In today's episode, Heather guides us through Matthew chapters 14-16, exploring powerful moments from Jesus' ministry—feeding the 5,000, walking on water, and challenging traditions with compassion and truth. Along the way, Heather reflects on what it means to follow Jesus through life's storms, reminding us that faith often grows in the midst of hardship and awe. With heartfelt prayers and encouragement, she invites us to rely on God's presence, embrace the journey of faith, and remember that, even in difficult times, we are deeply loved. Settle in for Scripture, reflection, and encouragement for your spiritual walk, right here on the Daily Radio Bible. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Jesus teaches us through the storms. Watching the storms roll in on the Oregon coast can be mesmerizing. But there's a lesson that goes deeper when you're in the middle of the storm yourself. That's just how Jesus teaches—sometimes he places us right in the thick of it, not as punishment, but for our growth. In today's passage, we see that after the miracle of feeding the multitudes, Jesus insisted his disciples get in the boat and cross the lake. It was his idea. Why did he insist? Maybe because they wanted to stay wrapped up in the excitement of the miracle, or perhaps, as fishermen, they sensed a storm coming and wanted to avoid it. We don't know for sure, but what we do know is that Jesus was adamant, and they obeyed. Their obedience didn't buy them smooth sailing—instead, they found themselves far from land, battling heavy waves. This reminds us: just because we're obedient doesn't mean we won't be tested, and it doesn't guarantee calm seas. Sometimes Jesus directs us straight into the storm, knowing what awaits us. The truth is, storms will come, even in the center of God's will. But when we are in those storms, Jesus cares. He knows our burdens and our fears, and he is praying for us. Jesus was teaching his disciples to rely fully on him—removing every comfort and prop so that faith would truly grow. He brought them into open water, into trouble, to teach them to walk by faith, not sight. Faith is a process, not an event. Our strength may fail, but Jesus never will. In the storm, he speaks to us: "Don't be afraid. Take courage. I am here." Awe at the presence of God is the beginning of faith. Peter experienced this awe and, for a moment, stepped out onto the water—not on his own power, but fully dependent on Jesus. If you're surrounded by wind and waves today, listen for the voice that calls you forth: step out, take courage, and let awe lead you to faith. Let this be our prayer: that we might learn in our storms to trust the abiding presence and love of Christ, and have the courage to respond in faith—one step at a time. May we move from fear to faith, knowing he is with us in every season. That's a prayer for my own soul, and a prayer for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Hunter invites us into day 326 of our journey through the Bible, focusing on Matthew chapters 11 through 14. Together, we'll witness Jesus as he teaches, heals, and challenges the status quo—from answering John the Baptist's questions to performing miracles that inspire awe and raise controversy. As Hunter guides us through the stories of faith, doubt, and divine compassion, we'll reflect on moments when Jesus walks unexpectedly into the storms of life and calls us to courage. There are prayers for wisdom, comfort in hard times, and encouragement to lean into God's joy—reminding each of us that we are loved and seen. Whether you're facing headwinds in your own journey, seeking wisdom, or simply longing for the reassurance of God's presence, this episode is an invitation to put down your oars and listen for Christ's voice in every season. Let's gather around the Scriptures and let them shape our hearts, together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Jesus comes to us in the storm. Sometimes, the presence of God can seem almost terrifying—especially when it shows up in places or moments we least expect. The disciples learned this firsthand when Jesus came to them walking on the water in the midst of a storm. They were afraid, worn out from straining against the wind, doing all they knew to do: rowing with their own strength, growing exhausted and maybe even hopeless at the challenge before them. We, too, often find ourselves in the same boat—facing the winds that come against our families, marriages, children, our lives. We dig deep, try harder, and in spite of it all, sometimes feel like we're getting nowhere. The