband's pleading with her to let them pack their bags first, threw the Miss Steeles out of their house. Elanor is shocked by this account and while she manages to keep her cool before Mrs. Jennings, she feels deeply shocked by what has happened. She then goes to Marianne and tells her of all that has passed. Marianne is distraught by the news and cries all throughout Elanor's recounting of Mrs. Jenning's story and of her knowledge of the affair. Only after Elanor says truly how hurt she was by Lucy's announcement does Marianne believe that her sister truly cared about it. Marianne then laments about how hard it must have been for Elanor to deal with what happened to her and also with what happened to herself. Following this Elanor urges Marianne not to be angry with Edward for his actions, and she does, though very upset with him. The following day, their brother comes to visit and talk through everything that happened at their house too. He explains what happened once Mrs. Ferrars heard the news, and more importantly what happened once Edward arrived… Mrs. Ferrars, Fanny, and John all apparently demanded that Edward end the engagement immediately, and no matter how severe the punishment for keeping it, Edward refuses. John then explains that Mrs. Ferras has vowed to make sure that Edward shall never be able to find a decent job, that he shall only have his 2000 pounds to live off of, and that she will bestow the estate that Edward was to inherit, on his brother, Robert. Mrs. Jennings finds Edwards actions very noble and offers, if the occasion were to arise, to invite Edward to stay with her while he gets onto his feet. John doesn't wish to offend her, so he doesn't say anything, and though Marianne wishes to, she remembers her promise to her sister. SEO stuff I don't want to do. Jane Austin's timeless classic Sense and Sensibility follows the story of two girls, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, and their endeavors in love, marriage, and societal expectations. Love is not easy however, and Elinor finds her sense tested by her charming brother-in-law, while Marianne's sensibility brings her nothing but heartbreak

Simon and Mackelly try to shake the feeling that it is Groundhog day, again.Chapter Review:Lord Commander Jon Snow and Tormund Giantsbane discuss terms for Tormund's band of roughly four thousand free folk to pass through the Wall at Castle Black. After much arguing and threats of violence, Tormund finally agrees. His band won't be happy with the concessions, including forfeiture or any valuables and 100 boys at wards of the Night's Watch. They will meet again in three days to begin the process of transitioning south of the Wall.Jon rides with Val back to Castle Black. She wants to continue helping with the relocation of the free folk. Jon takes her to meet Queen Selyse Baratheon. Selyse is happy Jon secured the deal with the wildlings, but becomes angry when she learns there was no mention of bending the knee or taking R'hllor as their god. Val says if they are made to kneel the free folk will rise, blades in hand.Outside the tower, Val comments on Princess Shireen's greyscale. She calls it grey death and says the girl is already dead. She wants her nephew Little Monster away from the girl. A shocked Jon says he'll try. Val says he'd better succeed. He owes her.Jon meets a group of Night's Watch leaders and two wildling chiefs atop the Wall. Jon explains the situation with the wildlings relocating. The men push back on every detail of Jon's plan. How will we feed them? What about the Weeper? How will you keep them at the Wall? Will you train the wards in combat? Jon's answers are unsatisfactory, and Marsh says Jon is committing treason. Today I talk about Fear in Daggerheart, a metacurrency used by the GM. Some GMs consider metacurrency to be a bad word. So how do the metacurrencies of Hope and Fear work in DH? Are they boons or flaws? Pros or cons? Buffs or debuffs? I'll unpack it in this episode. I show how in my experience Fear hasn't limited my creativity or prevented me from doing things I want to do. I discuss how fear is an excellent pacing tool, especially in combat, and how it really helps the GM dial in the difficulty of combat to exactly where they want it to be. Though at first blush Fear may appear to limit your options as GM, I haven't felt like it does in practice. But it does make me feel like I can be more strategic and tactical, all while experiencing significantly less cognitive load than I'd experience running a similar combat in D&D. Fear also helps the players see that what you're doing is totally fair and earned by their choices and actions. Lady Middleton does not really like the Dashwood girls, but she feels it her duty to host them. Lucy doesn't really want Elanor and Marianne there either, and all Miss Steele wants is to know what happened between Marianne and Willoughby. Mrs. Jennings is over the moon about Charlotte's new child and can talk nothing of the baby. Fanny and Mr John Dashwood are forced to invite their sisters to join them at a music party in town, and though Fanny would much rather not, it would be seen as a social faux pas if they Elanor and Marianne were not present. At the party, the music is fine, but that is about all, and as Marianne is looking across the room, she sees her brother in conversation with the man who she saw in the jewellery store. Her brother and the man soon come over, and the man is introduced to her as Mr. Robert Ferrars… He is just as pompous and opinionated as his sister Fanny. Robert and Elanor discuss Edward, and Robert declares that Edward's problems stem from his mother not choosing to send his brother to a private school. They then discuss Barton cottage, and he declares that he says that everyone should live in a cottage. Elanor agrees to everything he says, but it is more so to end the conversation. Later at the party, John Dashwood, says to his wife that they should invite his sisters to stay with them, it would satisfy the promise he made to his father. Fanny however refutes this, stating that this would be a slight against Mrs. Jennings, and claims that she also wishes to invite the Miss Steeles to stay, and the following day, an invitation is sent off to Lucy and Anne. And after several days, John and Mrs. Dashwood can talk nothing but praises of the girls, causing Elanor to suffer much at the nearly definite loss of Edward. SEO stuff I don't want to do. ROB: I have behavior analysis and this book to thank for my growth as a human being and for helping me to understand how so many of the harms of the modern Republican party--a party I voted consistenly for until 2016--have led us to the cruel, fascistic situations we find ourselves here in American under the Trump administration. Yet despite the recent killings in Minnesota, some portion of U.S. citizens still consider Trump and his jackbooted thugs worth supporting. Hopefully at least all of our listeners are disgusted and outraged at the actions of the President. If not listen to our discussion of Murray Sidman's still timely "Coercion and Its Fallout". I don't think a person with any knowledge of the science of human behavior could read this important work and not be utterly apoplectic at the unethical garbage spewed by the White House and its staff. And, if you're already mad as hell about the state of America, you'll be DOUBLE-MAD!! But have more succinct words as to how things could and should be better.
