Republicans in the House and Senate are racing against each other to deliver a big legislative win for President Donald Trump. Lawmakers plan to use a budget reconciliation process to advance a bill extending the president's tax cuts from his first term and make major spending cuts promised during the campaign. At the same time, the Department of Government Efficiency is vowing to remove what it sees as wasteful and fraudulent spending, upsetting Democrats who say they control the power of the purse. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram joins to break it all down and what it means moving forward.  On Tuesday, President Trump called for a United States takeover of Gaza, intending to level and rebuild the area. U.S. allies in the Middle East quickly opposed the plan that would displace Palestinian citizens and instead emphasized the need for a two-state solution. U.S. Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus outlines the President's proposal and details how the administration's 'outcome-oriented' approach will help bring a path forward in the Middle East. President Trump's tariff strategy continues to make waves across the globe, especially in Washington.   While he recently paused tariffs for Canada and Mexico, he has imposed them on China and continues threatening other countries.   Trump's tough tactics have sparked concerns about a larger trade war, which economists say would further increase the prices of essential items like food.   Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, Kip Tom, joined host Dave Anthony this week to discuss Trump's tariffs and how they will impact farmers like him and grocery bills.   While Torn acknowledged that the cost of produce and other foods would go up temporarily if tariffs were imposed on Mexico, Canada, and other nations, he also said the American agriculture community and the economy would benefit long-term if Trump's tariff strategy worked.   Torn discusses how America is already too reliant on other countries for its food supply and vital products for its production and why this can be a serious national security problem. He also thinks Trump's strategy could bring more manufacturing back home and ensure that America grows the food it needs. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with former Ambassador Kip Torn. This will allow you to hear more about Trump's tariff strategy, how it can impact food prices, and why he says more focus should be on strengthening America's food supply.  Learn more about your ad choices. President Trump has been working at a swift pace in order to lay out all his policy initiatives in his first 100 days in office. One of those was his cost-cutting Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, headed up by SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Critics are calling for more oversight as the unofficial DOGE department makes budget cuts across the government. President Trump also raised questions across the globe when he suggested that the United States might take control of the Gaza Strip at the conclusion of its conflict with Israel. Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer (R) joins the Rundown to discuss the future of Gaza, respond to critiques of the DOGE department, and what comes next in the process to extend the federal budget. The U.S. has sent the first group of migrants to Guantanamo Bay, as the Trump administration follows through on plans to expand this prison for terrorists to include space to house deported migrants. As President Trump's first wave of mass deportations have targeted illegal immigrants, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says this demonstrates the President “is not messing around.” Former federal prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer joins the podcast to explain the legality of sending deported migrants to Guantanamo. Good news, y'all; I have it on good authority (a mid-market conservative talk radio parrot) that Donald Trump''s rhetoric whereby the U.S. would "take over" Gaza were "sidebar remarks were casual and not intended as anything other than speculative inquiries." Oh good; for a minute there I thought the press briefing on a dais with the Israeli Prime Minister beside POTUS - both behind podiums and one with the Presidential seal on it meant "this is a serious occasion." The "Trump whisperers" have some gall trying to "Trump-splain" to those outside the MAGA cult. Hell, Netenyahu took it to HEART - getting his military on standby for it. So we're not to take Trump seriously (we just don't know when to) but Canada already doesn't. But hey, he signed an executive order to deal with t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶c̶o̶u̶r̶g̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶ 10-15 trans girls, nationwide, competing in women's sports in college and/or public school. Another meaningless trophy for his case full of meaningless trophies. I'm sure Nancy ("Tranny Tranny Tranny!") Mace enjoyed the moment, though. Thank goodness we'll finally keep pervs out of girls' lockerrooms (and dressing rooms, I presume?) As Elon and his DOGE boy band mates continue pilfering through government (and yours) data, it's worth noting that our federal workforce has been shrinking for the last half century, is more educated (and paid less) than their private sector counterparts. Pesky facts. Also worth noting that the Department of Education is in Trump/DOGE crosshairs mostly because it's done away with the decades of whitewashing of American (and Confederate) history by the likes of the Daughters of the Confederacy. The kind of distortion that poisoned the brains of Senators Marsha Blackburn, LIndsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, et al, had been done away with and now the "anti-woke" folk (read: those that cringe at the thought of an accurate reckoning of this country's dark history on race) see a need to do away with the federal agency that wiped away that nonsense. Gee, wonder why? Lastly, Trump's anti-D.E.I. push is affecting the "pro-business" LGBTQIA+ efforts in Atlanta and Houston - but he and his cult are totally not anti-gay, y'all! Congrats FAGA (yeah, I'll say it), you just set yourself and the rest of the "alphabet mafia" back five decades to "second class citizenship."

