The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2021/11/binary-system-podcast-289-wtnv-197-the-life-of-frank-chen/ Well, we had "The Many Lives of Frank Chen", "The Many Many Lives of Frank Chen", and "The Nearly Infinite Lives of Frank Chen". It makes sense that the saga of Night Vale's most famous dearly-departed would wrap up with "The Life of Frank Chen." It's a quiet, weirdly heartwarming story that's very satisfying (other than the fact that we still don't know what's going on with Hiram McDaniels). After the recap we discuss the latest two episodes of Lore Olympus (I hope the characters are all cozy under that BUS everyone keeps throwing each other under), and take an odd tangent into a medical drama series from the 1980's and wonder if we're just imagining that streaming services are chopping bits out of our favorite old TV shows FOR NO REASON. The outro music this week is a clip from Monster Stomp by TeknoAXE. Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for person? Want to buy them (or yourself) a square foot of a castle in Scotland? Original broadcast date November 17, 2016. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2016/11/binary-system-podcast-59-wtnv-98-flight/ We just listened to the latest Welcome To Night Vale episode and holy cow. Holy COW. Okay everybody, let's put spoiler warning on right up front. This is the episode when Hiram McDaniels is scheduled for execution, and things happen in this one. There's an awful lot that won't ever be the same, and there's going to be consequences, that's for damn sure. Short episode this week as the twins reel from the latest developments in Night Vale. And just in case everyone hasn't had enough negativity over the last month, we're also gearing up for our inaugural Crap Fest episode next week.
Original broadcast date May 5, 2016. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2016/05/binary-system-podcast-35-wtnv-87-the-trial-of-hiram-mcdaniels/ The long awaited trial of Hiram McDaniels has finally arrived. Aaaand now it's done. That was fast. We didn't get to see much of the trial (Mayor Cardinal took the charge to "Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" a little too seriously, and they had to clear the courtroom), but the results were exactly what we WEREN'T expecting. Justice in Night Vale isn't for wimps. Or anybody, really. And weirdly, on the eve of Marvel's Captain America: Civil War we somehow ended up giving a little love to DC and the handful of shows and animations that they've done well. This was after we made snarky comments about Batman v Superman and Convergence, but the love got in there eventually. Original broadcast date March 19, 2015. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2015/03/night-vale-recap-episode-64-we-must-give-praise/ This week on Welcome To Night Vale we get an update from the president of the School Board (ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD) and the Sheriff's Secret Police warn us about a couple dangerous fugitives (and in doing so give us the best description of Hiram McDaniels ever. Join the twins as they recap Welcome to Night Vale episode 64 "WE MUST GIVE PRAISE." (Sorry about the occasional clicking in the background, Elizabeth's mic is dying, we tried to fix it in post and ended up...making it more noticeable? In related news, never ever ever buy a Samson portable mic. They are crap.) Kathryn found three great pieces of fan art of our favorite 5-headed dragon. The first is by Littletde on deviantart, you can find it here. The second is by Expression on deviantart, and you can find that one here. And the third, despite the fact that we now know the main head is gold (...sorry, sable) is our favorite. It's by asutori on tumblr, and you can find it here. Welcome to Night Vale's main website is here.
