Based in Canberra, Helena pop are five piece band that have been writing, touring and performing for a number of years and have recently released a single titled "Oh What Shame".We talk about how the band was formed and how all the members joined and fit in within the group. We talk about how the group’s sonic direction has changed over time, moving from singer song-writer folk to eclectic pop that draws from a broad range of sound. We talk about  the way Jack writes music and brings it to the band for it to be formed into the final piece.     Happy Axe -The Voice, Violin and Saw

    This episode we speak to Emma Kelly, better known as Happy Axe. Based in Melbourne, Happy Axe is an experimental ambient project. The first record from the project, released in 2018, is titled Dream Punching and was followed up by a release of a 40 minute improvisation session titled Stromlo. Emma tells us about her musical journey and moving from folk music to the world of ambient experimental music. We talk about her processes in composing and writing and how they differ from the way she composes through improvisation.     This episode we talk to Brisbane musician Padraig Parkhurst. Padraig is a composer, producer and guitarist who releases instrumental hip-hop under the alias Anarchosophist. As well as producing instrumental hip-hop, Padraig has a background in classical composition, piano and guitar with his pieces being performed on stage in San Francisco, San Diego, Fresno and London. Padraig tells us about his musical education and how growing up in remote Australian communities has influenced his listening and later compositions.     Kirrah Amosa - Pop Music and Island RnB

    Alexander Hunter - Open Form Composition