President Donald Trump imposed ten percent tariffs on Chinese imports earlier this week, just a day after the tariffs on Canada and Mexico were put on a 30-day pause. Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, Kip Tom, joins to share why farmers like him will benefit from the tariffs and what it will mean for the economy. Fentanyl is now considered the deadliest drug in American history, and President Trump's administration has levied tariffs on China in an effort to end ‘the mass invasion of fentanyl in our country.' It was also not the only one of its type at the time in the mid-19th Century, the Taiping Rebellion in China had been bludgeoning its way through the countryside, and there the number of dead would climb to more than 20 million in the decade of that country's disastrous flirtation with sectarianism and mythology. 40 000 Xhosa were going to die of starvation in British Kaffraria and what was known then as Xhosaland. When we left off last episode, King Sarhili of the Gcaleka line, the paramount chief of the Xhosa, had visited the Gxarha river to meet with Mkhazana and Nongqawuse the prophet early in 1857. A quick word about millenarian movements. Most have a particular structure, and are replicated the world over. There is usually the charismatic leader, a figure head. Behind this person are the administrators, the navigators who guide this mishapen ship on it's voyage, almost always towards self-destruction. The causes of millenarianism are diverse, but the overriding similarities lie in all linked to Middle Eastern monotheistic religions intersecting with local ancient rites and cultural norms. They all are characterised by a prophetic leader, a charismatic figure claiming divine insight, all have end-times expectations. Elements of the Christian Nationalist right wing in America have a similar core belief - as the baby boomers approach their end of life, many are convinced its the end-Times for everyone. They have annointed their own charismatic figure who is known as POTUS. Nongqawuse's startling revelations that these ancestors were on the cusp of returning led to the Cattle Killing frenzy. By December 1856 there had been two disappointments, the resurrection had been postponed twice. Still the believers believed. Two harvests had passed, and they did not til their land. Old people living near Peelton Mission station began dying of starvation. Many others were wearing hunger belts, special girdles fastened around the stomach. “Hunger…” wrote Brownlee “is fast closing upon its victims, and though there should be no war, their sufferings will far exceed anything which they have hitherto experienced…”

For the first time, the Trump White House put out a portal to invite "new media" members into the White House Press Briefing Room, with John Ashbrook of the Ruthless Podcast being the first of those members to ask a question during Friday's briefing. FOX News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy discusses how much different it is covering the Trump  Administration than the Biden Administration. ICE agents have begun ramping up efforts to deport illegal immigrants, with President Trump's focus on capturing those who have committed acts of violence or serious drug crimes. As hundreds of arrests are made, what happens after these ICE raids take place? Former Supervisory ICE Deportation Officer Peter Stewart weighs in on how the deportation process takes place, why deportation efforts under the Trump Administration vastly differ from the Biden Administration and addresses misconceptions he believes are widely being made about ICE agents.  Learn more about your ad choices. This past week began with a tech selloff as Chinese AI startup DeepSeek spooked investors worldwide. Chipmakers Nvidia and Broadcom were the stocks most impacted, as DeepSeek's AI virtual assistant "R1" was reportedly made much cheaper and faster than its American competitors. Entrepreneurs and policymakers worry DeepSeek could be a modern-day “Sputnik moment” and a sign that America is falling behind in the AI race. Adam Thierer, a senior fellow for the Technology & Innovation team at the R Street Institute, joined host Jessica Rosenthal to discuss the importance of America remaining a global leader in artificial intelligence. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, hear their full discussion about why the emergence of DeepSeek should serve as a wake-up call for our country. Learn more about your ad choices.
