We’ve got the vibes yo! This Mixtape Assembly features Mighty Moe of the legendary Heartless Crew - surely the most influential group to come out of the UK Garage movement. In his Mixtape Assembly, Moe remembers how the whole thing started, with X amount of Heartless anecdotes, including a shaky start to life on Mission FM, Fonti’s days as a bossman barber, and waking up Bushkin’s nan in the middle of the night to chase off a rogue Jamaican possum. On a more personal level, Moe reflects on the influences of his Middle Eastern parents and also pays tribute to the inspiration he drew from his late uncle Mark. Looking to the future, Moe talks about emceeing around the house with his daughter Ruby, whose bound to have a wicked flow - it’s absolutely good you know! TRACKLIST: 1. Fairuz: Habbaytak Bissayf 2. Rosie Gaines: Closer Than Close 3. Fat Freddy’s Drop: Cays Crays (Digital Mystikz remix) 4. DJ Taktix: The Way (The VIP mix) 5. Brenda Russell: The Thick Of It 6. Nat King Cole: Nature Boy 7. Ennio Morricone: My Name Is Nobody 8. Atmosfear: Dancing In Outer Space 9. Musical Youth: Pass The Dutchie Catch all these tunes on the Spotify playlist here >> https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6VVcDxE0Lc1gNlNNJ4nZLX?si=mD9VTTafRPCRgfPA2OQHag
*This episode was originally published on Mon Aug 20 2018*Welcome back to another episode of For The Creators, where it’s our job to demystify creativity. In these long form conversations, we tease out tips and tricks from all kinds of creatives whether they’re Musicians, Presenters, Actors, Directors, DJs, Writers, Entrepreneurs and everything in between. In this episode I sit down with MC Buskin, one third of the UK Garage group the Heartless Crew. As pioneers of UK Garage, Heartless Crew played a fundamental role in the rise of the genre and they continue to be respected globally for their contributions to the UK music scene. I have been a fan of the Heartless Crew since I was in secondary school and listening to them on Mission FM, but I had never really heard their story. So, I was really interested in finding out more about how it all started and how they were able to have a major influence on a genre of music, at such a young age.I took Bushkin on a trip down memory lane and got an insight into his childhood, his musical influences, the formation of the Heartless Crew, the rise of the Crew and why they eventually decided to go their separate ways in 2011. This was definitely a nostalgic interview for me, but I am extremely proud that I got the chance to do it. I learned so much about Bushkin, the other members of the crew and the music scene in the 90s and 2000s during our conversation, and I genuinely hope that you do to.So, without further ado, please enjoy my sit-down with, MC Bushkin from the Heartless Crew.
