Welcome to the In My Bedroom Closet Podcast, it isn't about me being gay, it's because I literally record it in my closet. I don't really know what this will be about. Just weird stories I have or something.
I love these wireless headphones, but they HAVE sabotaged two episodes at this point. I talk about that and some more MtG stuff while looking like a lunatic walking in circles around the Nashville airport.
An episode from March or something that never got posted because I knew the world couldn't handle how absolutely correct I was. Suffice to say, I have a complicated relationship with Dark Souls 3.
He's back! In possibly the most aimless episode yet, Arthur talks about his history with Magic: the Gathering as if anyone cares. What a fucking nerd. But also some hints towards future podcast topics. And that episode about DS3 is coming out soon (probably tomorrow just to space things out a bit).
Fun little story that happened last Sunday. Names and locations have been withheld.
While exhausting myself walking through a foot or so of snow, I talk about a couple of movies I've watched recently, and a bit about 3D printing.
Making and tasting an odd but delicious soup I got at a nearby Asian grocery, and just talking about Asian cuisine and stuff in general.
Really great game I played a bunch of this past weekend.
I fucking love these games, man.
After dealing with clearing my 3D printer out of my closet, I talk for a while about 3D printing.
Update as of the day after recording this, I've got my new iPhone all set up, with Anchor installed, so I should be getting back to the normal schedule soon.
Another episode recorded in someone else's house, while I was visiting their cat that used to be my cat (sort of). I end up talking about my pets, my childhood, friends, and all sorts of other stuff, as a result of talking about the game The Silent Age. We'll be getting back to normal-length episodes, recorded on my high-quality recorder next time, I think. Sorry there's been this string of different kinds of episodes, I've just been really busy with stuff, away from the house, that kind of thing.
I talk about some strife with working on my capstone (and about what the capstone is), and it ends up getting really dark when I start telling a story about a really bad car accident with some people I know that gave one of my friends PTSD. This and the next episode are still using the low-quality recorder, sorry, I'll be getting back to using my normal one soon. Sorry these are coming out so late as well, but their absurd length hopefully makes up for that. A little note here, since I recorded this a couple of days ago and there have been some potential changes to my project: I'm working on arranging a time that I can essentially do that same project, like I was going to do at the engineering companies, but at Purdue Pharmaceuticals, to observe the pressure the lawsuits are putting on the company right now. I'm really hoping that will work, because that would be perfect for me. After all, I basically wrote a novel about the same kind of story.
So the audio quality on this and, most likely, the next few episodes will be shit, because I couldn't record them on my nice recorder. But I rant about why Solo: A Star Wars Story is a bad idea, and why I probably won't watch it - not to boycott it or something, but because I personally just don't want to know Han Solo's backstory.
I might sound kind of high in this episode. And I am. I'm high on baths. Not bath salts, just baths.
Not a fan of the series, but I've read/watched all but the last one (which I'm in the process of reading right now) and have a number of gripes with it. I looked it up and the luck potion (which I talk about in an OotCP segment) is called Felix Felicis. Not sure where I got "Lucius Rex" from.
Recorded this before the two (and probably more, later) Out of the Closet Podcast episodes but kind of, well, forgot about it. This whole thing is kind of funny to me because I have the same sort of dislike of Trump and Kanye, while still being relatively entertained by both of them.
I may as well call this series of special podcasts "a day in the life of Arthur Walterson". I'm at a Chinese restaurant, go to K-Mart and buy some Kool-Aid, then make and try it for the first time in my life. I also briefly talk about Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara!! in contrast to The Hulk.
A special episode. Some factual errors (this would actually be episode sixteen, not fourteen) but who cares. I swear, that fucking ice cream truck is literally everywhere. I could even hear it inside the botanical garden, although I'm not sure if it came through in the recording. I also peak the audio at one point (ironically, after wondering about the volume) but you'll survive. The arbitrary topic I chose is Uzumaki by Junji Ito.
I've seen a good amount of Marvel movies and didn't like most of them. I've watched a lot more X-Men and like that a lot more. But in this episode I talk about whether or not Marvel movies exactly count as a "series".
So yeah your hag A.W. here kind of dropped the ball for a few days there. I had episodes recorded, just forgot to upload them, at least before I was relatively fucked up in the evening and it was too late. But I talk about Dark Souls Remastered because I mentioned it in the previous episode, and talk about how it isn't really remastered, and in doing so talk about the new update to The Binding of Isaac.
As mentioned in the Resident Evil episode, I love the Dark Souls series. Dark Souls II is a fantastic game and is unfairly criticized, especially given how much praise Dark Souls III gets. This is a long fucking episode, my ass actually went numb from sitting still on a wooden floor for forty-two minutes.
I've never played a Resident Evil game, and probably never will, because they just don't look fun to play. They are fun, however, to watch. Resident Evil VII has some of the coolest theming, atmosphere, and writing, but the puzzles look stupid and don't fit into the rest of the game.
I talk about a book I read recently. It's pretty good.
This is a story I wrote (or rather, finished writing) recently and quite enjoyed. It gets ugly, it's not for the faint of heart, but I think I did a good job with it.
I talk about some bizarre conceptions I see concerning weapons, violence, and human behavior. Bad people are going to be bad people, so let's hold them accountable for being bad people instead of expecting them to become good people.
We laugh about how off the mark science fiction writers' year estimates were in the 1950's-60's, but maybe George Orwell was closer than we think...
I talk about how pathetic slurs at white people are, and call for people to come up with better ones. I also spend a little too much time clarifying that I am not, in fact, gay. The lady doth protest too much, methinks?
I talk about tobacco and nicotine gum, and how more people should use nicotine gum, whether or not they're quitting tobacco. It's like a better version of caffeine.
I continue talking about things I know nothing about, simply because it's fun and I hate the government.
Lots of sniffling and shaky voice because it's cold as fuck. Almost May and it's still practically winter here.
This shit pisses me off and you can probably hear it, with me stumbling over words in this one. Obviously my argument doesn't hold for very high-level jobs, like a computer security expert or something, but it applies to what used to be entry-level jobs like welding or construction. Have a few days of training for the job once you start working, but don't require several years of experience to get the job in the first place.
I get a little carried away with questioning America's ethics in the process of talking about chemical weapons. I also realize that I should rename the podcast because someone else has already used the name. Edit: So apparently I was way off on the death count from the nuclear bombings of Japan. It's more like 130k-230k deaths - the majority of which were civilian. Considerably less, of course (not sure why I thought it was two million), but still a hell of a lot more than died at Pearl Harbor. Japan did a lot of bad shit in WWII, but taking that out on the civilians is pretty fucking dirty. Not to mention, America rounded up innocent Japanese Americans around that time, just because of their race. Also, it sounds like I might have been incorrect on some details about the Dresden bombing as well. But seeing how this episode is literally titled "I have no idea what I'm doing or talking about," if you take anything I say in these episodes as fact, you're an idiot.
I talk about how both of my pinkie fingers got cut in the exact same place in almost the same way, two years apart, and in doing so, explore what this podcast is. I don't know. If you somehow discovered this podcast and listened to it and want to hear more, comment on it (if you can, first time I've used Anchor) and give me suggestions of what to talk about. I'll talk about almost anything.
