This week's episode features an audio play of Lady Warrior, a one woman show written by Mollie Amburgey & starring actress Cara Barresi Chandler. This one act premiered at The Aphra Behn Emerging Artists Festival in 2018 with Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble. Sukanya Mani earned a degree in chemistry in her native India before resettling in St. Louis 21 years ago. She puts her fascination with the sciences to work in her art, cutting and shaping paper into sculptures that reflect scientific concepts. Her new pieces are being shown at the Kranzberg Arts Center through the end of the year.

St. Louis native John McDaniel is a Grammy and Emmy award-winning musician. For years he performed as the band leader of The Rosie O’Donnell Show. Londoner Barb Jungr is known for her pop music, theater and cabaret performances. McDaniel and Jungr will perform together at Kranzberg Arts Center later this month. On Tuesday’s St. Louis on the Air , host Don Marsh talked with McDaniel and Jungr about their upcoming performance “Come Together,” which features music by the Beatles. Growing up not too far from Liverpool, the birthplace of the iconic band, Jungr had always avoided listening to their music until McDaniel arranged their song, “In My Life,” for her to perform. She loved the arrangement and the two decided to feature their take on the group’s music for their next album. The musical duo will give the familiar sound of the Beatles something new. Deborah Sharn talks with actress/director Linda Kennedy who is directing Upstream Theater’s first show of their 12th season, SUSPENDED in St. Louis. This is the world premiere of SUSPENDED written by Israeli playwright Maya Arad Yasur. This tightly paced drama shows two refugees washing windows of a skyscraper in a western city, suspended between a world they can see but cannot join, between a past scarred by violence and an uncertain future. SUSPENDED opens in St. Louis October 7th and runs through October 23rd at the Kranzberg Arts Center.
