A sports card podcast about my journey through the years of collecting. The ups and downs and the enjoyment it has it has given me. Tell you about my buys and what's going on in the hobby.
I haven't been here in a while just wanted to get an episode under my belt. I talk about players I'm looking at and things going on in the hobby.
Topps put out stadium club, members only, dome, topps major league debut, topps micro, o-pee-chee premier, studio, upper deck final edition all new baseball products. In football we had bowman, wildcard, star picks, stadium club, fleer ultra, pro set platinum, upper deck, pinnacle, and of course we have upper deck basketball with Larry Johnson rookie cards
I rank my top ten shaq rookie cards. This is just my option. Drop a comment or email me at cardstorypod@gmail.com and let me know your top Shaq rookie cards
1991 NFL Draft, QB bust Dan McGwire, Todd Marinovich, Brorning Nagle, were all bust in the NFL and this is why I worry about spending a lot of money on Rookie QB's cards, they get hyped up and prices go crazy these days off of one good game. There is a lot of fomo in the hobby. Be careful on what and who you spend your money on. Have fun with it and collect what makes you happy.
Leaf baseball, skybox basketball, action packed and fleer football, upper deck, o-pee-chee premier, proset and Score hockey all premiered in 1990
Topps put out sets with Hall of Famers, all stars and Legends. These sets were about $2 and you got 33 cards or 44 cards. Sounds like a deal to me. Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle were in some of these sets, and as a young kid I thought that was great.
1990 Donruss Learning Series is a 55-card set that served as part of an educational packet for elementary and middle school students. The cards were issued in two formats. Third and Fourth Grade teachers received the cards, a historical timeline that relates events in baseball to major historical events, additional 1990 Donruss wax packs, and a teacher's guide that focused on several academic subjects. Grades 5 through 8 received the cards, a teacher's guide designed for older students, and a 14-minute video shot at Chicago's Wrigley Field. Each set came packaged with a 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" Carl Yastrzemski mini-puzzle. The design of the set is identical to that of the '90 Donruss base set, with the exception of a "Learning Series" logo on each card.
1989 upper deck baseball, bowman baseball, Score and Proset football and Hoops basketball all debuted and My favorite sneakers of all time came out Jordan 4's
We all have regrets in this hobby but my biggest regret is not taking over my local card store named 4C's
This episode is an introduction telling you about me and what I'm trying to do with the podcast. I have been collecting cards since 1988 and it's been a blessing in my life. It really brings me joy and I have learned so much through the hobby and meet some great people.
