Sunstock/Triple 8 is redefining how the world conceptualizes and uses money with the launch of asset-backed cryptocurrencies that are directly tied to the value of gold, silver, and platinum bullion. By leveraging blockchain ledger technology and a diversified portfolio of precious metal holdings, Triple 8 is creating a new system for money that is both traceable and backed by assets of real value. Users will be able to buy tokens backed by 1 gram of gold, silver, or platinum. With the Triple 8 debit card , we will provide a seamless transition to this improved system, allowing token holders to pay for everyday goods and services using real precious metals like they would use a traditional debit card today.

Solar is one of the most abundant renewable energy resources in the world. So, why is it not more widely used? What are the biggest challenges and issues facing solar energy today? We sat down with an activist and a Larta expert to unpack this topic and discuss what's next for solar power. GET INVOLVED Sunstock Solar Festival is a non-profit, 100% solar-powered event that aims to strengthen the environmental movement and the local community through music, art, and direct action. They are a zero-waste event, using silent and non-polluting solar generators and encouraging an ethos of positive change. Sunstock forwards all its profits toward rooftop solar projects for charity, through their partner GRID Alternatives. Over the last few years, they've raised money for Homeboy Industries, Kids Cancer Connection, and A Safe Place for Youth to have solar panels installed on their headquarters. Sunstock 2018 will be Saturday, October 20th from 3-11pm, block-party style on Grammercy Pl. and Hollywood Blvd. It is free and open to all ages. Skylar and Alexandra from Sunstock Solar Festival join me to talk about the upcoming event on October 20th, 2018 right here in Hollywood. Sunstock is a festival committed to environmentalism, renewable energy, and zero waste. Music festivals have grown from occasional events into a year round industry in Southern California, but they are also synonymous with excess and waste. Why aren't larger events committed to reducing their footprint and educating their attendees? What does it take to bring that mindset to a large music festival? Like I said Sunstock Solar Festival will be going down October 20th, 2018 right here in Hollywood, on Gramercy Place between Hollywood Blvd and Franklin Ave, it's free to everyone but if you can a $15 donation will help bring a solar roof install to a Safe Place for Youth, a Venice based non-profit.
