The Family emphasizes that true oneness does not come through human agreement, common ideas, organizational leadership, or intellectual understanding. It comes through hearing the voice of the Lord, submitting to His Spirit, and living in the awareness of His presence. The anointing is described as the presence of the Lord living within each believer. Because Christ dwells within every member of the Family, each person has something important to contribute. Ministry is not simply found in the words a person speaks, but in who that person has become through Christ. The Family also emphasizes that the mind and soul can interfere with oneness when they operate independently from the Lord. As believers submit their thoughts, emotions, and desires to Christ, they are able to express the life of Christ within them. The presence of the Father becomes the strength and lifeblood of the Body, enabling every member to take their place and function together in true oneness. Show Notes Independence Works Against Oneness The conversation begins with the clear statement that independence is the enemy of oneness. The Family is not meant to function as separate individuals following their own ideas or understanding. They are called to hear the Lord together and move according to what He is speaking. Hearing the Voice of the Lord True leadership comes through someone hearing and speaking a word from the Lord. The focus is not on human position or authority, but on recognizing the voice of Christ and following His direction. The Anointing Is the Presence of the Lord The anointing is described as the presence of the Lord living within the believer. It is not something that can be fully understood through the human mind. It is experienced as the Spirit of God lives, speaks, and ministers through His people. Every Member Is Important Each member gives their spirit to the oneness of the Family. No person is insignificant or unnecessary. Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, the Body is not complete until every member is in their proper place. Ministry Flows From Who We Are Ministry is not limited to what someone says or does. The effect of who a person has become in Christ ministers life to the rest of the Family. Christ within each believer is the source of that ministry. Submitting the Mind and Soul The mind and soul often try to interfere with what the Lord is doing. As believers submit to His Word, Spirit, and love, they enter into humility and become more aware of His presence. The Father's Presence Is Our Strength The conversation closes with the importance of living in the awareness that the Father is always present. His presence gives an inner strength that allows believers to express Christ instead of reacting from the soul or mind. I have typically read Paul's letter to Rome like it was an essay written for the church at large for all times and for all places.  In fact Paul, Jesus' apostle to the nations, in about 57 A.D., wrote a pastoral letter to several house churches in Rome. He mentions 26 members of the Roman church by name in chapter 16.  He knew a lot about the churches and he was very concerned with simmering divisions within those churches.  The churches were composed of a great diversity of folks, Jews and Gentiles, slave and free, as well as male and female.  A dispute was heating up in the church between a group that Paul called the "Weak," primarily Jewish believers, and a group that Paul called the "Strong," primarily Gentile believers.  Neither group had much use for the other and that was the problem!  He had strong words for both groups. The issues have to do with the place of circumcision, sabbath keeping, and the Jewish food laws in the life of the Churches.  Paul used eleven chapters to give the churches a solid Christ centered foundation on which to live together as "One People of God."  His overriding message was that one church, composed of Jews and Gentiles, living to the Glory of God, is the will of the LORD God.  He declared in chapter 12, "All of us are members one of another."  He followed up this declarative in chapter 15 with the imperative:  "Welcome each other as Christ has welcomed you, for the Glory of God." Tom Wright was recently asked, "What about today's church would most disturb the apostle Paul?" To which he replied. "Our many, many divisions and our LACK OF CONCERN about it." What is this "Name of God" to which we make a call, and invocation? We seek to know our true Self as God Created us to be. Self Identity is our main concern here in Life. This Name unites us in the Oneness of Reality, of our Self, of our Creator. It is beyound our thinking. It is the Emptiness of a non physical Reality. A true contact with the Spirit is held out today for us to realize. We call upon God's Name. What is the Gift, the Benefit from this call? Most people are not in touch with this Higer Reality. We live in a level of awareness that keeps us in a "survival of the body" mode. But this call to our True Identity is a conscious action today.