normal response is to keep pushing and striving. But what if, like the disciples, we miss the presence of Jesus in the middle of our trouble, dismissing him as something "unreal," just a ghost amidst our exhaustion? But Jesus steps into that place of fear and futility and speaks, "Don't be afraid. Take courage. I am here." The invitation is to lay down our oars and trust him, to let him meet us where we are, to believe that his presence makes the impossible possible. When we respond, as Peter did, we can experience something different than we've ever known—we can walk on water, move through storms, see a new way forward. Let's open our eyes to see him coming to us, even in the middle of nowhere, even when life feels overwhelming. Let's put down our striving and hear his voice. He's inviting us to courage, not fear; to rest, not more rowing; to faith, not despair. That's the prayer I have for my own soul—that in the middle of my storms, I would recognize the Lord who comes for me. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife and children. And it's the prayer I have for you, dear ones: May you see him in your storm, hear his invitation, and find rest in his abiding love. Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today's episode, Hunter invites listeners to reflect on the transformative message of the Sermon on the Mount, as found in Matthew chapters 5 through 7. Together, we explore Jesus' words about being "poor in spirit," seeking God in our need, and living a life rooted in love, forgiveness, and mercy. Hunter guides us through the Scriptures, encourages us to pray, and reminds us of our deep dependence on God. Whether you're carrying burdens or simply seeking to know God more, this episode offers space to encounter the living Word and the riches found in Him. Tune in and let God's love and wisdom renew your heart today! TODAY'S DEVOTION: Jesus just gave us his most well-known sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. I'm reluctant to offer commentary and more inclined to let it speak for itself. However, let me just leave you with this first word he offers us in the sermon: God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him. Everything else he elaborates on stems from this. Life begins when we realize how poor we are and how desperately in need we are of Him. That's when the Gospel can break through. We can begin to see him—and not just ourselves and our circumstances. Blessed are the poor, those who realize their deep need for God. That's why we come to the Word each day, to recognize the riches that we have in him and our absolute poverty apart from Him. And when we come to the living Word—to Jesus—we see that God is a Father and that he has invited us to know him and experience him as a child. Children have nothing on their own. They are utterly dependent upon their parents. It's there that we recognize the beautiful invitation to live in Him. He's made a way for us, friends. A way for the with-God life. There's a way for all the poor—all of humanity—to come and live in Him. Let the good news of the Kingdom of God wash over you today and every day. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He came to you because you couldn't come to him. As Hunter and Heather reflected, the message of the law and the prophets teaches us that we need to come to God. John the Baptist shouts it from the wilderness—come to God, confess, and be baptized. But in this story, something unexpected happens: God comes to us. Jesus comes, asking to be baptized by human hands. It's a turning point. John asks, "Why are you coming to me?"—because he knows we are the ones who need to go to God. But the gospel tells us a deeper truth: try as we might, we falter. We know God is worthy of all our allegiance and devotion, yet we fail. The Law reminds us of this vast distance, but Jesus crosses it for us. He comes because we are truly incapable of making the journey to him on our own. That is the good news. God loves us so much that he has come to us, doing for us what we could never do for ourselves. God has not waited for us to show our love for him before he showed his love for us. The news is better than we can imagine—God's love is already here, preceding every striving and every attempt to reach him. Today, let the answer of Jesus to John ring in your heart. He made up the distance for you, because you couldn't. He did this out of love—for you, for the whole world. Let that truth transform your mind and fill you with joy. That is a prayer for my own soul, for my family, and for you: may it be so.

TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today's episode for November 18th, Hunter invites us into a time of reflection, prayer, and encouragement as we journey through Psalm 124 and 2 Corinthians 11–13. As we gather with listeners around the world, we're reminded of God's faithfulness in the midst of every trial. Hunter leads us through the powerful words of Paul, who challenges us to discover real strength, not in boasting or outward achievements, but in the places where we feel weakest and most in need. The episode explores how God's grace meets us in those vulnerable moments and how—just as Paul experienced—God's power often shines brightest through our shortcomings. We'll warm ourselves by the fires of God's love, lift prayers for our own lives and for the world, and receive encouragement to carry God's joy and peace into the day. Whether you're listening with your favorite coffee mug or simply joining as you are, know that you're loved and welcome here. So, settle in and let's continue this journey together—nourishing our souls in scripture and discovering anew that God's strength truly is made perfect in our weakness. TODAY'S DEVOTION: God delights to show himself strong through weakness. Paul was being called out for his weakness. There were some who apparently faulted him for not being the most dynamic, flamboyant speaker. "Super apostles" had come to town and were adding to the confusion of this church, preaching another gospel that was not the gospel at all. But here, Paul takes the opportunity to teach us something vital about real power, real strength, real authority. In God's kingdom, these are not revealed through flashy presentations or impressive outward displays. Instead, God's strength is most clearly seen in our weakness. Paul accomplished so much—traversing much of the known world, planting churches, speaking before kings and governors, writing letters, discipling people who would disciple generations to come. Yet, when he lists his accomplishments, Paul points not to his triumphs, but to times of trial, peril, persecution, poverty, and personal struggle. Why? Because these moments of struggle and weakness were the places where the power of Christ showed up most clearly in his life. We, too, experience this. When things are falling apart, when we're broken down, when we don't know what to do, these are the times when we find God's strength to be most real and present. The greatest displays of strength are not found in confident boasts from a platform, but in humble dependence when we most know our need. So don't miss this gift—amid all the noise, teachings, and impressive personalities around us, remember: God's grace is all we need. His power is made perfect in our weakness. Like Paul, may we learn to boast not in our strength, but in our need, trusting that it is there the power of Christ will rest upon us. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today's episode for Friday, November 17th—day 321 of our journey through the Bible—Hunter invites us into a time of reflection, encouragement, and prayer rooted in Second Corinthians chapters 7 through 10. Together, we explore the themes of generosity, spiritual strength, and the source of true Christian living found in Christ. Hunter reminds us of the promises we have in Jesus, guiding us to cleanse our hearts, embrace holiness, and rely on God's power for a life that is both generous and resilient. Through thoughtful prayer and insightful commentary, we learn that we have all the riches and strength we need in Christ, empowering us to serve, give, endure, and heal. Prepare to enter a new day with God's word spoken over you, uplifting prayers for yourself and the world, and encouragement to walk in truth, peace, and hope—trusting in the deep love God has for you. Let's continue this journey together, discovering joy and strength in every step. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Do you want to live a life that is generous and strong? Can you afford to live a generous Christian life? Do you have strength to defend yourself against spiritual attack—or, forget about spiritual attack, just plain old discouragement, depression, or self-loathing? We all need strength to overcome these things, whether spiritual or otherwise. Paul reminds us in the previous chapters where our riches for generous living and the strength for our struggles come from. They come from the One who alone is rich enough and strong enough. They come from Christ. Christ in you. So, do you want to live a life that is generous and strong? Then Christ will be the source of your strength and the source of your riches—your heart partnering with him to serve, to give, to endure, and to be healed. Yesterday's reading sets this up for us: it says that God's power is working in us. And now, in today's passage, 2 Corinthians 7:1, we read, "Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. Let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God." So, what's the promise? It's the promise of Christ's presence in you. What are the earmarks of holy living? Generosity and strength. Because Christ lives in you, you are able to cleanse yourself from everything that defiles your body and spirit. Now, you have the strength and generosity to move forward and to experience real change. Because you fear God, because Christ lives in you, you have what you need. Can you afford a generous life? It depends on how rich you are. Do you have the strength you need to move forward? Well, that depends on how strong you are. How rich are you? How strong are you? If Christ is in you, then you have all the riches you need and then some. If Christ is in you, then you have all the strength you need and then some. And I'm here to tell you, Christ is in you. As John said, "The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." So because we have these promises, we can live the Christian life. Let's be awakened today by the presence of God in you, your true life which is hidden in Him. You have been fully embraced in Christ just as you are in Him. You are a new creation, and because of Him, you can be wise and generous—strong. And the prayer of my own heart today is that we will all begin to see this just a little bit more today than we did yesterday. