The Yankees' tumultuous season got a bit more challenging this weekend as they lost their star to injury. The best player in baseball, Aaron Judge, is out for the foreseeable future with a flexor strain in his right elbow. He did not tear his UCL, but the fear of preventing that may cause the Yankees to proceed with caution when figuring out a timetable for his return. Coming off of a series loss to the Phillies, how will the Yankees adjust going forward, and will we see Judge again this year? Jake and Jordan discuss all of the possibilities and share their thoughts about what they think should happen.Slightly over a year ago, Nick Kurtz was getting drafted out of Wake Forest. Now, Kurtz is not only playing in the majors, but he just made MLB history. Kurtz became the first rookie ever to hit four home runs in a major league game. "The Big Amish," Kurtz's nickname despite the fact that he is not Amish, went 6-for-6 with 4 HR, 8 RBI and 19 total bases vs. the Houston Astros on Friday night. Although Jacob Wilson has taken most of the headlines for the A's, they have another star in Kurtz. The guys discuss his historic game, his impressive last couple of months and what the future looks like for the young slugger. While a rookie was etching his name into the record books this weekend, some MLB legends were being immortalized into baseball history. Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, Dave Parker and Dick Allen were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday in Cooperstown. Jake and Jordan discuss the emotional ceremony. All of this news and we haven't even talked about all of the series from the weekend. The 1970s era cool just wafted off of Dave Parker, the gigantic Pirates slugger who was one of the best, if not THE BEST players in baseball in the last half of that decade. Parker's persona, his play, and his essence were all larger than life and are still clear almost 50 years later. That bigness, however, led to problems later in his career, both on and off the field, but ultimately set up a fine career denoument as a productive DH, and a Hall of Fame induction scheduled for later this month. Commemorating the passing of the great Cobra, Mike and Bill look back at a pretty impressive, though flawed, career and person.  Plus, happy birthday to Cy Blanton and Gene Alley! And farewell to Frank Johnson and Vic Harris.

RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot Scott kick off Episode 340 with an emotional twist — Hotshot is moving from Snoqualmie to Sammamish, leaving behind years of memories, including the house where his daughter was raised. The two reflect on the sentimentality of leaving home and Scott's surprising inability to cry… except maybe after a World Series loss. The conversation pivots to the 340 area code — the U.S. Virgin Islands — leading to a trivia-filled celebration of Kelsey Grammer, Tim Duncan, Sugar Ray Seales, and Dave Matthews. Mitch connects the dots between obscure sports facts and Seattle's ties to musical legends, including a memorable story about Dave Matthews' tour bus incident. Steve Phillips joins to break down Cal Raleigh's MVP case. Raleigh's home run pace, elite defense, and the grueling Seattle travel schedule all contribute to a narrative that may rival Aaron Judge's candidacy — if Cal keeps up the pace and the M's stay in the playoff hunt. Hughes Norton stops by to revisit his rollercoaster ride as Tiger Woods' original super-agent. From landing the record-setting Nike and Titleist deals to being fired over the phone with no closure, Norton shares never-before-heard behind-the-scenes drama from his memoir Rainmaker. Mariners No-Table with Brady Farkas and Joe Doyle returns. The guys react to a rollercoaster road trip, Joe's doomsday texts, and Cal's MVP surge. They debate whether Julio Rodriguez can be “just a singles hitter,” how much value Randy Arozarena has left, and what it'll take to reach the postseason.   GUESTS Steve Phillips | MLB Network & SiriusXM Analyst Hughes Norton | Author, Rainmaker Brady Farkas | Mariners No-Table, Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast Joe Doyle | Mariners No-Table, MLB Draft & Mariners Analyst   TABLE OF CONTENTS 0:00 | Mitch grills Hotshot on taking time off to move. Hour 1 The Mets suffered a devastating sweep by the Pirates, prompting Boomer to remark on the team's poor performance and the ineffectiveness of a players-only meeting and Carlos Mendoza's ejection. Given the high payroll and dismal run production, Boomer stressed the need for accountability, while Jerry's update highlighted the Mets' struggles and included sound bites from Mendoza, Lindor, and Frankie Montas, alongside news of the Yankees' victory over the A's. Separately, the Knicks are reportedly considering Dawn Staley as a head coach, a prospect Gio dismissed as unlikely, and Malik Beasley is under federal investigation for unusual betting activity in the 2023-24 season. Hour 2 LeBron James has opted into his Lakers contract, but his agent Rich Paul's statement suggests a desire for a trade, possibly campaigning for Giannis to join the Lakers. This has led to speculation about what the Knicks would offer for LeBron, with one caller even suggesting he become a player/coach. In other news, Aaron Judge hit two homers as the Yankees beat the A's, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. had a home run and a triple. The Mets suffered their most lopsided series defeat in history. As NBA free agency begins, LeBron's future is a hot topic, while callers debated the Mets bringing back Syndergaard and deGrom, and if LeBron would force Bronny on the Knicks if he joined.
