LIVE from Transform 2025! Adria Ferrier is the founder of Elayne, an AI copilot for financial and estate management. Elayne's mission is to modernize estate planning and affairs settlements, making it more accessible, efficient, and integrated into daily life. She launched Elayne after experiencing firsthand the disjointed, frustrating challenges families face after loss, along with its impact on careers. After her mom passed away, she spent months navigating banks, insurance companies, lawyers, taxes, and doing countless administrative tasks—like canceling her mom's subscriptions and deactivating her social media—each with its own complex, manual process. The burden, on top of the impact of losing her mother, took a toll on her performance at work. Ultimately, she resigned, a decision made by nearly 50% of employees within a year of a major loss. Adria started her career in corporate M&A before transitioning to private equity at Blackstone in NYC. She later earned her MBA from Wharton and joined Permira's healthcare investing team, deploying billions in capital throughout her career. In her early 20s, she helped launch a patient advocacy group for EGFR-positive lung cancer with her mom, directing hundreds of thousands toward EGFR-related research projects. Adria grew up between Debrecen, Hungary, and Providence, RI. She has lived in nine countries and speaks four languages. We dig into: - What key flaws in estate management inspired you to launch Elayne, and how does AI solve them? - How can companies better support employees navigating loss, so they don't feel forced to resign? - From private equity to entrepreneurship, what's been the biggest mindset shift in building Elayne? - The passion and story behind her company and so much more! Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love

n this episode of The Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse and Tony delve into Colossians 3:16–17, exploring the essential role of singing in Christian worship. They discuss how singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is both a command and a spiritual discipline for believers, emphasizing its importance in teaching gospel truths and fostering mutual edification within the body of Christ. Singing is not merely an individual act of worship but a communal practice that unites the church in shared faith and gratitude. The hosts reflect on the transformative power of music in worship, emphasizing its role in shaping Christian character and relationships. They explore how singing serves as a means of mutual instruction, allowing believers to proclaim gospel truths to one another while glorifying God. Jesse and Tony also highlight the need for congregants, particularly men, to actively participate in worship through singing, modeling obedience and devotion for their families and fellow believers. Additionally, the conversation touches on how the act of singing transcends generational and cultural boundaries, bringing together believers of all ages and backgrounds. The hosts underscore the unique power of music to unite the church, deepen spiritual formation, and prepare hearts for eternal worship around the throne of God. Key Points: The Command to Sing Singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is a biblical command for all believers, rooted in passages like Colossians 3:16–17 and Ephesians 5. This act of worship is not optional but central to the Christian life. Singing as Mutual Instruction Worship through singing serves as a means of teaching and admonishing one another in gospel truths. It is a communal act that fosters spiritual growth and unity among believers. The Role of Men in Worship Jesse and Tony discuss the importance of men leading by example in worship, particularly through singing, to encourage their families and the congregation to participate wholeheartedly. Music's Power to Unite and Transform Singing in worship transcends individual preferences and abilities, uniting believers of all ages and backgrounds in a shared expression of faith and gratitude to God. Practical Encouragement for Worship Participation The hosts encourage listeners to prioritize singing in both corporate worship and family settings, reminding them that even imperfect voices glorify God and edify the church. Questions for Reflection: How does your personal approach to singing in worship align with the biblical command to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs? In what ways can congregational singing foster unity and mutual edification in your church? How can you encourage those around you, especially within your family, to participate in worship through singing? What steps can you take to incorporate doctrinally sound music into your daily life and family worship?