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family—for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Most actors are lucky to be part of a single major film franchise over the course of their career. However, in just five years, Katy O'Brian scored roles in three of the biggest franchises of all time — Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Mission: Impossible. Yet another jaw-dropping and very well earned acting feat? Just a few months after Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning hit theaters, O'Brian had not one, not two, not three, but four major releases debut — Queens of the Dead, Christy, Maintenance Required, and now Edgar Wright's adaptation of Stephen King's The Running Man.O'Brian plays Jenni Laughlin in the film, one of three people selected to participate in The Network's most popular and most dangerous game show, The Running Man. The risk is high, but so is the reward. If Laughlin, Glen Powell's Ben Richards, or Martin Herlihy's Jansky manage to evade McCone (Lee Pace) and The Hunters for 30 days, they win a whopping billion New Dollar reward. The odds of that happening? Mighty slim given no one's ever won The Running Man, but producer Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) ensures their pursuit of that jackpot has sky-high entertainment value every single step of the way, even if it means putting the contestants' lives at greater risk or manipulating his audience. With The Running Man now playing in theaters nationwide, O'Brian returns to Collider Ladies Night after first making an appearance on the “Pre-Party” edition of the show for the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and then being part of the first-ever live Ladies Night at San Diego Comic Con in celebration of Twisters. This time around, not only does O'Brian break down her experience playing “chaos personified” in The Running Man, but she also looks back on the last five years and reveals which projects opened new doors, and which ones didn't boost her star in this industry as much as you might expect. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today's episode, Heather invites us into a time of Scripture reading, reflection, and prayer on this 16th day of November. We journey through Second Corinthians, chapters 3 to 6, exploring profound themes of transformation, reconciliation, and the call to come home to God. Heather draws beautiful parallels between nature—like the instinctive return of salmon and migrating birds—and our own spiritual longing to return to our Creator. With warmth and sincerity, she reminds us that God has placed a homing device in all of us, drawing us back to himself, and that we're entrusted with the message of reconciliation—inviting others home as well. Alongside heartfelt readings and honest reflections, Heather leads us in prayers of gratitude, guidance, and intercession, affirming the truth that we are loved, restored, and sent out to extend that love to the world. Whether you're joining from Oregon, or anywhere else in the world, this episode is an invitation to fix your eyes on Jesus, experience His transforming love, and remember—you are not alone, and you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: God is calling us back home. All of creation seems to understand this ache, this homing pull. On the Oregon coast, salmon and migratory birds instinctively know to return to the place where their journey began, even though they can't explain it. It's as if they're responding to a deep inner voice—come back, come home. Within each person there is a spiritual homing device, meant to lead us to our true home in God. The ache for home was damaged through Adam, but in Christ it has been mended. We are no longer lost; God has reconciled us to Himself and made a way for every man, woman, and child to return to the origin of their design. As Heather shared from 2 Corinthians, God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. Now we have the great privilege and calling to share this ministry of reconciliation, to invite others toward home. Responding to God's call is like the salmon's journey. When they leave the salt water for fresh, transformation begins—they are being prepared by nature for the final leg of their journey. In the same way, the Spirit transforms us as we turn toward God, as we say yes to the call to come home. That new life takes root as we walk this way—a life that is a gift, a life reconciled, restored, forgiven. Heather reminds us: the ache is real, and so is home. God does not leave us broken and wandering, but comes to mend us, to give us direction, to make us whole. Now, through His Spirit and love, we are equipped and commissioned to encourage others to hear that same invitation—come home to God. As we journey toward Him, transformation bears fruit in our hearts; new life is born. Let us remember the call and extend it to those around us. Let our lives and our words speak of this amazing reconciliation, of God's relentless love and mercy. May the Spirit unscramble our hearts, guide us, and give us strength for the path. That is my prayer today—for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May we hear the voice and step boldly toward our true home in God. May we invite others and find joy in the journey together.

"A Trap That Was Not"Mark 10:1-12Having recently completed our series “None Like Jesus” let's continue to “Behold Him” by embarking on a new study through the Gospel of Mark. Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels and it is action-packed from start to finish – as evidenced by the word “immediately” used over 40 times. Mark wrote to believers, probably Roman believers, who were no strangers to persecution. And he wanted to disciple his readers to be strong in their faith by encouraging them to look to their Mighty Messiah, the Son of God, who remained steadfastly faithful even while becoming their Suffering Servant who died for them. Mark's Gospel is a call to all believers to fearlessly “Follow Jesus” because they can trust Him completely.

