After three months, Paul and his companions sailed from Malta and eventually landed at Puteoli, where they continued their journey to Rome. Along the way, Paul sought out and was sought by other believers, and they encouraged one another. Once in Rome he was chained to a guard, but didn't let that stop him from preaching the gospel to anyone and everyone. He even sent for Jews from each of the local synagogues to preach to them. Some received him; others did not. For two years he stayed in his own house and was allowed to freely preach the gospel without harassment and persecution, something he had never experienced. Rory noted that this is the end of the written book of Acts, but it really continues on to this day. We are a part of it and as Paul, need to be boldly and fearlessly preaching the gospel, whether in far off lands or in Prineville.
The mission of Acts comes to a completion at the end of the book… or does it? The Holy Spirit has succeeded in bringing witnesses of Jesus to the ends of the known world. Luke doesn’t see this as an end, however, because the churches who will read Luke’s account must take up the mantle of the mission to be witnesses until the return of the resurrected king.

In this final message from our study through Acts, we are told of their final journey into Rome after the horrific storm and shipwreck, causing them to winter at Malta. There in Rome Paul is under house arrest with some freedom, and spends time with the believers there as well as talking to the Jewish contingent in Rome, witnessing to them. Listen in as Pastor Steve closes out this last message from the book of Acts!

Here at the end of the book of Acts Luke records for us the final steps in Paul's long journey to Rome. After taking all of three days off, Paul gets back to work ministering to the local Jews as well as anyone else that stopped in to visit Him. As we sit back and apply this passage we find some profound truths that will help us as we face the uncertainty of life.