We have all heard the stories of former pastors or church worship leaders who have walked away or “deconstructed” their faith. Chip addresses the heart of this alarming trend through an insightful conversation with pastor and author John Dickerson. Together, they will delve into the complexities of faith, doubt, and the challenges that believers face today.Main Points The Deconstruction Trend: Many young people, even from strong Christian backgrounds, are questioning their beliefs. This trend is occurring at increasingly younger ages. Creating a Safe Space: Parents and leaders must provide a non-judgmental environment for open dialogue. Listening and asking questions are vital to understanding the root causes of doubt. Empathy and understanding are more effective than immediate answers. Addressing Intellectual and Emotional Issues: Both intellectual and emotional challenges need to be addressed. Providing historical and philosophical context is essential. Acknowledging the negative aspects of Christian history while highlighting the positive impact of Christianity. The Importance of Relationships: Strong, supportive relationships are crucial for maintaining faith. Young people need close friends who share their values. Building relationships with those outside the Christian community is important. Practical Strategies: Encourage open conversations and probing questions. Pray for God to bring supportive relationships. Model authentic faith. Address hypocracy in the church. Be willing to apologize for personal failures in modeling faith. Mentoring is important. Partnering with good college ministries is important. The Power of Modeling: A vibrant faith modeled by parents has a strong influence. Admitting past failures and seeking forgiveness can open doors. Conclusion: Persistent prayer and support are essential for those struggling with doubts. God can use these challenges to strengthen faith. Parents and church leaders must actively engage in the lives of young people. What if the secret to surviving chaos at work isn't just strategy—it's laughter? In this eye-opening return to Thrive Loud, host Lou Diamond brings back the incomparable Kathy Klotz-Guest: speaker, podcaster, workshop leader, humorist, and “human connector.” This episode is a masterclass in how organizations (and individuals!) can harness improv, humor, and creativity to navigate relentless uncertainty, adapt to change, and strengthen connection—even in an AI-driven workplace. Key Highlights: Improv in Leadership: Kathy reveals why the “yes, and…” mindset from improv isn't just about saying yes—it's about embracing curiosity, experimentation, and resilience in fast-changing environments. The AI-Human Balance: Think AI is coming for your creativity? Kathy demystifies why human skills—humor, storytelling, connection—can't be automated, and shares how to partner with AI for efficiency without losing your humanity. Culture Check: Discover why laughter is a leading indicator of healthy workplaces, and how losing humor could mean losing your best talent. Building Trust and Connection: Kathy shares post-pandemic observations: teams are more disconnected than ever, and trust is low. She challenges leaders to tackle this head-on, not just with words, but by creating cultures that encourage play, vulnerability, and genuine human interaction. The Power of Content Creation: Hear why sharing authentic stories (even the messy, funny ones) can build bridges and encourage audience engagement—plus the unexpected gifts creators receive in return. Get Organized for Good with Corinne Morahan: Maximize Your Productivity, Cultivate Purposeful Habits and Have More Fun!

Running a successful business or household means getting clear on what truly needs you and releasing the rest.   This episode starts with Corinne Morahan sharing a moment most high achievers dream about: enjoying a vacation in Hawaii while her businesses run without her. How? Systems, delegation, and a willingness to let go. She also shares the story of a client who finally admitted out loud that she didn't need her business financially and how that one honest sentence opened the door to a completely different way of thinking. If you didn't have to do all the things, what would you actually want to do?   Corinne digs into the shift from doer to leader, and why holding onto every task could be the very thing holding you back. She offers real talk on outsourcing, letting others take ownership (even if they do it differently than you would), and creating success metrics that set your team, and you, up to win. Whether you run a business, manage a household, or both, this episode will challenge you to rethink how you spend your time and who you give your energy to.   Episode Breakdown: 00:00 The CEO Mindset Shift 01:38 Letting Go and Trusting Others 04:39 Systems That Run Without You 07:37 The Power of Delegation and Hiring 11:30 Redefining Success on Your Terms   Links JOIN THE VIBE MEMBERSHIP: Ready for more impact, freedom and success? We were thrilled to talk with author Eowyn Ivey about her new book, BLACK WOODS BLUE SKY. During our conversation, Eowyn shared her writing habits, including a description of her writing cottage, and tells us about her reading life. Topics ranged from motherhood on the page and in real life, her family's literary life in Alaska, and Proust vs Joyce. In our own reading lives, we both read and discuss “The North Mail” by Amelia B. Edwards from THE PENGUIN BOOK OF GHOST STORIES: from Elizabeth Gaskell to Ambrose Bierce. We gave this one four paws up. Or should it be eight paws? Whatever the rating system should be for cougars, we both enjoyed Edwards's story. It has a good creep factor and atmosphere, both indoors and outside. Other books we've enjoyed include novels HAPPY LAND by Dolan Perkins-Valdez and THE GRIFFIN SISTERS GREATEST HITS by Jennifer Weiner; a quartet of novellas, OLD NEW YORK by Edith Wharton; and two works of nonfiction: STORYWORTHY: Engage, Teach, Persuade, and Change Your Life Through the Power of Storytelling by Matthew Dicks and DEEP WORK: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport. Big thanks to this episode's sponsor, James Crews and Brad Peacock. The new poetry collection they co-edited