This week on Steady Droppin' Dimes, Sam Webb and Daniel Horton discuss the proposed two-game suspension for Michigan assistant coach Sherrone Moore due to deleted text messages during an NCAA investigation into Connor Stallions. Webb clarified that the suspension is not final and is part of a self-imposed punishment process. But the episode begins with and interview with Erika Morgan, mother of Michigan wideout Semaj Morgan, and Jillian Blackwell, mother of Wisconsin combo guard John Blackwell, about their new podcast, “Mom's in the Huddle with Jillian and Erika.” It focuses on parental support for student-athletes in the age of NIL. The conversation also touched on the impact of NIL on college sports, and specifically the long-term outlook for the smaller programs currently being ravaged for talent. Additionally, Webb highlighted the Ann Arbor Sports Commission's initiative to allow kids 13 and under to participate in all Epic Races events in the Ann Arbor area for free this year. The episode concludes with a chat with the president and CEO Golden Limousine Sean Duval about the deep-rooted relationship between his company and the University of Michigan, including his ongoing support of athletes through NIL, and extending beyond athletics with his various partnerships with Michigan medicine. Does the goat-offering atone for 3 different kinds of impurities? The verse indicates it won't atone for all kinds of impurities, only some of them. But what kind of impurities does it atone for? Perhaps for an idolater - but it's too egregious of a transgression. Perhaps for a woman after childbirth -- but what is her sin for which she brings a sin-offering? Perhaps she has (falsely) sworn off relations with her husband in the throes of labor (but it's a machloket). So the Gemara comes around to talking again about the impurity that is brought into the Temple or with regard to its sanctified foods -- inadvertently, to be sure. But how does this atonement relate to the atonement provided by the day of Yom Kippur? What if a person doesn't have time to bring the atoning offering before Yom Kippur?

Chris Eckfeldt: "GOD SUSPENDED ME" | The Hopeaholics PodcastChris Eckfeldt's unforgettable journey through darkness to hope will grip your soul. In 2023, a catastrophic mountain biking accident in San Clemente shattered Chris's spine, robbing him of his legs and thrusting him into a world of unrelenting physical and emotional turmoil. Once an avid rider tearing down trails with the MTB Maniacs, he faced the stark reality of paralysis, his life forever altered in a single, harrowing moment. The protective “bubble” of rehab in Denver offered a temporary sanctuary, where logistics were managed and hope flickered. But returning home to the same streets and faces that once defined his vibrant life was a crushing awakening—every task, from bathroom access to car travel, became a labyrinth of adaptation. Job loss struck like a sledgehammer, stripping away his sense of purpose, while wrong medications, particularly Cymbalta, spiraled him into a vortex of anxiety and despair, fueling two suicide attempts that nearly ended his story. Yet, in the depths of that darkness, Chris found a lifeline. Through relentless self-advocacy, he secured the right medication—low-dose Wellbutrin—restoring clarity and stability. Bolstered by his wife Domini's unwavering support, who stood firm through fear and heartache, and a renewed faith that saw divine purpose in his survival, Chris began to rebuild. He discovered that his pain could light the way for others, not through grand gestures but through the raw, honest sharing of his journey.#TheHopeaholics #redemption #recovery #AlcoholAddiction #AddictionRecovery #wedorecover #SobrietyJourney #MyStory #RecoveryIsPossible #Hope #wedorecover Join our patreon to get access to an EXTRA EPISODE every week of ‘Off the Record', exclusive content, a thriving recovery community, and opportunities to be featured on the podcast. https://patreon.com/TheHopeaholics Follow the Hopeaholics on our Socials:https://www.instagram.com/thehopeaholics https://linktr.ee/thehopeaholicsBuy Merch: https://thehopeaholics.myshopify.comVisit our Treatment Centers: https://www.hopebythesea.comIf you or a loved one needs help, please call or text 949-615-8588. The Nats were dealt a curve ball Thursday morning when they learned shortly before the matinee that Davey Martinez was immediately suspended for one game as a result of Jorge Lopez throwing inside on Andrew McCutchen on Wednesday night (Lopez appealed his three game suspension). Mark (Live from Pittsburgh) & Al discuss how curious of a decision MLB made in opting to suspend Davey. All of this began with Paul DeJong getting hit in the face on Tuesday night, which resulted in him landing on the IL with a fractured nose. (14:00) The offense was quite anemic in 1-0 loss on Thursday afternoon. Nathaniel Lowe was the only member of the lineup to have multiple hits. Washington only scored four total runs in the final three game of this series in Pittsburgh. (17:30) Trevor Williams' best outing of the season was wasted as he only allowed one run in his five innings of work. The bullpen for only the 3rd time this season was not charged with a run. Lucas Sims had an encouraging appearance as he tossed a scoreless bottom of the 6th. (23:40) The final leg of the road trip moves to Colorado for a three game series. The weather forecast calls for potentially three inches of snow in Denver on Friday, so a doubleheader this weekend is possible. (26:00) Terry Byrom, Voice of the Harrisburg Senators, provides an update on the Nats AA affiliate. Hear the latest on prospects such as Daylen Lile, Yohandy Morales, and Jarlin Susana.
