What a swell of a time it was in fellowship with Racheal and Tori-ann in this episode of Actors After Dark. Tori-ann Whyte, Actress and educator shares the need for the increased value of the creative industry, specifically, Theatre, highlight that respect is due. Racheal Allen, Performance artist engages with her understanding of how we can proceed through this global pandemic and how to embrace the new era of digitization as actors and artist. The part of the stage and theatre which is out of the sight of the audience. The service areas of the theatre, behind, beside or underneath the stage. Also refers to the personnel who work in the technical departments that work to create the performance, alongside the actors and musicians.

Let meets Marci-Lee  Smith, a budding artist/e who engages in the disciplines of music and acting.  With her recent transition as a graduate, she highlights her challenges and accomplishments in her exploration as an actress, singer and songwriter.  She is a musical theatre junkie who has recently released her second single. "MARYJANE"  IG: OLFKI An Intermezzo is a Theatrical performance or spectacle with music and often dance which was performed between the acts of a play to celebrate special occasions. 

Strike!  We meet Rajeave  Mattis in this episode.  With interest in directing and choreography, he explains how his upbringing has influenced his reach as an artist, highlighting his relationship with his mother as a pivotal part of his growth.  BIO Rajeave Mattis; a trained Theatre Artiste who specializes in the area of Directing, Playwrighting, Screenwriting, devising and Choreography. His works are influenced by his aim to create social change for marginalized groups specifically young boys and women. He has been blessed to be influenced and worked with some of the leading names in theatre such as Trevor Nairne, Marvin George, Marlon Simms, Chris Walker, Camille Quamina amongst others. In addition, Mattis is an educator at the secondary level in Drama and Theatre Arts for the past four years. It is his ambition to continue making positive strides with the young people he engages with. Rajeave continues to make his mark with his craft in the artistic world. Strike: To take down a set after production has closed. The use of the word "strike" in the theatrical sense of taking down scenery was recorded more than one hundred years ago--although builders had used the word as early as the 17th century to mean "remove" and sailors to mean "lower" (a mast or sail) in the 14th century. Today, it is usual to strike a set directly after the final performance, and there is a good reason for doing so; (a full complement of workers, both cast and crew.)

 In this episode, we meet Bajan raised and Jamaican moulded visual and performance artist Neil Waithe @neilwaithe Neil takes us through a methodical account of his journey from playing as a child to his development as an artist. His devotion to his artistic process is brilliant and we hope you will discover this as you listen to this episode. A beat is the smallest unit of action in a play. It contains a distinct beginning, middle, and end. In a beat, characters pursue a simple objective. In this episode, we meet Sashawna Thompson, Actress, poet and performance artist. This week we are joined by Educator and Actress Ramone Deer (Mona). She highlights the didactic value of Theatre and the role she plays in using her artistry and skills to inspire and educate within the discipline of Theatre/ Acting. We welcome Katherine Johnson, Actress, Makeup Artist and Biologist to the actors after dark space. She shares how she has found her process as an actress and continues to explore her artistry. IG: @that_kathrine *******A blackout (all the lights go off) is used in theatrical productions to help the audience be transported from one scene to another or between short works. The lights simply go out leaving the theatre dark while the sets are being changed or the actor are preparing for the next scene. It is not only a time of darkness but also quietness as it gives the audience time to digest the previous scene and to prepare for what is to come. It is a period of transition for the story to flow.*******