is available on May 6: LOVE IS FOR ALL OF US: Poems of Tenderness and Belonging from the LGBTQ+ Community and Friends (with illustrations by Lisa Congdon). We also recap a great Biblio Adventure to the Mark Twain House to hear Ethan Rutherford (author of NORTH SUN, OR THE VOYAGE OF THE WHALESHIP ESTHER) in conversation with Amity Gaige about her new novel, HEARTWOOD. Chris also got to attend THE MOUNT'S virtual book club discussion of Edith Wharton's A SON AT THE FRONT and Willa Cather's ONE OF OURS, led by Anne Schuyler and Julie Olin-Ammentorp. As always, there are more books inside this episode than we can fit here! Enjoy, and be sure not to miss our conversation with Eowyn Ivey at the end. Today on Like It Matters Radio Mr. Black shares a personal story about being attacked by a Racist. It is a great story about how some people can profess to be something they are not. The Bible says that from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. When we get someone talking long enough, you will start hearing their true self. In the business world, we give a 90-day probation period, in a marriage we have an engagement…. Once you spend enough time with someone, and they get comfortable, you will see who you have. The Proverb says, “You can tell a man’s religion in times of despair.” As a leader it is important to understand how we function, how we work, and what causes us to break down. Being Under Construction is about Constant and Never-Ending Improvement. Working to be better today, than yesterday. Better tomorrow than today! Listeners will learn about the 3R’s of Survival and the Power of our Beliefs. Tune into Like It Matters Radio for an hour of power and spend your time improving yourself- LIKE IT MATTERS! In fashion, there are stylists—and then there are image-makers. As the “C” in KCD and one of the first male editors to define women's fashion editorial, Paul Cavaco helped shape the modern visual vocabulary of the 1990s, styling everything from Harper's Bazaar under Liz Tilberis to Madonna's era-defining Sex book with Steven Meisel and Fabien Baron. Tonne Goodman, whose early days included modeling for Richard Avedon and assisting Diana Vreeland, brought that same instinct for clarity and cultural intuition to her longstanding role as the American fashion editor of Vogue. In a moment when the function—and future—of the fashion editor is being reexamined, hearing from two of its originals felt not only timely, but essential. Their conversation is a reminder that while fashion constantly reinvents itself, the value of vision and integrity never goes out of style. "I grew up in the Bronx. There was no fashion in my house. What we had was music, grit, and individuality." - Paul Cavaco  "Everything really does happen for a reason. Even the catastrophic moments usually lead to something better." - Tonne Goodman  Episode Highlights: The Bronx Meets the Upper East Side - Paul and Tonne reflect on their wildly different upbringings—his gritty childhood in the Bronx, hers in a cultured Manhattan household—and how those contrasting backgrounds shaped their approach to fashion and image-making. Modeling Missteps and Vreeland's Memo - Tonne shares how her short-lived modeling career ended with a memorable memo from Diana Vreeland describing her as “not pretty,” but still worth investing in—an early lesson in resilience and reinvention. From the Streets to the Studio - Paul shares how growing up in the Bronx and discovering style through music and street culture gave him a grounded, real-world approach to fashion—one rooted not in fantasy, but in everyday grit and individuality. The Madonna Sex Book and the Power of Play - Paul shares behind-the-scenes stories from the making of Madonna's Sex book, revealing how humor, trust, and improvisation drove one of pop culture's most provocative moments. Working Under Vreeland, Liz Tilberis, and Anna Wintour - Both editors reflect on their experiences working under three of fashion's most legendary editor-in-chiefs, and how those women shaped the way they understood vision, authority, and trust. Amber in Poughkeepsie - Tonne recounts a story of a shoot gone wrong—turned right—thanks to a vintage car parade and quick thinking. A reminder of how the best images often come from the unexpected. What a Fashion Editor Actually Does - They unpack the evolving role of the fashion editor—from doing everything themselves in the early days to navigating the micromanagement of today's content-saturated shoots. The Value of Niceness - In an industry known for egos and elitism, both credit their long-term success to gratitude, empathy, and kindness—and explain why being “nice” is often an underrated superpower. On Creative Longevity and Staying Awake - The key to keeping ideas fresh? Staying alive to the world. For Paul, it's about visual curiosity. For Tonne, it's emotional connection. For both, it's a refusal to become calcified. What's Contemporary Now - Tonne cites empathy and mutual care as the defining principles of the present, while Paul reflects on how enduring values—rather than trends—shape what really matters. Let God Prove It: Identity, Temptation, and Vindication of the Resurrection In this episode of Cogitations, Tony Brewer delves into the deeper meanings behind the temptation of Jesus in Matthew chapter 4. He explores how Satan's challenges were framed to question Jesus' identity and mission, and how Jesus' responses provide a model of faith and trust in God's word. Brewer also discusses the relevance of this narrative for Christians today, emphasizing that identity and righteousness come from divine submission, not human effort. The episode includes thoughtful analysis of each temptation Jesus faced and offers practical implications for living a faithful Christian life.00:00 Introduction and Purpose of Cogitations00:30 The Importance of Logic in Christianity01:36 Announcement and Call to Subscribe02:58 The Temptation of Jesus: A Deeper Look10:55 First Temptation: Provision and Trust13:18 Second Temptation: Testing God's Protection15:26 Third Temptation: Shortcut to Glory18:01 Jesus' Victory and Its Implications for Christians23:02 Conclusion and Viewer Interaction24:39 Final Remarks and Subscription Information
