Today's show opens with a reflection to a piece I wrote years ago about adversity. The piece was an advice essay to parents to encourage them to not bubble-wrap their children. We all need to learn that life is unfair and can hit you hard, so you need to develop coping mechanisms to function in the real world. This leads to me wondering if that's what has created a deeper divide in our nation. It's no longer the ideology of Democrat versus Republican, but those who live in a world of make-believe and those of us who live in Realville. The Deep State has not retreated. Thanks to the influence of Minority Leader Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), we now have a new Majority Leader, Senator John Thune (R-SD). RINOs and the Apparatus hiding withing the bureaucracy will not go away without a fight. The Legacy/mainstream media continues to show us just how unwell they are. They have become the home for those who live in a world of make-believe. No wonder they are so eager to help confuse the world with their hoaxes and propaganda. Turn them off, today! Let's remember my thoughts about the events leading to Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 Presidential race. I suggested it was his way of punching back to endorse Kamala Harris. After seeing the grin on his face when welcoming Donald Trump to the White House, I cannot help but think back to what I suggested a few months ago. Finally, Donald Trump makes yet another solid pick for his Administration by nominating Pete Hegseth to become the Secretary of Defense. While the idiots on The View decided to not do any research at all, Scott Jennings on CNN schooled his fellow panelists on his background and accomplishments. In this episode of Hollywood Live, Tanya Hart pays tribute to another entertainment legend we've lost—Frankie Beverly, the lead singer and songwriter of the iconic soul and funk band Maze. Known for timeless hits like “Golden Time of Day,” “Joy and Pain,” and “Happy Feelings,” Frankie Beverly's music has been the soundtrack to countless summer cookouts, family reunions, and unforgettable live concerts for over five decades. He passed away at the age of 77, as announced by his family, though the cause of death was not disclosed. Tanya reflects on Beverly's remarkable career that began in 1970 with his group Raw Soul in Philadelphia. It was Marvin Gaye who guided the group to change their name to Frankie Beverly and Maze, setting them on a path to musical greatness. Their debut album in 1977 was just the start of a series of hits that spanned decades. Beverly was a beloved staple at the Essence Festival, where fans honored him this past summer by wearing white. In times of crisis, we as the family of faith are not meant to just sit back and watch the news, relying on our government to tell us what to think. The things taking place in the U.S. should be a catalyst, transforming peoples' attitudes toward God and each other. We need to look back to America's past Great Awakenings, and see how God has used his people in the face of crisis and unrest. Kirk reminds listeners that we don't just get saved by Jesus and then wait passively on earth until we reach the Kingdom; instead, we must deal with our own hearts in the here and now, and bring heaven to earth. If our hope is for the family of faith to be governing ourselves and keeping a covenant with God, then we need a revolution to take place in our hearts.