In this November 15th, 2025 episode, your host Hunter invites us into day 320 of our Scripture journey, guiding us through the closing chapters of Job and the beginning of Second Corinthians. We'll witness Job's remarkable transformation from grief to restoration, his humility before God, and the generous blessings that follow as he prays for his friends. Then, in Paul's heartfelt letter to the Corinthians, we explore themes of divine comfort, forgiveness, and the call to embody grace for others. Along the way, Hunter reflects on where we turn in times of need and encourages us to become sources of comfort and forgiveness in our own lives. The episode closes with a thoughtful time of prayer and a reminder: we are deeply loved and called to share that love with the world. So whether you're tired, seeking comfort, or simply looking for a fresh word of encouragement, join us for a rich, hope-filled encounter with Scripture and prayer. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Where do you go when you need forgiveness? Where do you turn when guilt and shame threaten to overwhelm your heart? It's an important question, and Hunter draws our attention to it today. Not only do we need a place for comfort and forgiveness, but so do the people in our lives. Are we known—are you known—as someone who offers grace, kindness, a listening ear when someone has stumbled or is hurting? The invitation in today's scriptures is clear: where you go for comfort and forgiveness will help determine where those around you go when they're in need. If you turn to your gracious Father, receive comfort from the Spirit, and drink deeply of forgiveness from Christ, then others—those who may be carrying heavy burdens of sorrow or failure—will know they can come to you. When your life is rooted in grace, it becomes a place of sanctuary for those seeking mercy. Hunter urges us: go to the cross, go to Christ, go to your loving Savior. He forgives freely and does not treat us as our sins deserve. As the psalm says, "He does not repay us according to our iniquities." If you're daily receiving grace and mercy, you'll become someone others trust to receive it from too. Paul asks, "Who is adequate for such a task as this?"—the task of comforting, restoring, forgiving. There's only one who is truly able: Christ alone. Yet Jesus invites us to participate with Him in sharing His comfort and grace. When we go to Him, we're empowered to offer the real comfort and real forgiveness the world aches for. That's a prayer Hunter has for his own soul, for his family, and for all of us. May we become people who are known as vessels of Christ's comfort and forgiveness—not just for our sake but for the sake of a world in need. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today's episode, Hunter guides us through a meaningful journey in scripture on this 14th day of November. Together, we reflect on Psalm 149 and Paul's powerful words in 1 Corinthians 15 and 16, exploring the heart of the gospel—Christ's death and resurrection, and what it means for our lives today. Hunter invites us to consider not just the events of Christ's resurrection, but our inclusion in His resurrection life, encouraging us to wake up to our new identity in Him. We're reminded that faith in the resurrection is more than agreeing with history—it's becoming part of God's family, loved, forgiven, and made new. The episode closes with prayers for peace, unity, and transformation, and an invitation to continue in an attitude of prayer throughout our day. So, whether you're joining us for the first time or have been on this year-long journey through the Bible, settle in and let's discover together what God has done—and who we have become—in Christ. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Our profession is a declaration of inclusion. Paul is passing on to us something of utmost priority. He says, "I pass on to you what was most important and what has also been passed on to me. Christ died for your sins, just as the Scriptures say. He was buried and he was raised from the dead on the third day." What's this all-important message that Paul has for us? Paul urges us to stand firm in the reality that Christ died for our sins and was raised—just as the Scriptures say. But the heart of Paul's message about the resurrection isn't simply a matter of agreeing with a historic fact. It isn't merely checking a box, or parroting words we know we're supposed to say as Christians. What Paul wants us to grasp is that our declaration that "Christ is risen" is also a declaration of our inclusion in his resurrection life. Our profession is not just about what God has done but about what we have become: we are woven into Christ's death and his glorious resurrection. To say, "I believe in the resurrection," is to say that you are united with Christ and made new in him. It means waking up to the true reality of who you are—beloved by God, forgiven, made new, a child belonging forever to his family. When you begin to see what God has done, you start to see yourself differently—and others, too. The work of Christ transforms not only our identity but also our sight. We're called to set our hearts on things above, to know that we've been raised with Christ, seated with him in heavenly places. Let's embrace this resurrection reality—not just as something to agree with but to live and embody. Let it permeate your relationships, how you see others, and how you walk through each day. See it. Believe it. Dare to live in the newness of life that is yours in Christ. That's my prayer for my own soul. That's a prayer for my family, for my wife, for my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer I have for you.
